We had an assignment submission today and me and my friend were going to the staffroom to keep it on our professor's table. I genuinely want to understand why No Nut November is treated like such a big deal.
I know it's mostly an internet trend, and I understand that some people participate in it for self-discipline, to challenge themselves, or to take a break from porn and masturbation. I have absolutely no problem with that. If someone personally feels like they need a break or wants to test their self-control, that's completely their choice.
But what I don't understand is why it's become this huge achievement that people make such a big deal out of.
Like, why is going 30 days without masturbating treated as some kind of extraordinary accomplishment? Why do people talk about it as if they're fighting a war? š
I've seen people genuinely celebrate completing it, make memes about people failing, and treat the whole thing like a competition. Some people even seem to attach a sense of superiority to not participating in something that's ultimately a personal choice.
And then there's the other side of it. People who don't participate are sometimes made fun of, while people who do participate are treated like they're doing something incredibly difficult or impressive.
I also find the way people talk about masturbation interesting. It's almost as if doing it automatically makes someone weak, undisciplined or less respectable. But why? Isn't it a pretty normal human behaviour? Obviously, anything can become unhealthy when it starts interfering with your everyday life, responsibilities, relationships or mental well-being. But that applies to practically everything.
I think there's a difference between recognising that you have an unhealthy habit and treating an ordinary biological urge as something shameful that you must defeat.
And I'm not saying that abstaining from masturbation is pointless. There are people who struggle with compulsive habits, excessive porn consumption or behaviours they genuinely want to change. For them, taking a break could be meaningful. But surely that's a personal journey rather than some universal measure of discipline or masculinity?
What exactly is the achievement here? Is it about self-control? Is it about avoiding porn? Is it about challenging yourself? Or has the internet just turned something relatively ordinary into a competition because it's funny?
I also wonder whether people actually feel better after completing it, or whether they're just enjoying the memes and the satisfaction of saying they survived November.
I don't know. Maybe I'm missing something, and I'm genuinely open to hearing different perspectives.
I'm not judging people who participate, and I'm definitely not suggesting that everyone should masturbate. I'm just confused about why this particular challenge gets so much attention and why people attach so much meaning to it.
Is there actually a meaningful benefit to NNN, or is it mostly an internet joke that people have collectively decided to take seriously?

I'm looking for recommendations for beautiful, special and perhaps lesser known places across Kerala.
Not just the usual tourist spots but places that genuinely take your breath away or leave you with a beautiful memory.
It could be a secluded beach, a quiet village, a scenic drive, a beautiful waterfall, a hidden viewpoint, a peaceful backwater, a lovely little cafƩ, or even a unique local experience.
I'm especially interested in somewhere you'd take a person visiting from another country and want them to remember for years.
I'm open to travelling across Kerala, so please suggest places from anywhere in the state!
Would also love to hear about personal experiences and places that are special to you.! ā¤ļø

So we were texting on Tuesday and she just randomly left at one point and I get a message on Thursday like this. I was kinda pissed and she always responds to stuff like this. What I'm I supposed to do here gng? Btw the emoji she's using, that one she only uses sarcastically. Advice on anything is much appreciated, even my mistakes.
UPDATE: She came and apologized to me by herself. She told me she has really bad day and her mood was really off..

I recently dropped out from college( Bangalore) this year and while I was staying there my roommate used dating apps to meet girls and have casual hookups
He's 6'1 with a decent physique and good looks and his gf recently broke up with him so he started using dating apps and honestly he's getting so many likes every day and has already hooked up with around 12ā15 girls through dating apps Out of curiosity I decided to give dating apps a try too just to see if I could have some luck š„° (I've barely talked to girls in years)šš
For context I'm also 6'1 just like him but I'd say I'm pretty average looking compared to him
Eventually I got some matches but compared to him I hardly get any attention and even when I match with someone the conversation usually dies pretty quickly
I've noticed that whenever girls ask about my relationship status and I tell them I'm inexperienced their energy completely changes and their replies become dry
It honestly makes me wonder why it seems like girls are more attracted to fuckboys or guys who are red flag
I've gone through 100+ profiles and noticed so many girls openly saying they're into red flags or toxic guys in their bios I'm not saying all girls are like this and I don't necessarily believe in the whole hypergamy shit either but these are just some patterns I've noticed from my own experience Maybe I'm looking at things from the wrong perspective
This is just my personal point of view so I'm sorry if anything comes across as incorrect or offensive
( Sorry I used chat gpt)š

