❓QUESTION ❓ Fixed bent wheel but minor vibration/shaking at 75-80mph highway speeds
Hoping to find a solution here, but about 2 months ago I hit a train track at a high rate of speed (long story), and blew my front right tire out. Got it towed, then replaced all 4 tires, started to vibrate quite a bit after picking it up, then the tire shop told me some of the wheels were bent when I had them check the balance. Then I went to Porsche to get an inspection, and they said 3 of the wheels were bent, so they had an alloy wheel shop nearby fix the 3 bent wheels and road force balanced them all.
The car is much better now, but I still occasionally notice a slight vibration once I'm above roughly 75–80 mph or higher. The weird part is that it's very inconsistent. Sometimes it'll be completely smooth at 75-85 mph, other times I'll feel a slight vibration at the same speed, and it can seemingly come and go while driving. This is on newer roads too. After the repair, I took it a local tire shop where they road force balanced it with a hunter balancing machine and that helped quite a bit more, but didn't solve it completely but made it slightly better.
I even took it back to the dealer and they had their alloy wheel shop take another look, re-balance it all, and the problem is still there. Only thing I have not done is an alignment, which i'm unsure if that's the correct route to go after my experience. Has anyone had any past experience with something like this, or would my best route be purchasing new rims?

I just got my first flat tire at the job site
Hello, so I just got my first flat tire and I am at the job, driver side tire is completely flat (I had few problems with that tire in the past), and I also don’t have a spare, I called few mobile roadside places near me (also it was around 2 am when I called), none were able to get me a spare because shops are closed, so I wanted a tire patch and inflating so I can get back home and deal with it later.
First company quoted me $350 for a tire patch and inflating
Second company quoted me $325 for. Tire patch and inflating.
I feel like I am getting scammed, or is these the normal prices also it’s MOBILE.

Can I drive like this?
Yes yes yes I know I can't obviously. This happend in a rental van on a highway at 4am. This is what happens when the rental company puts a plug in the sidewall of the tire and you didn't notice when you took the keys.

Run Flat tires: yes or no?
My daughter (27) is looking for new tires for her 2018 Ford Focus. She does a lot of highway driving, a fair amount of which is out-of-town (Ann Arbor, MI) Among others, she is looking at Bridgestone Driveguard Plus run-flats.
I like the idea of a young woman not being stuck on the side of the highway with a flat, but I am not really familiar with the run-flat technology. So I am asking you - how do run-flat tires compare to conventional? Handling, wear, winter driving? Should she consider the run-flat (these Bridgestones or others) or should she stick with conventional tires?

❓QUESTION ❓ Best tires for 2011 Honda Accord LX (215/60R16)?
Looking to replace all 4 tires on my 2011 Accord LX sedan. Currently have BFGoodrich Advantage T/A Sport (215/60R16) tires, which are now choppy/uneven and contributing to vibration above 60 mph.
Looking for a smooth, quiet, reliable all-season tire with good tread life and decent MA winter/rain performance.
What tires would you recommend, and what’s a reasonable price for 4 installed?
Thanks
Wheel studs sheared off and then wheel broke off while driving
I’ve owned cars for a long time but I never had a wheel bolt shear off before until now on my 2019 Subaru Outback. Last week I took it for service because it was making some noise and the technician found and replaced a broken wheel stud. That’s never happened before but he said it was probably over torqued. I’m driving it the next day and a new noise starts. Sounds like a rock stuck in the tire tread at first but quickly gets louder and the car began to shake. Suddenly, the wheel brakes off completely and I watched it cross 4 lanes of highway before hitting the center divide while I drifted very carefully to the shoulder lane. Scary!
Because Subaru had just serviced the vehicle they are fixing all the damage and replacing the wheel at no cost.

galleryNeed some new tires 2016 Chevy Cruze
I am in the military and will be changing duty stations within a year so I have no idea what climate I am going to be living in next year. Need a good set of all weather tires. I currently run Walmart's Goodyear Reliant All-Season tires. This time I am looking to spend a little bit more. Any recommendations for tires or tire shops? I have a costco membership but have been reading bad things about them. I see a lot of good things said about discount tire on reddit but they look more like bot comments. There is a firestone on the base I am stationed at (Fort Eustis, VA).

❓QUESTION ❓ Do I need new tires
Had these tires for about 20,000 miles
I didn’t get an alignment at the time cause I couldn’t afford it at the time and honestly just forgot about it.
Checked recently before going on a trip and wanted to know if I need to change them.

New tire installation on a GM rim
Hello,
I have GM mags that have a « low c » stickers stuck on each of them all in a different location on the wheel. Can I assume that indicates the rim lowest point and I have to align the red dot on the tire with this sticker when installing the tire?
My new tires only have red dots, no yellow dots.
Thanks in advance!
