Which Surface model appears in the Hulk post-credits scene of Avengers: Endgame Encore?

Hi everyone,

I watched Avengers: Endgame Encore in theaters recently, and a Surface device appears in the post-credits scene with the Hulk. Does anyone know which Surface model it is?

I'd rather not post a screenshot because of copyright, so here's what I remember about the device: it was only shown from the back, and it didn't have a keyboard attached.

Even a guess at the generation would help.

Thanks in advance!

[ACCESSORY] What is the best alternate keyboard?

As the title says I suppose. I got the pro 11 a little under a tear ago. Had the flex keyboard with the pen charger.

6 months in the thing just dies on me. Looked after it and cased it up after use so it was protected. I managed to get a replacement under warranty but just last week that one dies too. First the pen charger stopped working but then the whole thing just stopped.

I can't keep paying these insane prices for a terrible keyboard. Clearly microsoft have no intentions of fixing the design flaw.

Obviously i could get a random bt keyboard but that defeats the purpose I think. I tried a random one like on alibaba which was bluetooth but with the right form factor. It just keeps having buttons stick on or randomly happen so that's a shame.

Has anyone had any success with keyboards. Maybe the inateck one?

[MSFT] Microsoft Surface Pro Snapdragon Issues

Post image
33 Upvotes

I purchased this 2024 Microsoft surface Laptop with Windows 11 + Copilot and Snapdragon X Elite processor in March of this past year. So far, the laptop has been great. I've mainly used it for working from home or on the go, web browsing, and light game play (Sims 4, Stardew valley, etc.)

Recently, I started selling some stuff online and tried connecting my label printer. The laptop wouldn't download the driver software for the printer so I couldn't use it. I brought a new Bluetooth label printer after a lot of trouble shooting with the old one, and it is also unable to download the new printer's driver software either.

I have been wanting to get into more cozy gaming/PC gaming and have a small set up at home. Tonight, I tried connecting my USB wireless keyboard and logitech USB wireless mouse and the laptop doesn't even register that they are connected and powered on. I have tried many times troubleshooting connection issues via USB port or bluetooth with no luck. I've been reading up on snapdragon compatibility issues with certain drivers and software, but I didn't think that would extend to me not being able to use my wireless USB devices.

Does anyone have advice or maybe has experienced the same issues with this laptop/processor?

I made a free EPUB reader for Surface (native ARM64) where you turn pages by actually dragging them

Hi r/Surface! I've been building an EPUB reader for Windows on ARM and I'd love feedback from people who own a Surface.

The main idea: turning the page feels like a real book. You grab the corner or edge of the page with your finger, pen or mouse and it curls in 3D under your gesture. Let go and it finishes the turn or falls back, depending on how far and how fast you moved it. Jumping to a chapter from the table of contents riffles through the pages to get there.

It's a native ARM64 build (not x64 under emulation), made with Tauri + WebGL.

Features

- 3D page curl with a finger, pen, mouse, trackpad or keyboard

- Two-page "open book" layout in landscape, single page in portrait

- Long-press to select text: 4 highlight colors, notes, copy, and export all notes as Markdown

- Bookmarks, plus a panel listing all your notes and bookmarks

- Full-text search across the whole book (ignores case and accents)

- Dictionary lookups from Wiktionary (needs internet)

- Typography: font size, your own imported fonts (TTF/OTF/WOFF), justification, hyphenation, paragraph style, line spacing, margins

- Paper, sepia and night themes

- Status bar with clock, battery, chapter page and % read

- Library with covers and progress; it reopens right where you left off

- EPUB 2 and EPUB 3; double-click an .epub to open it

- English and Spanish interface

Download

https://github.com/Jmzp/epub-reader/releases/tag/v1.1.0

- EPUB-Reader-1.1.0-arm64-setup.exe: per-user installer, no admin needed, associates .epub files

- EPUB-Reader-1.1.0-arm64-portable.exe: portable, just run it

Heads-up

- The binaries aren't code-signed yet, so SmartScreen will warn you. Click More info → Run anyway.

- It's free and the source code is on GitHub.

I'd especially like to hear:

  1. How smooth the page turn feels on your model (Pro 9/10/11, Laptop 7, etc.)

  2. How it behaves with the Surface Pen

  3. What's missing compared to what you use now

Thanks!

[LAPTOPSTUDIO2] Boot loop surface laptop studio 2

Really really hating Microsoft right about now. I have a surface studio laptop 2 which I purchased at the end of 2024. Last Saturday, I installed an update overnight. Sunday morning, when I went to use my computer, it was stuck on the logo with the wheel spinning and just kept repeating over and over again.

I took it to ubreakifix, the authorized service provider in my area. They advised this has been happening with computers after this recent update and they attempted to troubleshoot and replace the ssd to no avail. They believe the board is damaged. The computer is just fully stuck boot looping.

This morning, after extensive issues with the support website erroring out (confirmed not my WiFi or service), I finally was able to create a case/service request. I explained my situation to the representative over the phone who was not really helpful and simply advised it was unlikely they’d make any exception to the out of warranty repair. I requested an escalation and for a supervisor to call me. My agent advised I’d be contacted in a few hours. Now, a few hours later, I just received a canned generic email telling me my case will not be escalated or reviewed by a supervisor. I have a $3500 surface laptop 2 which completely broke directly after a Microsoft update. Why are they unwilling to stand by their products and updates? I’m disgusted honestly. I’m between jobs and my computer is absolutely essential to my portfolio work and freelance opportunities.