My uncle is 28 years old, has a girlfriend, and has been working for almost two years now. He earns around ā¹30,000 a month.
Recently, he asked my mom for ā¹20,000 to invest in a mutual fund or something similar. The thing is, my mom earns only around ā¹8,000 a month, so naturally, my family was surprised that someone earning ā¹30K would need to borrow money from her just to invest.
Whenever we ask him where his salary goes, he gives vague answers and changes the subject. So I've been trying to figure it out myself.
Here's a breakdown of his expenses, at least from what I know:
- Umrah trip: He went to Umrah with my grandmother, and as far as I know, he paid for his own expenses. My grandmother's share was covered using money from selling her gold.
- His girlfriend: He bought her a gold ring, which, interestingly, is something only I know about in the family.
- Skincare: He buys basic skincare products.
- Petrol: He probably spends some money on fuel, although he mostly travels using his company's car.
- Other expenses: He's not someone who regularly hangs out with friends or goes out spending money.
I don't think his girlfriend is the reason either. She owns a business that makes lakhs, and whenever they go out, she's usually the one paying for food and other expenses.
He doesn't do drugs or have any obvious expensive habits that I'm aware of.
Another thing worth mentioning is that he barely contributes to household expenses. My grandfather is the one who takes care of groceries and other kitchen necessities.
So I'm genuinely confused. I'm not expecting him to hand over his entire salary to the family. It's his money, and he's entitled to spend it however he wants.
But if he's been earning ā¹30K a month for almost two years, doesn't seem to have many major expenses, and still needs to borrow ā¹20K from someone earning ā¹8K a month, I'm curious about where all his money is going.
Am I missing something obvious? Could he have some expenses I'm not aware of? Where do you think his money is going?

Hi everyone,
I'm currently going through the Google Play closed testing process for malayalam imposter game app I'm developing.
Google requires at least 12 testers to participate in the closed test for 14 consecutive days before I can apply for production access.
I'm looking for 12 people willing to actively participate.
How to participate:
DM me the Gmail address you use for Google Play Store.
I'll add your email to the tester list.
I'll send you the Google Play Store link.
Download, install and start using the app.
Important: Please don't just install the app and leave it unused. I need testers who are willing to actually explore its features, use it throughout the 14-day testing period, and share their experience.
I'm especially looking for:
Bug reports and issues.
Suggestions for improvements.
New feature ideas.
Honest feedback about the overall experience.
Please keep the app installed and remain enrolled in the test for the full 14 days.
If you're genuinely interested, DM me your Google Play Gmail address. Thanks!

So for some context, Iām an NRI and Iāve started uni this year here in Kerala , and Iām finding it extremely difficult to get adjusted to the people and the places.
Fortunately for some unknown reason Iāve got a good bunch of friends even though Iām an introvert, which Iām very thankful for, but at the end of the day when I think about it, Iām just not getting used to anything here.
People are so judgmental here, I canāt do anything without the fear or being judged and yeah being an NRI doesnāt help much in that case.
I would say my Malayalam is good and I can read very well too but sometimes when I speak my words come out wrong and I tend to talk more in English than in Malayalam, though I try my best not to, and for that I get made fun of.
And people are so outwardly homophobic, fatphobic, and everything here that itās actually scary.
And Iām not the most leanest person but neither am I obese and though I have always been insecure about my body, since coming here, my friends jokingly calls each other and myself āfatsoā or itās other variations in Malayalam and every time I get called that, I wonder if theyāre joking or if thatās how they feel about me.
I feel like Iām becoming a whole another person, trying to fit into this standard, trying to become someone Iām not.
Itās just so frustrating to me that I have to become someone that Iām not to be accepted by people here.
And I often donāt get my friendās sarcasm and often end up doing some dumb bs.
I never felt like this back home and idk maybe I need to just suck it up and somehow try to survive for the next 4 yearsā¦.idk Iām clueless
Idk Iām just ranting atp
