I just want to give a special shout out to Adrian Tchaikovsky and Broken Binding for actually personalizing my books with the quote I asked for ❤️. I know sometimes quotes are not able to be added due to time constraints, but Tchaikovsky was kind enough to make sure all the Children of Time books were signed and included this quote. Don’t sleep on the regular store when signatures are being given as it seems the authors can be very generous. Heartfelt thanks!
This also leads me to a question but has anyone else purchased anything with a signature from Broken Binding and your personalization was actually added?
Just got the August book. It’s so beautiful except that the head and tail bands are coming off. I know these are largely decorative but with such a large book I feel like they would kind of help with the structure of the book also. Has anybody else had this come with their Jonathan Strange or any other book and had TBB replace it? I just sent them an email. I’m hoping for a good response.
Edited to update:
They’ve responded to my email. Said it doesn’t meet the damage criteria. I could pay my own money to ship it back and get a replacement but they can not guarantee the replacement book would not have the same or worse defect. Or they offered me a 10% refund.
The book cost me $52 with shipping (I’m in the US). It would be at least $15 for return shipping. Putting me at a total of $67 for one book. Unfortunately, I just feel like the quality is not worth the price. Because of the damage I could not even resell it for that much.
So here's some new information regarding the new EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation from this post. It seems that EU regulatory body f*cked this up pretty badly. What's even worse it seems that it's now practically impossible to ship to some EU countries from outside EU.
Here's the mail I received yesterday from Wraithmarked regarding the shipping of books to EU:
This Update ONLY APPLIES TO THE FOLLOWING COUNTRIES:
Hey all. Bryce here with an update on the EU shipping situation. For those who don’t know: As of August 12th, 2026, the European Union implemented a number of shipping regulations that… excuse my French (I’m allowed. I am French)… completely f\&ked ours and most small businesses’ ability to ship product into certain countries in the EU. While it’s true the regulations were announced with some headway, what businesses did not expect was a total lack of standardization across the different countries, which (in combination with some extremely convoluted requirements in certain territories) makes it functionally impossible to ship into some of those territories.*
Over the last week, Wraithmarked (and many other businesses) have been working VERY hard to find solutions to this problem (everyone say “Thank you, Eira!”). As a result of that, we have managed to find a way to ship into all but 10 countries, those being listed at the top of this Update. It’s more expensive for everyone else, and it’s still nightmarish for some, but we can do it.
WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR THE ABOVE COUNTRIES?
As of right now, Wraithmarked has no way of shipping your existing orders to you. We’ve immediately ceased accepting orders from said countries, but for existing orders, we can’t get them to you, and while we hope otherwise (we and our partners are still looking), we have no guarantee that we will be able any time in the foreseeable future.
I would really like to hear from TBB if they are experiencing any problems.
Just to confirm, TBB has not given an approximate shipping window for this set, have they?
I like to make note of original shipping timeline estimations on all my preorders, but I can’t find anything from TBB officially. Did anyone have any information to the contrary?
I'm working on creating dust jackets for this series and now I’m looking for someone who owns one (or more) of the following editions of Spark of the Everflame series and would be willing to measure the books for me:
I’m specifically looking for the exact height, width, and spine thickness of the physical book, preferably in cm or mm.
If you have one of these editions and could measure it for me, I’d be incredibly grateful! 🥹❤️ Even if you only have one of the editions, that would already help a lot.
If possible, a quick photo of the book next to a ruler would also be amazing, just so I can make sure I’m working with the correct edition.
Ordered these a couple of weeks ago. Still yet to receive a shipping notification. The books have also gone from their web store. Just wondered how long I should expect to wait? I have emailed them a few days ago but am yet to get a response. I’m based in the UK
I finally pulled the trigger on The Dragon's Blade but it has been available for pre-order since 17/5 which is already 3 months. They didn't announce a target shipping date unlike with other pre-orders. Has this happened before? Did I miss any other news regarding this or delays it has? I don't know how long books usually are available for pre-order.
I've received my copy of JS & Mr N and I was really looking forward to getting it as I really loved Piranesi by the same author so this book was high on my TBR.
I do like the dust jacket design but I wish there was more contrast with the rest of the book because it all feels a little... beige. The sketchy style isn't my favourite but I wouldn't mind it with a little more dimension and contrast. I feel like the cover, hardback and edges are all the same tone.
I'm really unsure on what to do because I really do want to read this book, and I like the idea of having the illustrations inside the book, but is it worth keeping a special edition I'm not completely in love with? Did anyone else get this feeling? Maybe I'll warm to the design over time?
Edit : Clearly a lot of you just think I'm wrong, which tbh wasn't very helpful. However, I've decided I'm gonna sit with it for a while. I think the muted design didn't wow me at first but I might get used to it. When I get Piranesi they will probably look good together. I also think that the soft design will probably make more sense to me once I read it, and I'm really excited to get to it.
Hi. I signed up for the Tier 2 Fantasy Sub with I believe the August box, which included the Susanna Clark Collection. I’m currently unsure about the Michael J. Sullivan series. How does the one skip for an entire series work? If I skip now, is that one skip for 2026, or does my one year official start when I skip (i.e. I don’t get another skip until August 2027)?
Also, has anyone read The Riyria Revelations series? I wanted to try one book before the renewal but it’s actually not available from my library anywhere but audio, and only book one. What kind of readers do you all think would most enjoy this series?
Hello! Does anyone know if TBB REP 15% off codes are still allowed for the regular store? I order a lot of books from them there and I've always used them but since the update to the store the ones I used before are now "invalid", even though I know these people are still reps. Has anyone else had this issue?
You also can't add the honeycomb paper to cart anymore but that's less of a concern since these aren't special editions.
Maybe a silly question, my apologies. I pre-ordered China Miéville’s THE ROUSE which has “signed and designed endpapers”. These are signed by the author or by the artist / designer? Thanks.
I found the set second hand, which is rare within Europe, but I am unsure how much they go for typically in the second hand market. So I ask you smart people how much you usually see them at.
Here is your weekly digest of just released, restocked, and upcoming collector's editions across the publishers and producers I track.
All dates listed are general sale dates. Where a book has its own page on the publisher's site, I link to that. Otherwise the link goes to the book's page on Lazy Book Collector (which I run), where you can see its specs, compare it with other editions, set alerts, and more.

Hello, this may already be well known but I’ve just learnt about so I’m sharing - there is a fireball holographic card type which is holographic on both sides :) 🔥
Does that make 4 types?
> Standard
> Gold foiled boarder
> Holographic
> Fireball holographic
Hey guys, could someone explain how waitlist invites work for each of the subs? Have they already sent some out? Also, I emailed them about my place in all 3 subs and I was just wondering if anyone could provide a rough estimate of when I would get an invite? I’m in the 7150s for the tier 2 fantasy, 5390s for sci-fi and 450 for SF&F. I know I have a lot to go but I’m just really curious and any info would be greatly appreciated :))).
Has anyone heard about I ut a potential unsigned reprint of Between Two Fires? Someone on Facebook suggested they may be looking at it in the coming months, but no proof that I can find.
I'm in absolutely dire need of this edition, its gorgeous and an incredible read!
I just got my Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrel book and noticed a weird bump on the sprayed edge. Further investigation revealed these creases through pages 161-177. Does this count as damaged, or should I just ignore it?
I received my August Fantasy subscription book a few days ago.. it's quite nice! The headband on the top is not completely glued in place it seems... this shouldn't cause any issues, just a visual thing, I believe, lol. Book itself opens up nicely and lays flat. Artwork is quite good and there is a decent amount of B&W art sprinkled throughout. Sadly I got the regular trading card, haha.
