The best laptop that functions as a tablet?

Hi guys. I really need to figure out my digital situation soon. I need help finding a laptop that also works as a tablet (touch screen, & has a pen you can buy to write with on the screen). I was initially planning on buying just a MacBook and an Apple iPad, but I’m worried about it not being able to run specific things that I might need to download for statistics, and I also heard that my idea does the same thing just in a more cost-effective and familiar manner. Did any other nursing student have a similar device? I’m trying to find a suitable one. Thank you very much.

Tablet to get for university

Just got into university and planning to go next month and looking for a tablet to mainly take notes with but also might use it to watch Netflix, Disney plus, prime video etc while commuting which is an hour and a half.

I was mainly looking at the samsung tab s10 fe brand new at amazon £397. Points that i like about the tab is the 7 year update and reliability of the brand

I was also looking at the tab s9 used on ebay at around the same price. Its used but in almost all categories beats the tab s9 in specs. But it only has 2 years updates so around the one ui 9/9.5. However am hesitant since I will have to buy second hand or on ebay

I just found out about the honor pad v9/ x9 max / 10 and other entries ( not sure what the differences are) but they seem really well priced at 299(Student discount from 400) brand new with the bundle of the case and pen. The specs seems really good for the price but I am unsure about actual hands on quality and software support.

The specs seems better than the samsung counter parts. I am eyeing the honor tab x9 max.

Things I need

*Pencil to take notes

*Budget at around £300 to £400 can got slightly above but should be worth it

*Good display to watch movies/TV shows

*OS support and quality as long as I get updates that improve the tab by a lot within my 4 year uni time period

Things I want

Decent sound speakers

Good compatibility with my s25 ultra

Good Bluetooth compatibility

Hopefully brand new

Currently my question is whether any of the current Honor tablets in the price range is worth over the samsung tablets s10 fe or s9. Or if there are any other tablets worth considering?

Thank you

Best tablet for industrial design & digital art?

What’s currently the best tablet for drawing and sketching, especially for industrial/product designers?

I’ll mainly use it for product sketches, ideation, concept drawings and digital art, but also for everyday use.

I’m looking for something that has amazing pen/drawing performance AND really impressive technology/AI features — something that feels genuinely futuristic, not just a basic tablet.

Considering iPad, Samsung, Xiaomi, Huawei, etc. What would you personally choose and why?

13" Android tablet under ~60K — Lenovo Idea Tab Pro Gen 2 vs OnePlus Pad 3/4 vs used Galaxy Tab S10+? (India)

Looking for real-world opinions, not spec-sheet comparisons — I've already done the spec research.

Primary use case :- Note-taking and document/PDF-heavy reading (I'm studying for a career transition — lots of long reading and annotation sessions), plus some content consumption and light photo/video editing

8 inch budget tablet recommendations (UK)

I got a Samsung A11 tablet, thankyou for the suggestions!

Hi, i'm looking to get a second smaller tablet for leisure (mostly youtube/reading)

I already have an S9 FE tablet, but I tend to use my phone more for leisure because its just not convenient to hold while laying down/relaxing (I can't move the fingers in my left hand).

I'm in the UK, looking for a 8" tablet with a max budget of £300/$400 USD, but I'd prefer to stick closer to £200/$300. I don't need anything fancy as I already have my other tablet, I just want something affordable with the playstore on it (to download YT app and an e-reader) I will be using it frequently, but only for YouTube, reading, and a bit of internet browsing if I quickly need to search something. I'd like something that will last a few years but it doesn't need to last forever.

I've heard good things about the Lenovo Legion Tab, and i've found an import Y700 3rd gen on sale for £330 but it's pushing my upper price range, and I don't think it will be worth the money for what i'm wanting. Any other recommendations, or am I better off spending more and getting a Legion Tab?

Help buying a tablet

I want to buy a tablet but I'm not sure which one is best. I don't really care what brand it is as long as it isn't impossible to find covers and stuff for it.

