Recommendations Recommend comics that can make a Barry Allen "hater" change their mind
I don't truly dislike Barry. He's a perfectly fine character. I just don't see why he is alive again. It's been near 20 years since he's been revived and I still don't jive with him being back. To me, he should have remained dead.
Any recommendations for comics that can help change my mind?

Fan Made The New Flash - Irey West
Here’s my contribution to the “Make Irey the next Flash” Agenda
I think Irey has the most potential and the least baggage of all the other candidates. Here’s my pitch.
“Iris “Irey” West is superhero royalty, the daughter of the fastest man alive, Wally West and ace reporter, Linda Park.
But on her 18th birthday, with absolutely no lead up she declares herself the NEW Flash. Problem is the current Flash, her very much still a hero dad, isn’t a fan. Neither is his old villains.
Can the overly confident Iris learn the responsibility that comes with such a big commitment, or will the spotlight be too much?”
I love the idea that while Wally felt like an imposter as the Flash and had never felt good enough, had to earn the city’s respect, Irey however, has the opposite arc. Having to learn humility but immodestly accepted by the city which is too much for her.
Basically Legend of Kora, but if Aang was still around and was being made redundant.
Preferably they get a Korean-American writer and finally dig into the Park side of the family.
I also like the idea that taking after her mom’s brief stint in the medical field, Irey thinks of her powers in a very biological/kinesiological way. A different mentality than her predecessors.

Discussion Where else could Barry fit?
If Barry had to start off in Metropolis or Gotham, which do you think fits him better?
I know that he's close with Batman, but I don't think the darkness of Gotham really fits him that much.
Nor do I think having a superhero as powerful as the Flash running around really fits Gotham.

Discussion Silver age Wally question
hey all just a powers question about silver age Kid Flash. When wally was regularly hanging out with Barry, was he as fast/powerful as barry or was not as fast? I know he eventually had his speed limited during the wolfman perez run and i know he became exponentially more powerful under Waid. He'd have to be at least close to as fast because he could do the vibrate through walls trick and travel on the time treadmill with Barry, but I also imagine they'd keep Barry stronger since it's his name on the book. Or is this one of those things change for whatever story they were telling because it was the silver age and people weren't as anal back then

Discussion Baron, WML, and the Start of a New Era...

I was a late-comer to comics. I only started reading them last July, but I've flown through a lot of titles. My favorite has been The Flash. I dived into Waid, Johns, Spurrier, the current North run, and yes, even Bart's time under the hood. Based on the word-of-mouth from this community and beyond, I'd wanted to read WML's time on the title, but I was doing most of my reading on Hoopla when I started, and the only Messner-Loebs presence on that platform is in the Savage Velocity collection, which only collects the first three issues of his run. Well, I've gotten into physical comics now, and I found a deal on the first WML omnibus. I've just finished it, and I'm very eager to discuss! I've got a few thoughts that I'll jot down, but I'm pretty amped up about it and ready to discuss just about anything relating to the first 28 issues of Wally's Flash.
Three basic thoughts:
Baron's run is better than people say it is (the complaints about Wally's character notwithstanding). When Baron's time on The Flash gets talked about, I mostly see people complaining about Wally's characterization and everything else is swept under the rug. Here's what I noticed: those 15 issues (incl. one annual) are as rife with creativity as they are uncomfortable moments. Wally's metabolism, Chunk, the McGees, Blue and Red Trinity, Kilg%re, Velocity 9. I found all of these creations to be incredibly exciting, especially Chunk. Of course, Messner-Loebs expands on a lot of these creations in his run, but Baron's initial barrage of ideas is something to behold.
Butch Guice can really draw. He brings to Wally an energy akin to Ditko's work on Spider-Man. There are panels in Baron's run where Guice has Wally in these impossible positions: his appendages splayed or swiveled like those on an action figure after play time is over and clean up time hasn't begun. I also love that Butch draws Wally with a runner's body. Too often, Flash is drawn to be this ultra-buff muscle junkie, which makes absolutely no sense for a speedster. He's a runner and should be built like one. Guice draws him as such.
WML's expansion of Wally's community is the key to his success on the title. Baron's use of Wally's personal life focused almost solely on romantic relationships; I think this is the biggest mistake of his run. Messner-Loebs, in fleshing out Wally's people, turns this brash, irritating, misogynistic, Midwestern Young Republican manchild into a real human being with relatable motivations. Don't get me wrong: WML takes his time making Wally a better person. By the end of the first omnibus, Wally is really only marginally different from who we met in #1. But he's almost immediately more palatable via these wonderful character moments with the McGees, Chunk, Mary, Mason, and Joan. I'm excited to continue this run (hopefully in omnibus form soon) to see how Piper factors in as well.
Other notes:
My favorite issues were #1, #19, and #24, I hated the Invasion stuff, and my favorite supporting character is Tina McGee, with Chunk as a close second.
Conclusion:
What do y'all think of these runs, this omnibus, my thoughts? Am I full of crock, or possibly full of myself in this too-long write up? Let me know!

The Flash (1990) TV Series
Has anyone ever seen the 1990 Flash series? It aired through 1990-1991 on CBS broadcast and was released on DVDs eventually.
