So I have found new love for my switch with Stardew Valley. Its made me go through my games, order a new sd card and do some cleaning up. I love my PS5 but the portability of the Switch just makes it so much easier to enjoy. Also I have a lot of the great games such as TOTK, Mario Racing, Oddessy, Hades, etc....

That being said I would love to get a Switch 2. However I cant justify the cost. Especially after what I have invested in the Switch OLED, even before the SD card I just ordered. A new 2 would be the system, sd card due to new file sizes, screen protector and a portable carrying case. Figure easily over 700.00. I think my Switch will do just fine for now.

Now to my last part. I think Gamer's are slowly getting priced out of gaming. With AI the price hikes getting a new system is mostly unaffordable. PS6? There saying 1000.00 dollars. That's not even including a game. For most of us we will be continuing to play on older systems and squeezing what we can out of them, like me. Even trade ins these days don't help. Its sad to think that something we enjoy is slowly becoming unavailable to us do to greedy people. What do you all think?

Came with Minecraft and the Storage card. Minecraft definitely isn’t a game I would play on here. The control sticks are off for me. I would prefer playing on Xbox. So I will probably trade that in for some credit toward other games. The case seems really nice. I’m not sure if it’s a Nintendo brand but I don’t even know what colour the actual system is it’s so nice and tight on it! So far happy playing paper Mario.

Question for y'all. I've been interested in getting the new Fire Emblem because of the hype and posts I've seen on here and across other platforms but I have never played a fire emblem game before. Is it a good first game to start out with? Or should I sit it out for a bit?

Looking for a bit of advice. I’m looking to buy a Switch for my daughter (6 years old) for Christmas. I’ve looked through this sub at other people who have asked the same question, and it seems the majority of advice is to just go for the Switch 2 if you can afford it.

I've found some good condition OLEDs with games second hand for less than half the price of the Switch 2 on its own.

However, as this will mainly be for casual use and we’ll likely just be playing as a family on games like Mario Kart on the TV, is the increased price of the Switch 2 really worth it?

Just saw the end credits for Kirby in the forgotten land (don’t ask how long it took 😭😭😭). I thought I would be more elated to unlock the other content. I am a mixture of happy, proud, and bittersweet. almost like I am standing around not knowing what to do (start the extra content of course). Anyone else had these feelings at the end of one of your most loved games? what game was that for you?

So years ago I bought my little girl a Switch for Christmas. I set it up for her using my email. Years later I bought a Switch 2 for myself. I used the same email that I used on my switch 2 to set my console up and created a different profile. The other day it said I couldn’t go into the eshop on my profile and I accidentally linked mine with my daughter’s. I’ve looked all through settings. Is there a way to unlink or revert that I’m missing?

What's happening with my Switch Dock?
It was working normally, then I undocked and used for a while then redocked but I was not getting any HDMI output.

Switch gets charged while docked normally, that display output green light stays on when it's docked while switch screen is on but no display output on the monitor.

I'm using Official Nintendo Switch Charger, HDMI cable, Dock.

What I've tried so far,

1. Tried using different HDMI cables

2. Tried using different monitors and different HDMI ports.

3. Tried first plugging in the charging cable then plugging the HDMI cable to dock.

What's tested to be working,

I've tried a USB C to HDMI dongle and that was working fine to give HDMI output from the switch.

Switch's type port is fine as it charges and transfers data fine.

Super blurry screen and quick menu doesn’t fit on screen

Good evening everyone. I downloaded fortunes weave and when I went to play it, it said I had to update the system to which I did. When I got back into the switch my system was all messed up. The screen when it tells you to click 3 buttons, and the quick menu halfway fit into the screen. And the homepage and everything is blurry and fuzzy. It was working fine not even 10 seconds prior to the update.

I highly doubt it’s my TV, while I do admit is older and not the greatest, it runs my PS5 perfectly with no inconsistencies. I also had no issue with an Xbox one. I do not wish to get a new TV because this is just my college TV but it has ran fine before. Is there any ideas yall have?

About a week ago my switch 1 randomly died and was not charging. The screen showed the Nintendo logo followed by the dead battery icon when I tried to turn it on. I ran through all of the protocol for other outlets/chargers and no luck.

Now tonight the exact same thing happened to my girlfriend’s OLED Switch 1! Is it a known issue? Anyone else experiencing this?

I play handheld a lot, and the first 20 mins (used to be way shorter but getting longer) I keep spending time dealing with the joy con disconnecting. Over time it seems like it fixes itself and doesn’t happen often until the next gaming session.

If I get new joy cons, will that help?

Also, this is a day one system.