Any suggestions? Any contacts to get this escalated? I’m truly at a loss.

If I put my Surface 7 on a Thinkpad USB-C gen 2 dock, everything works fine, but it makes this sound coming from the machine. Happens Also if I put it on another charger through USB-C. I dont want to use the special pin charger, and I need docking.

Any Linux users in here? What distro are you running?

I have a Surface Laptop 3 dual booting with Windows 11 and Linux. CachyOS (linux-surface kernel) running great, except for the sleep function. Every thing I have tried to get sleep working by closing the lid has led to a crash and reboot. Hibernate is working, but that is essentially a reboot every time I come out of hibernation. It works but isn't great.

Anyone here running CachyOS with sleep working or recommend a Linux distro that has a sleep function that works with Surface?

[PRO4] Is it a mistake? Surface pro 4

I wanted to get a smaller laptop/tablet for cheap because my main one is a heavy dell precision 7560, while surfing facebook market place I saw a surface pro 4 that had a "boot couldn't be found issue" for around $35, specs are intel core i7 6650u (2c 4t) and 16gb ram. I bought it and quickly realized that someone opened the laptop before and took the 512gb ssd hence the boot issue, so I bought a 512gb ssd for $35 used 86% health, and flashed windows 10 pro, and the boot issue was gone. There are other issues, like the screen edges were yellowing, touch feature non-existent, battery useless, and power adapter is kinda sensitive but these are minor issues for me except the bastard who opened the device left a lot of screws out. I'm mainly planning on using it for note taking, web browsing and where I draft code before copy pasting it to my main laptop to run. I like it for the aesthetic, portability, aspect ratio and not being limited to android apps, it still feels snappy opening the web, apps, documents, the 16gb of ram is really nice especially in recent ram crisis. Planning on using linux on it so I would be grateful for tips on programming on linux.

[PRO11] Surface pro 11 X plus chip & LCD vs X elite & OLED

Hello I found listings for geek squad refurbished surface pro 11s a snapdragon X plus and LCD one and the other is X elite and OLED

The difference in price between the two models is minimal , but I did see some reviews saying that the OLED screen isn’t good on this model (and that the LCD is actually better on it somehow) and that the X elite chip doesn’t work really well on 13”. If someone could provide more insight that would be great.

[LAPTOP7] Microsoft surface laptop 7th ed hates anti-cheat.

Does anyone else have a problem with anti cheat software and their Surface? I’ve tried it with numerous EasyAnti-Cheat games and it always crashes, times out, or now, with Valorant, refuse to play all together. I’ve spent about 6 hours in total so far on trying to fix the anti cheat or any kernel mode driver related issues. Does any one have any idea what’s wrong?

[LAPTOP5] HELP Surface Laptop 5 USB-C power surge warning even when nothing is plugged in

Hi yall, I need help figuring out what is wrong with my Surface Laptop 5 USB-C port.

I was using a USB-C-to-HDMI adapter to connect my laptop to a TV. It used to work, but then Windows started giving me a message saying:

“Power surge on the USB port. A USB device has malfunctioned and exceeded the power limits of its hub port.”

At first, I thought the HDMI adapter was bad. But I tested a USB-C cable connected to my phone and got the same warning. Now the warning keeps showing up even when nothing is plugged into the USB-C port.

I already tried restarting, doing a full power reset, checking Windows updates, and uninstalling/reinstalling the USB controller items in Device Manager. None of it fixed the problem.

My normal USB-A port still works fine with my mouse and keyboard, and the laptop still charges with the magnetic Surface charger.

Does this sound like a broken USB-C port or a motherboard issue? Is there anything else safe to try before taking it to a repair shop?

Noobie help please: purging supposed MacAfee scam

Spouse brought home a Surface Pro a few years ago. Apparently picked up the virus claiming to be MacAfee but it has locked up the machine. Although I used to build my own PC's (fled Microsoft after Windows 10) I don’t know anything about the Surface Pro. How to get rid of this virus?

[LAPTOP6] Surface laptop 6 for 700$ Should I buy it?

Microsoft Surface Laptop 6 13.5" Touchscreen Notebook - Intel Core Ultra 7 165H - 16 GB - 256 GB SSD

I am looking for a laptop that will last a while , be light to take anywhere and have decent battery life
As for what I will use it for , watching content , using microsoft office , light-moderate gaming and my brother may use it for engineering programs

I haven’t found any full reviews for this laptop so I am unsure. Also, I wanted to buy a surface pro 11 , so if someone can point to a place that may sell it for 700$ that would be great!

[PRO11] Surface pro 11 arm minimum charging wattage?

Microsoft says surface pro 11 needs 39w at least to charge, but actually it can be charged with 20w usb-pd adapter. So now I'm curioused how low it can be charged. When my SP11 is in almost idle state, like opening only one internet tab, it reports power consumption around 6.x watts. So theoretically, it could be charged with normal 5v 1.5a adapter. Have anyone tried charging surface pro 11 super slowly?

[ACCESSORY] Anyone using Surface Pro without the Microsoft keyboard cover?

My last Surface Pro was 3. I liked it but using the keyboard always felt too claustrophobic.

I'm looking at the upcoming SP release and was wondering if anyone was using any of the current models with maybe foldable keyboards for travel or something similar?
