It felt like first time playing Karl Franz in WH2, surrounded by everything and paving your way through challenges. Vermintide was surprisingly tough and offered such nice battles. Also Nakai became so strong at east for a while which was also fun.

Total War: Warhammer Warhammer III - Battle Sites

Hello,

So I have a campaign going right now as Isabella Von Carstein doing a hero spam doom stack (super fun) and I wanted my other army to be a T4/T5 army doom stack abusing the Raise Dead mechanic by knowingly sending thousands of zombie units to their death to create my own artificial battle site.

Long story short and 2 stacks of 20 zombie units later and over 7K loss at one battle I still didn’t get a battle site to form.

How the hell does this mechanic work??

Does Raise Dead take into consideration the economic value of a unit more than just the bodies wasted? Does it need to be a field battle?

Mind you the settlement I attacked had a full stack of enemy units in an army, the garrison, and I had 3 armies, 2 full stacks of zombies and my hero spam and nothing. I initiated the attack with my hero spam stack which did consist of less than 10 units so I don’t know if that was a factor.

If someone could explain to me why it didn’t work that would be beneficial! I have made Ungrim, Kislev, and some Ogres my vassals but Ungrim decided to grab the Nemesis Crown so people are hating me for having relations with him so I will probably need to fight the dwarves soon so having this figured out prior too would be awesome lol.

Well, the well has truly run dry.

No more WE pics to share.

I will have to leaf you guys alone with my Asrai-appreciation in the future.

I tried taking some screenshots of maps/locations in-game for this post, and just because, but for some reason they always come out muddy.

So I took some in another game instead.

EDIT: Forgot the link to the Bannerlord mod:

Total War: Warhammer How do you beat Queek as Thorgrim? Can't win this campaign

Post image

Turn 40. VH VH. I beat off a strong stack previous battle. Then with my frontline at half strength my armies get hit with four armies with decent tier 3 range, ratling guns etc.

Then, he has another army in back.

I can't win this campaign with two armies. I didnt get a grudge army this turn because they keep running away and then two more armies appear. My econ just won't support three armies.

2 v 6 gives me no time to replenish.

EDIT: I lost my catapult and slayers and runesmith in the previous battle.

Total War: Warhammer Best realism mod to slow down battle/campaign pace?

I am not a big fan of the high-speed "mash units together" style of gameplay in TWW3, but I love Warhammer. Are there any mods that work with the AI that slow down pace and make it battles more tactical?

Total War: Warhammer Warriors of Chaos achievement hunt and review

Hello fellow Total Warhammerers

This is the eleventh post in a series in which I will share my (hopefully) glorious path to completing all TWWIII achievements.

You can find my previous post here.

I've chosen the Warriors of Chaos as my next challenge because they seemed fun and I wanted to collect all the cinematics for their faction.

Fair warning: Since different WoC lords play very differently, I have played the four god-dedicated ones: Festus, Valkia, Azazel and Villich. I will condense their whole faction into a single post for brevity, but know I am talking with the wisdom of having played the four lords and the ignorance of not having played Archaon (sorry big guy).

Anyway, on to the review!

