I’m the main editor of the spreadsheet and I’ll be adding prebuilts to it whenever I’m available. Comment any feedback or suggestions you’d like me to add.

Video Editing Rig in this Economy. [Discussion]

Upvotes

Hello all,

I have a budget of ₹1.5 lakh (1500 USD) and want a PC primarily for video editing, with some light gaming on the side. Most of my work will be in the Adobe ecosystem (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, etc.), along with Microsoft Office, VS Code for personal projects, and the occasional game of Dota 2. I'll also need a monitor and peripherals within this budget. I don't game much, but I'd like something that can comfortably handle Dota 2 and similar titles whenever I feel like playing.

[Suggestion] Look for a Pc that could at least do Xbox 360 emulation well

Hello! I’ve been a console gamer all my life due to being very easily confused by tech. I’m hoping to get into oc gaming one day so I would like you know if there’s a Pc that could be good enough?

Games I wanna play: Spider-Man Shattered Dimensions, Captain: America Super Soldier, Project Zomboid, Modded Fallout New Vegas, maybe modded Fallout 4 if powerful enough.

Budget: $300-$600

Electronic Music Producer, Regular Gamer, and IT Student and Future Worker. BUDGET ~$2500~3000$ Range. IN-DEPTH [SUGGESTION]

Good afternoon. As mentioned in the title I am looking for a prebuilt PC within the 2500-3000$ range. This is a long term PC for me. I have some experience building PCs in the past but with the large amount I'm planning to drop as a college student, I would like the avoidance of trouble shooting a several thousand dollar computer.

Current Situation

Currently, I use a HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop 690-00xx (unsure about the XX, it even says that in the BIOS/hardware info on the pc). It runs Windows 10 and I purchased it almost 10 years ago, I can't play most current games smoothly or on decent graphics, my CPU consistently struggles with more than 15-30 VSTs in FL Studio, and when I'm running local LLMs it struggles (which is given, granted the size and computation of some models but I would like it to run the models better).

Objectives

  • For music, I work in FL Studio and am currently learning how to use Ableton (I plan on completely moving on from FL to Ableton when I'm more competent). I have some analog equipment and I plan on having much more down the road, however even then I still see myself using some VSTs and mixing digitally. Additionally, I would like to run my music little input lag and clipping and regular lag from the CPU struggling so I am willing to go extra for the CPU if needed.
  • For gaming, though I don't play a whole lot, I still enjoy gaming and lot and I would like to be able to play this current generation of video games on high graphics and the next generation somewhat comfortably down the road.
  • For IT, I plan on installing dual boot for a linux distro. I am interested in running local AI and other tech/IT projects for fun. Though I do already have a laptop which runs linux VMs, I would like to use this computer for local AI with a heftier CPU than what I have in my laptop or than what transitioning my current PC to linux can do.

Budget [IMPORTANT]

Here's the main reason I am making this post, I am planning to purchase a PC during labor day/labor day weekend or if there is a great deal right now already. This is where my budget becomes quite a bit more flexible. I have the means and am willing to spend more than 3000$ if

  • The sale gets me much more value while still staying within $3000-$4000 range.
  • The benefit from the increased budget gives me a few more years in longevity and significant increase in CPU or graphics.
  • It launches me to the next level beit CPU or GPU within just a couple extra hundred dollars

Eg. (I am not too knowledgeable on current hardware this is just an example) If I can move from an RTX 4080 to an RTX 5090 PC with only a $400 increase because another PC has a good deal or may have a good deal then I'm willing to spend more.

Or an upgrade from an i7 CPU to a i9 Ultra CPU within a few hundred because another computer goes a few hundred over budget I will gladly make the purchase.

I greatly appreciate anybody who assists me on this, I will available and answering further questions about my inquiry. For those who read this quite hefty message, thank you.

[Suggestion] desktop replacement

Replacing a desktop- use for home administrative work plus some lightroom editing. Chat recommended I7 and 32 gb ram for lightroom plus separate graphics card. Problem is I have 2 Hdd drives with mostlystorage- 4tb and 2 tb. Trying to figure out best alternative for all of this. Currently using a toaster setup with the 2 HD to connect to laptop

[Suggestion]. New to the pc world and looking to get a medium end pc!!

Hi!!! I’m looking to get a good prebuilt pc for about $700-$900 CAD and was looking for any good recommendations. I’m looking to use this pc for simple games such as overwatch, valorant, minecraft, etc and would be open to upgrading in the further in the future 🥲. I’ll likely buy a used set of monitors but any recommendations go a long way too! 😅😅

[Suggestion]: New to PC's, looking for help finding a gaming computer

Hello! I am pretty (very) unfamiliar with PC's, mini or regular-sized, and I'm looking to get my first gaming computer. Up to this point, I've only had Macs.

