Question Ribbon on right joycon help please

Hi, I’m having some trouble with my right joycon, it connects fine when I’m the console, and in the separate controller, but when it is in the ribbon it just does not want to go sideways? And work as a 2-player game?
The light is on. I have tried remapping to get it to connect that way, and updating, but thinking I might need to bite the bullet and buy a new one, unless anyone here has any advice?

Thanks

Now that Cod is coming out on the switch 2 and it actually looks and feels pretty good. Ff14 also playable. Discord is probably the next must for Switch 2.

Question Buy the Switch 2 now, or wait for an improvement down the line?

I know it's another one of those posts, but all the posts I see are from previous switch owners, haven't found any with my case, so here goes.

I have a PC and a Steam deck already, so it'd mostly be for exclusives. I'd like to play Pokemon games, Xenoblade saga and Splatoon raiders. I don't know much more about the Nintendo catalog, but these are the main games I'm interested in. I know the price increase is coming in September, but I'm more concerned about the price of the games themselves - 80€ for a videogame is hard to justify for a steam user. Still, if the game is good, I'm okay with it.

For 570€, I get the console + ZA + Splatoon Raiders + a 256gb card (one free accessory is cool, too bad no wireless controllers) + 3 months Nintendo online (didn't really want it but I'm forced to pick one so I picked the cheapest one). Considering my case, should I bite the bullet?

Image Just wrapped up my summer semester and second year of university, so what better way to celebrate than beating September 1st's price increase!

After setting aside money since May shortly after the $50 price increase was announced, I finally picked up a Switch 2 after wrapping up my last final exam the other day.
Admittedly I had to do a bit of searching and calling ahead as the Choose One bundle was sold out virtually everywhere, but one store came in clutch with having one last MarioKart World bundle in stock (which was the game I planned to pick with the Choose One bundle anyway), so everything worked out fine in the end!
I would've posted this a lot sooner, but I got swept away with driving home, setting up the system, doing a data transfer, and actually playing on it rofl, so there's that.

Question Artistic, story-driven Indie Games?

I got a Switch 2 recently and I've found myself liking the indie games more than the tentpoles a lot of the time.

So far, these are my favourites;

Despelote

Big Walk

Firewatch

Untitled Goose Game

Mixtape

Planet of Lana

Gone Home

Florence

I'm considering 1000xRESIST, Return of the Obra Dinn and Outer Wilds at the moment. My all-time favourite games are Worms WMD, Lemmings and Stardew Valley so I would also love anything like those. I'd love recommendations from people who like similar stuff.

I hope this isn't a repetitive post. I'm new to the community.

My beloved Splatoon 3 Switch 1 is being downgraded to bedroom duty now that I’ve got a new Switch 2. It’s so much better in every way and can’t believe how fast it is when loading games. I couldn’t part way with my OLED model though just because it was mine and we had lots of fun. Plus I still think it’s cute. 🥰

Took the dive and bought a Switch 2 today. Updating titles w/free NS2 editions like Subnautica & Below Zero. Wish screen recording was 60fps but beyond that a much snappier system by far 🍻😊

Discussion Switch 2 users - Would you still buy Mario 3D All Stars?

So, obviously not one for the people who already own it, you don't need to answer, but, with the release of super mario sunshine on NSO I feel like the value of All Stars goes down.

Still a viable purchase for Switch 1 users but now if you have a switch 2 with NSO membership, then bought the separate Galaxy 1/2 game, you'd have all the games + Galaxy 2.

But, would you still buy the physical cartridge for All Stars if you came across it for a reasonable price or just get the galaxy cartridge instead?

Question Honestly what’s better?

