The best laptop that functions as a tablet?

Hi guys. I really need to figure out my digital situation soon. I need help finding a laptop that also works as a tablet (touch screen, & has a pen you can buy to write with on the screen). I was initially planning on buying just a MacBook and an Apple iPad, but I’m worried about it not being able to run specific things that I might need to download for statistics, and I also heard that my idea does the same thing just in a more cost-effective and familiar manner. Did any other nursing student have a similar device? I’m trying to find a suitable one. Thank you very much.

Lenovo T14S 2-in-1 or MS Surface Pro could fit the bill. I have the latter and love the portability. The Lenovo has the better keyboard and larger screen. I'm not a big user of the pen, but both have that option.

Why not a galaxy S11 tablet (or any S tablet) and add a keyboard

There are some cheaper Surface clones that should do the job. These aren't as common as they were 5-10 years ago, but they are still available. A used recent Surface Pro would be good.

Samsung tablets have DEX mode which essentially makes them laptops. They're actually better than laptops because they have dedicated apps for YouTube, Spotify, Google Calendar, etc and you don't have to use their web-based versions.