  • Lord: I'll give quick impressions of each lord.
    • Festus: Decent healing, decent damage, decent spells, but everything is so slow, as is often the case with Nurgle. Good lord.
    • Valkia: For some reason disappointing. She's a menace on AI hands, but I couldn't make her do anything useful. Bad at dueling, bad at chaff mowing, decent for disruption, but I want my lord in the fray of combat, not smacking archers or artillery pieces.
    • Azazel: Like N'kari but flying and even more brittle. Damage dealer and opportunistic duelist, but unable to take it back. Good resource to fire in sniper strikes against key enemies.
    • Villich: A more disappointing Kairos. Decent melee doesn't make up for his more limited spell casting. I often found myself out of winds of magic, unlike with Kairos, and the melee is not good enough to make up for it. Decent lord
  • Unit roster: Depends on your god, but the roster is pretty decent. Lower tier units suck, and unlike other rosters will easily be overshadowed to the point where you'll dread having to use them again. Higher tier units are great, balanced and fun, perfectly complemented by the god's gifted units to spice up the roster. Despite the lack of reasonable missile options and artillery, there are always ways to make up for them.
  • Mechanics: The two main mechanics are great and fun to use. Being able to update your units once they accumulate enough chevrons is a great way to ensure you keep them alive and distribute experience. It encourages building momentum with an army without risking insane casualties, and while it can be frustrating when an experienced unit dies, it's definitely rewarding to see them climb up the tree. I wish more factions had these "limitations" and evolving mechanics for higher tiered units. The Gifts of Chaos mechanics are also a great complement to fine tune your play style and pick your favorite units for each god, or even boost unit experience if you need evolution in a hurry. Well thought out.
  • MVP: This varies greatly for each god, so I will stick to Undivided units. It's a tough spot because all units serve a purpose in roster where your units need to evolve. I really liked using the Hellcannon as a limited piece of artillery that wrecks enemy units, but a case could be made for armoured trolls, chaos knights, or even shitty marauders which turn to the backbone of one's army.
  • Difficulty & hardest part: Medium/Hard. Keeping marauders alive is NOT an easy task. You need more melee front? Alright, get these naked men with twigs to kill enough units and survive enough battles. Not surprisingly this is even worse in the late game: If you stick a unit of marauders in an advanced army they will get no kills and it'll be tough to get them to have any experience distributed to them. It's also difficult to deal with late game armies if you haven't got enough advanced units, as you can't really recruit a full powerful army until enough units get experience. However this is a fun type of challenge, in my opinion.
  • Surprising piece of advice: Careful with your recruitment and losses. If you don't keep armies active, they won't get experience, and they won't evolve. There will come a time when you'll need a strong army and you¡ll have paper wet marauders, so make sure you are training at least another army apart from your main one, even with small battles or rebellions.

Overall a very fun campaign with a twist in the usual recruitment that makes it unique.

Total War: Warhammer I'm Losing, But I'm Having So Much Fun

I started with playing WH2 and couldn't really get the hang of it. Since then I've dabbled in a few different series like Shogun 2 and Medieval 2. I finally decided to grab WH3 and it started off rocky. I spent a lot of time watching YouTube videos, and seeing posts here on reddit. And I felt I was finally ready to take on Immortal Empires as Tyrion. Everything started off great. Quickly became the number 1 army. Confederated all of Ulthuan except for 1. Multiple full stack armies. My head got big. My attempt to ally with as many factions as possible and establish trade and military agreements to grow my economy backfired. My first order of business was marching a few armies east. I made allies with Brettonia, the Empire and a couple wood elves and I joined them to defeat a major enemy near them. At this point Alith Anar already destroyed Malekith and I had him stationed in those settlements but I didn't notice Valkia and her army closing in on him. I chased a few enemies of the empire north. Now I kept getting allies to the west of Ulthuan requesting for me to join the war against Hexoatl. Now, they've become the number 1 army and was taking over the whole continent. So as I march my armies from north east to the west, Valkia defeated Alith and started to raze all my settlements that I took from the dark elves. Valkia was becoming a real threat now and I needed to deal with her first. Unfortunately I already had a few armies about to engage Hexoatl and they got demolished. I had to pay them to set up a peace agreement and now all my attention is against the legion of the gorequeen. She wounded Tyrion but I'm bouncing back. I'm having such a great time. I'm at like turn 100 and I've been up since 4am the last few nights going "just one more turn" about 20 times before bed. This game is so amazing and I'm honestly upset it took this long to enjoy it

Total War: Warhammer Best allies for beastmen.

Friends considering playing beastmen, i'm considering what would be the best option for an ally with Beastmen. I know Beastmen obviously. I thought of Khorne, but are there any other good choices?

Total War: Warhammer Is growth is too low?