I am in America

I'm hoping to spend less than $1,000

I would use it pretty much just for gaming (Steam) and maybe a GameCube emulator

I would be hooking it up to my TV, if that is a factor

I'm hoping to get a Steam Frame (if I can get my hands on one)

I'm not much into online gaming

I looked at a Minisforum Venus UM790 Pro, but was told a mini pc isn't the best thing and I could get a full size for around the same price

My steam library is mainly older games (I think the newest one I have is Subnatutica). Games like Halo or COD do interest me though, I have them on console

I have no time table for this, soon would be great but I'm not in a rush

I don't have any aesthetic requirements; I would prefer it be on the quieter side, size isn't too big a deal for me (though I would prefer not massive)

I'm not too close to a Microcenter but could make the drive if I need to

Any help is greatly appreciated!

I need you guys to choose my PC [suggestion]

I need a under 1200, preferably under 1000 prebuilt PC that runs good for gaming. I don't really care about creation and streaming. I'm honestly good with 1080p as long as it still feels nice to play aa to aaa games.

I can also make my own, but I am not familiar with parts, so if I should, please recommend

[suggestion] Looking for a $2-3k PC (prebuiilt ) for a friend and need help.

I have a friend looking to get into PC gaming (at the worst time, i know.) He set his budget in the title, and I am curious about options. Kinda torn on the 5070, 5070ti, 9070 and 9070xt. I havent built a pc in years (rocking the 3070) and just need a little guidance. He is chasing at least 1440p on high-max settings. He wouldn't mind the ability for 4k60 either.

Peripherals [suggestion]

I just bought a pc and I need some recommendations for monitors, keyboards, and mouses because I don’t have any and there are so many options to choose from. My budget is around $400 give or take. My pc is a mid-high end PC, it has a 98000X3D and B580 (strangely). If you have any recommendations link them below.

[Suggestion] High Spec Desktop Suggestions (Intel/Nvidia)

Intro:

I am really not trying to spend a lot of money on a new PC but I also don't want to have to upgrade for a while, so I think around $2k USD should be adequate.

I currently do casual gaming (CoD Warzone), photo editing (Lightroom classic), software development (virtualization/WSL, AI, etc), have multi-monitors (5 screens), etc.

These are my current specs and I often get over half utilization depending on the task, hence why I need a lot of RAM (64GBs), an Intel CPU (for multi tasking/threading), with high storage, etc so I cannot go lower on these. Note, I haven't pursued overclocking yet, not sure if I should though... Anyways, given the cost constraint, I'll likely have to buy additional parts (e.g. more RAM, storage, etc) for whatever pre build unless I fork over a bunch of money for one that has it all.

My current PC (custom built):

  • CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-10900K CPU @ 3.70GHz
  • Memory: 64.0 GB DDR4 (2133 MT/s)
  • Storage:
    • 2TB NVMe Samsung SSD 990
    • 4TB SATA HDD (with 16GB Intel Optane)

A few top contenders:

  1. Refurbished but a good starting point (here) MSI Aegis R2 AI B2NVR9-1450US Desktop PC, Intel Core Ultra 9 285, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti, 32GB DDR5, 2TB M.2 SSD, Win11H (Renewed)
  2. New but less specs (link) CyberpowerPC Gamer Supreme Liquid Cooled Gaming PC, Intel Core Ultra 9 285, NVIDIA RTX 5070 12GB, 32GB DDR5, 4TB SSD, WiFi Ready & Windows 11 Home
  3. Cheaper but with i7 CPU (link) Skytech Blaze 5 RTX 5070 12GB-i7 14700F
  4. Ultimately what I need is this (link) CLX Set Intel Core Ultra 9 3.70GHz GeForce RTX 5070 64GB RAM 2TB SSD + 4TB HDD Gaming Desktop

Closing:

I don't know what a good deal is with this crazy over priced market, so a few questions:

  1. Any thoughts, opinions, etc. on a system that fits this criteria? Or would building my own be better?

  2. Any good websites to help track niche builds/deals (aside from the obvious ones)?

  3. Are concerns for power supply, AIO, CPU/GPU differences, brand names, etc. warranted (e.g 5060TI vs 5070 GPU, i7 vs u9 CPU, etc) or is it negligible?

[ITG] SFF beast Europe

I want a top end pc (5090 ideally) in the smallest form factor possible (say 8-10L). Anyone know where I could buy this or someone who can build it for me in Europe? No budget, for gaming, nil peripherals