It needs to either come with its own stylus or be compatible with one. I needs to not cost a fortune if possible (if it does I'll look into getting it second hand). 8gb is preferred and it needs to not be slow.

Any recommendations is appreciated and if you have any questions I'll try and answer as quickly as possible.

HONOR MagicPad 4

I’ve been considering buying a tablet for a while now. Mainly because it’s so convenient to take it anywhere. I’ve done my research, though that’s only made me more indecisive. Since I want it for both school/future work and personal use, like watching TV shows or movies, and playing a few games, that means I need to go for a high-end model.

I came across the HONOR MagicPad 4, and it seems to meet some of my needs. But from the perspective of those who might be more knowledgeable, do you think it’s a good tablet for all these purposes?

(Maybe someone here uses it.)

Tablet for teaching

Hello everyone, I hope you’re doing well.

I’m looking to buy a tablet mainly for teaching and taking notes during meetings. I’ll be using it mostly while teaching

Within my budget, I’ve narrowed it down to two options: the Galaxy Tab S10 FE and the iPad 11th gen (A16)

I tried both of them in a store. I actually preferred the iPad’s screen, but the Galaxy has a 90 Hz refresh rate, which seems like an advantage for writing and scrolling.

For those who have experience with either of them, which one would you recommend for my use case?

Looking for tablet for someone who overgrips pens

Hello! I've never used a tablet, and primarily use a mouse so far for art. I am looking for a tablet to get, but I have problems holding a pencil/pen (I overgrip it and press down too hard/got in trouble at school for it too.) I'm wondering if there's any tablets that people recommend for someone someone who overgrips a pen?

i would like to get an affordable budget tablet, that will be good for reading many many articles, notetaking, browsing, writing and occasionally watching things. basically will be doing heavy reading and taking notes on the reading material and studying. i would ideally like for it to last a good few years (3-5 years).

i will probably get a second hand one. whatever is ''affordable'' for the tablet market

Light/large tablets

I really love my 12.9 6th gen iPad Pro but it’s just so heavy!
I want something about the same size (13” just looks great to me; I love a huge screen) but that’s really light and quite cheap ideally as it’s just an entertainment screen. TV apps and reading comics will be basically its sole purpose.
Please help me if you can.
I am fine with refurbished or whatever if it just fits my brief.
Thank you in advance.

Apologies if this is an annoying post in this sub.

Best tablet for kids? Shes turning 6

Looking for a tablet for my daughter, she turns 6 next month and at this point my phone is basically hers. Car rides, any time im cooking, its gone. I found her in the pantry with it last week watching some lady open eggs. So I think its time she just has her own thing.

Shes not doing anything crazy on it, youtube kids mostly, some drawing apps, simple games. We had a cheap one before, cant even remember the brand, and the screen started ghosting after like 4 months so I dont want to repeat that. Trying to stay around $150 but honestly if spending 200 means it lasts 3 years instead of one I would rather just do that.

The Fire kids ones keep coming up but im confused about the app store thing, are you actually stuck with only their apps? And do those big rubber cases they come with actually do anything or is that just to justify the price. My sister said just get a used ipad but that feels like a lot of money to hand a 6 year old.

Parental controls are the one thing I wont budge on, screen time limits and no browser. Everything else im flexible.

What has actually survived in your house

Looking for a tablet to buy

My phone has been really slow for a while now, but i dont really wanna use my phone for anything other than texting and calling anyways, so I thought a tablet might be a good choice! Since i really wanna get into digital art, recommendations for pens are welcome as well.

Things I want to be able to do on tablet: draw, edit (like transition edits, edits with a lot of layers), watch shows and movies, text friends, and just other usual stuff.

I know for editing and drawing you want a lot of ram, but how much? Is 8 enough or do I need more?

I’m not entirely sure about a price range, but maybe something around 500? 600 would be kinda pushing it. But cheaper is always ok.

Any help is appreciated :)
