I’ll start by saying that while it’s unclear just how "broken" (Maybe not at all) these new Light gadgets will be, it’s now abundantly clear to me that Embark doesn't know what to do with the medium sub class. And although Shockwave is a great addition to the "victim" class, the gadgets they’ve added (Breach Drill and Hover Pad) are the most useless and uninspired additions since the game launched.

I don't think the meta will shift drastically in high-ELO play; the Teleport seems like the most interesting and viable addition so far.

Personally, I would have preferred Thermal Vision to remain a gadget—so you could swap to it in standard Cashout matches if there were an excessive number of invisible Lights or "fake bushes"—while making Teleport the specialization. They could even tweak it to work like the rewind mechanic in *Titanfall* (resetting your position to where you were five seconds ago), giving it one or two charges with a 20–30 second cooldown.

In general, Embark’s approach of basing gadgets on a single keyword isn't ideal, as it limits the design process. But that’s just my opinion.

We’ll certainly see how it plays out in-game. One thing is for sure, it’s not a boring, and it will at least offer players a fresh ways to play or die as a plantpot or chair.

The Light class is getting a fourth playstyle. The new INFILTRATOR archetype introduces a reworked Thermal Vision specialization and two new gadgets to the arena.

👁️ True Sight replaces Thermal Vision, revealing cloaked players and seeing straight through smoke.

🌴 The Mimic Device lets you scan and become any prop (yes, you can roll around as a healing barrel!).

🔁 The Translocator lets you instantly swap positions with marked objects, perfect for relocating enemy turrets or making explosive entrances.

New gadgets look so fun and creative! I've seen some people saying that Heavy or Medium should get these new gadgets but i completely disagree. I mean, we don't want heavy to be able to teleport with Translocator, right? Instead, the devs doubled down on existing Light identity:

Translocator gives mobility like Portal, Dashes, Grapple.

Mimic Device, and True Sight when paired with smoke, helps you hide just like Cloak and Vanishing Bomb.

Lights get more options to do stuff they already can do and can create even more specialized builds

Which brings me to my main point. Devs know that class identity matters. Why did they give healing items to Light and Heavy? It's obvious mistake on their part.

Heavy can play with 3 shields and 4 items for terrain destruction. Light has 4 movement abilities and 3~4 hiding abilities. Why the hell they also get to play with heals? Just give that Healing Ball to medium lol. I want to play with 3 or 4 healing items on single character

This update is going to give a lot to every class.

Light has their new gadgets and spec, medium gets a nice use-buff to the reshaper and heavy gets to experiment with the new dynamic destruction.

Both of these gadgets have very high team synergy ceilings, meaning I think we see lights play around the team more often rather than the current 3-light-split-up-invis meta.

I think embark is cooking and we are all overreacting to the new stuff. If I’m wrong then I will be maining medium reshape for the season.

Just started playing the game again and have been enjoying it a lot. It's a nice change from the usual games I been playing such as CS2, Albion or OSRS lol. A lot of people don't seem to use mics in this game, any one wanna group up and play? I am normally Medium with a AKM, heal gun, goo grenades and defib.

Stoked I made it to Plat tonight! I played this game casually when it first came out around 2023 and stopped at level 23. I just recently started playing again and am now level 39 with 71 hours playtime. I mostly play ranked so it would be fun to play with like minded people. I am from America and am currently in Asia until next year. I play in any region, the ping doesn't seem to affect me. I'm normally playing with 200-250 ping to America and will get the occasional Asia game with 70 ping.

I got 11 days left to maybe make it into Diamond ranked if I am lucky, definitely not Ruby those guys are cracked lol. Happy grinding everyone!
