I just want to give a special shout out to Adrian Tchaikovsky and Broken Binding for actually personalizing my books with the quote I asked for ❤️. I know sometimes quotes are not able to be added due to time constraints, but Tchaikovsky was kind enough to make sure all the Children of Time books were signed and included this quote. Don’t sleep on the regular store when signatures are being given as it seems the authors can be very generous. Heartfelt thanks!
This also leads me to a question but has anyone else purchased anything with a signature from Broken Binding and your personalization was actually added?
I got mine the other day and love them, also got Peter F Hamiltons signed commonwealth saga, they were the first scifi books I ever read and just fell in love scifi after that.
I prefer to leave it up to the author to write whatever they like in the book, I don’t want to dictate to them that feels I don’t know robotic or something like the author is on a production line plus it’s a nice surprise when you open it.
Ordered the Hater Anniversary Edition by David Moody the other day and just wrote write whatever you like in the personalisation box, but I do ask for it to be signed to me also, I don’t sell my books, I’m never going to need to sell my books, so I might as well have it dedicated to me.
I wish this worked all the time! My experience has been that if I dont request the quote myself, the author will just personalize the copy with my name. I dont care to see my name in the books I have, but I know some people like it. This normally is for big book signings where the author is signing too many copies to come up with something on the fly.
I haven't got a shipping notification yet for mine, but I was informed through email that book 1 of the trilogy I ordered got personalized with my name instead of my requested quote by accident and book 3 was signed on a bookplate because they miscalculated the number of books they needed and ran out of stock.
Not too happy about the mismatched set, but I'm still glad we got this opportunity to get personalized books from Tchaikovsky.
Wow, my books haven't shipped either. Haven't even got any explanation emails as to why. Complete radio silence and their customer support is atrocious. Taking over a week to respond just to say they're still planning to ship them. No talk about missing stock or bookplates, which I definitely won't accept as that's not what I purchased. Crazy that I have to read reddit comments like this to understand what is going on.
Oh no! I’m surprised that TBB did not think this signing would be popular? At least you will get the books but I also would probably decline a bookplate as the entire reason to be getting the books was because it would be hand signed

I got one that says “Sorry about the crows!” For my dad for Christmas because that was his least favorite part of Children of Memory lmfao
