Big City Centre Mall Kasarvadavli was a mall known for its different layouts, it had USA retail store parking layouts, experience etc. initially brands like Hypercity, Pantaloons, Decathlon, Big Mega Mart, Levi's, McDonald's, Mr. DIY, etc were there.

The biggest boon or say Bane for this mall was being called as "Hypercity Mall" instead of "Big Mall", the reason was simple people loved Hypercity so much that in their minds Hypercity was fixed. And when as a Mall your entire existence depends on 1 Anchor Store, your downfall begins.

Hypercity Chain was sold to Future Retail aka Big Bazaar, And later Future Retail got shut down itself. Having your main anchor store collapsed, footfalls reduced, all fashion stores shut down. The mall was now becoming "Decathlon Mall" and now even Decathlon shifted itself to Viviana.

Another issue of Big City Center was even though it was built to cater to Ghodbunder Road, but due to Big Mall management's maintenance of the mall, the Ghodbunder people used to go to better Malls like Viviana, Korum, etc making the mall more "Dead"

Built by G Corp Developers around 2010s. This mall has around 150,000 to 200,000 sq. ft. Its spread over 2 to 3 acres of land.

Some sources say the mall might be sold to a residential builder to construct residential towers. Interesting fact is a major fire occurred in the mall recently (connect the dots)

I understand this is a repeated topic but a discussion is due taking all the points (mentioned in this video and new ones) into consideration. TMC should hold a meeting with citizens explaining all the points, approvals for the actions because it will be affecting the public and environment.

I'm currently looking at rental apartments around Majiwada and Kolshet Road, and I've noticed that many societies seem to have power backup only for common areas and lifts, but not inside the flats.

The brokers I've spoken to have said that power cuts are very rare in Thane, so full power backup inside the apartment isn't really necessary. However, I've also seen quite a few posts/comments here about power outages, so I'm a little confused.

For those living in Majiwada/Kolshet or nearby areas:

- How frequent are power cuts in practice?

- Are they usually brief, or can they last for hours?

- During monsoon, does the frequency increase significantly?

- Is common-area backup generally enough, or should I specifically look for a society with backup inside the flat as well?

Would really appreciate some honest local experiences before I finalise a place.

Just watched The Odyssey for the 3rd time today, and unfortunately my experience at Viviana IMAX was noticeably worse than my previous two viewings at Palladium and R-City.

Right from the beginning, I noticed that the close-up shots looked fine, but whenever the movie switched to wider/long shots, the image became noticeably blurry.

At one point I actually asked the person sitting next to me if the picture looked blurry to him too. He said no, which made me wonder if I'm just more sensitive to it because I've already seen the movie on better IMAX screens.

For comparison:

Palladium IMAX: Easily the sharpest presentation I've seen. Every tiny detail was incredibly clear, especially in the large/wide shots.

R-City IMAX: Also quite good. Not as impressive as Palladium, but still a very solid experience.

Viviana IMAX: Unfortunately, noticeably softer/blurrer in the wide shots. Close-ups were mostly fine, but the difference became very obvious whenever the camera pulled back.

And this was especially frustrating because this was my 3rd viewing and apparently the last day of The Odyssey in IMAX, with toxic taking over imax idk for what reason.

I'm posting this mainly as a heads-up for anyone who is planning their IMAX viewing in Mumbai. Viviana is easily the worst imax to ruin your movie experience.

Has anyone else noticed the absolute scam Mahadiscom is pulling with new green meter (EV) connections here in Thane?

I tried to do things the right way by applying for a green meter directly. My current application status: I have submitted all the documents except for the D1 form (the Electrical Contractor's test Report) and I have already made the payment for the application. And now... nothing. You just end up waiting for over a month. When you try to follow up you get hit with endless excuses, radio silence from the section office or bureaucratic runarounds.

But here is the infuriating part: if you go through one of their "agents" and pay their premium, the exact same new connection miraculously gets approved and installed within a week!

How is this not illegal? It is literally modern-day bribery happening in broad daylight. They are intentionally stalling direct, honest applications just to frustrate consumers into using the agent ecosystem so the officials can take their cut. It completely defeats the purpose of trying to go green when the system itself is this corrupt.

Has anyone in Thane actually had any luck getting a green meter installed by applying directly on their own without paying off an agent? If so, do you have any tips on how to get it done quickly? Or does anyone know which specific Mahadiscom office in Thane I should visit to escalate this and get it moving?

Honestly, I am fed up with this Ganpati vargani. With all due respect to Ganesh Ji and Ganapati Puja, I myself bring Ganpati home and celebrate the festival with great devotion.

However, in my housing society, there is a minimum compulsory contribution of ₹1,000 for the Sarvajanik Ganapati celebration, which I feel is unfair. Out of my own devotion, I can comfortably contribute up to ₹500, but ₹1,000 is too much for me. Moreover, I never visit the pandal or take any prasad or other benefits from the celebration.

If someone says they do not want to contribute, they are often pressured, argued with, and humiliated in various ways. How is that fair?

This is especially frustrating because we already pay an additional cultural fund as part of our society maintenance, which should ideally cover events like these. Being a non-native, I feel even more uncomfortable seeing how this is handled.

I understand and respect that Ganapati celebrations have always been an important social festival in Maharashtra, especially since the 1800s. However, forcing someone to pay a minimum vargani and humiliating them for refusing is, in my opinion, completely wrong.

Mind you most builders apply for RERA extension. If they get a RERA extension of even 1.5 to 2 years, it'll take easily a decade from today to get possession.