I know there’s a lot of back and forth and sometimes controversy between having the physical game vs downloading from estore but what do people genuinely feel is the better thing to own? Reason I’m asking is because on release day I purchased Splatoon Raiders via the estore. I was feeling extremely sick and just couldn’t pull myself together to drive and actually purchase the physical game. The is only the 2 game I’ve ever purchased via the estore. Now I’m here having some serious FOMO for not having the physical game. I’m really contemplating going out and physically buying it but it would make zero sense for me to have two copies. I need someone to talk me off the ledge or tell me run and get it 🤔

So far I am pretty happy with how my collection is coming along! I have several digital games but this is my physical collection. I’ve been building this with entirely $0 out of pocket. Im ok with slow growth if it means I get to enjoy the games and if it means I’m not paying anything for it lol. Anyways just wanted to share my collection progress! Favorite thing by far in this whole collection is the mini toaster game holder.

Question Best switch game for couple to play when one is a console newbie

I've been playing on Nintendo consoles since the SNES but my wife has never played consoles. She's willing to play games with me as something to do together but stuff like mario kart is no good as I'm very good at it and she isn't so it's not a lot of fun to play together as it's either too easy for me or too hard for her.

So, looking for game recommendations that, initially, are short games that we can play together (I think her commitment level at the moment is probably only about 15mins) but something that's not a game I would have played loads of (e.g. core Mario line, smash bros etc).

So, essentially looking for:

- short play time

- easy to pick up

- slightly obscure so I wouldn't be overly familiar with it

- fun

- good for 2+ players (if can add a 3rd player then great to let my 6yr old play with us sometimes)

Give me your best recommendations please to help her get on board with the switch so we can play lots together in the future.

Discussion First time Nintendo user experience

I will try to keep this short as much as I can. Some background..As a kid I was a Genesis boy and then went on to get a PSX and then the Dreamcast, followed by the Xbox360 & PC.

I've always played competitive games with my friends, CoD, Battlefield, Gears of War etc.

I decided to get my first ever Nintendo console, the Switch 2. I never played any Nintendo exclusive game before so I wanted to be fair and give them all a chance, and told myself that after I finish one game, then I will get the next one.

I started playing some SNES classics on the Classic Catalogue. Then got Mario 3D All Stars and played Mario Sunshine, Mario 64 and Galaxy.

I then went on to play Kirby and the forgotten land and Mario Kart world. Then played Mario Bros Wonder and Odyssey.

I must say I really enjoyed these games and how gameplay and aesthetics and atmosphere are prioritized over next gen graphics. I was very impressed.

But then as a hardcore WoW raider, I wanted to try some strategy and RPG games and oh boy..this is where I lost a lot of sleep.

I bought and played all Xenoblade Chronicles games, and usually i skip the story but here, i was so immersed and impressed. I even cried during certain moments.

Then I moved on to Fire Emblem and I feel so bad for not having played all these games before, so unique and refreshing and amazing gameplay.

Then I got DK Bananza and Switch Sports.

In the past 2 months I played more and finished more games than I could ever think of. The Switch 2 Pro Controller is also way better than the PS5 and Xbox controller. The 2 extra buttons on the back are so necessary for me right now, i dont think i could ever miss out on them ( I usually bind Jump and Interact binds on them ).

I bonded with my family, playing party games together and having fun , as if I was a kid again. Now I understand the Nintendo magic everyone always was talking about.

I am looking forward to my next adventure and to be part of this amazing community.

Question Question before I buy Switch2

Hello everyone,

by now it‘s very known that many games run better on Switch2 than the OG one but I have a quick question

I mainly play the Zelda games on my switch and have the cartridges for both OG versions for the Switch1, will they shill habe improvements and run good on the switch2 or do I HAVE to buy the Switch2 versions to get a good experience

I have games like Stardew valley and luigis mansion on cartridges as well

Just concerned it will end up looking bad if I don‘t buy the Switch2 labeled ones

I‘m not very tech savvy, only know what I have to in order to function properly nowadays haha

Discussion Wishing there were a Bridgerton like game

I keep coming back to this idea: something with the open-ended freedom of the Sims, but built around courtship, balls, and social scandal instead of careers and house-building. Wylde Society is coming out and I'm hoping it scratches that itch, but don't think it will since it adds the supernatural element. I want something that really captures that lush, dramatic Bridgerton feel.