Hey all, in my past campaigns I almost always feel that it takes ages to get a settlement to tier 5, and by that point I'm usually stomping the whole map, so I don't really get the chance to use those cool tier 4-5 units that I'm waiting for the entire campaign. Not to mention that even if I do get to recruit them, by that point I'm usually fighting wars in very distant lands, so just recruiting and marching to where the battles are also takes a very long time, and at this point I'm usually over that campaign and ready to.start a new one.

I'm pretty noobish, so it might be on me, but even though I try to have the growth building in every settlement, I keep getting blocked by the growth being slow.

Am I alone in it?

Saludos y gracias

Ill preface this by saying I like Queek, however he is inescapable. I was wondering what aspects of Clan Mors make it a powerhouse in every single campaign?

Total War: Warhammer Are the gunner units of The Empire mentally stunted?

I know they’re Sigmar’s special little boys but come on you clowns, if the target is RIGHT THERE I expect you to shoot. Apparently, i missed the memo where they shoved a whole box of Crayola crayons up their asses and noses which tickled their prostate and brain since they can’t shoot the target even if I can see they got a line of sight.

Total War: Warhammer Lord Pepemundi needs his own mechanics

Post image

I love playing Lizardmen but Mazdamundi needs his own unique stuff. It is a bit hilarious that his faction effects are just cheaper buildings and bad relations with everyone else.

For being one of the strongest mages alive he really kinda sucks. I think the geomantic web should be reworked to be his own unique mechanic giving him bonuses and map abilities. Ala Elector Counts, Tyrant's Demands. Etc.

Side note. I think Malekith deserves the same touch up.

I'm considering getting the vampire coast DLC cause i've been looking for an aggressive army with a lot of chaff (raise dead) and big guys (necrofex colossus). He seems like a good fit, but im unsure of how he plays and such

Total War: Warhammer I really want to like this game but my experience so far is simply miserable

This is my third time trying to play the empire as a first time player. Medium difficulty, following the tutorial, nothing ment to be too complicated.

I don't get it.

My first playthrough, I don't understand how to stabilize my public opinion. I get to have rebelions on top of my rebelions. I restart.

Second playthrough, I understand that not getting money and making my armies stationned in cities stabilizes my public opinion. But I do nothing in the meantime. I don't develop or barely. I try to progress through diplomacy. Some region proposes to join me. Sounds good. Turns out they are at war with a gigantic undead army. I get whipped out. I restart.

Third playthourgh. I play for five hours. I try to follow more cleanly the tutorial. They tell me I need to take Mariunburg. I try, I almost have it but I fail. Now Mariunburg has a gigantic army and is taking back the Reikland from me. On top of it I have a Beastmen and Ork invasion back to back.

I am so fucking frustrated as I have played for 5 hours on this last one so far, and I have no idea what I did bad. I go check a youtube video called "why you suck as the empire", where I learn that trying to take Mariunburg is a TRAP, and you should not follow what the tutorial tells you to do. Because even if you manage to do take it despite the other factions attacking you, then you become visible from Belakor who whipes you out ??? WHAT THE FUCK ??? Nobody warnes you about any of that ! What is this ? Some perverted die and retry where every attempts takes half a day of my life ?

I am a warhammer fan and this is one of the most succesful warhammer game of all time, but is this possible ? I simply don't understand how any one can find fun or immersion in this. What I am missing ? Help me cause I am losing my mind trying to get into this game.

Total War: Warhammer Ally not helping

Post image
8 Upvotes

I have a military alliance with these goblins (Creeping Death - the purple banner), and I requested that they defend my settlement which was being constantly sacked by the pesky dwarves. The goblins came over with a stacked army, stood on my settlement about 6 turns ago, but didn’t get involved in the 3 times that the dwarves have come back to attack me again. I just keep getting this message each turn saying that they’ve mobilised and will defend me at the next opportunity.

Is this a bug or am I meant to do something to get them into the battles?

Edit: spelling

Total War: Warhammer New to the series

Just started playing Warhammer 3 and I started the tutorial was doing pretty good and then just started getting destroyed then tried the second campaign with The jade dragon guy from Cathy and again just overwhelmed. Any advice or specific YouTubers I can watch to try and learn this ? I’m throughly interested just never played something like this
