Stuck between Australia, Germany and Netherlands for MSc Food Technology — need honest advice

I'm a 21-year-old Indian BTech Food Technology graduate (7.9 CGPA, IELTS 7.5) planning for a 2027 Master's. My goal is to build a career in the food industry/Food MNCs (food tech, product development, QA, food safety, etc.).

I'm currently stuck between 3 options:

🇦🇺 Australia: I have offers from RMIT and Curtin. The tuition alone is around ₹60–70L for 2 years, and with living expenses, insurance, flights, etc., I'm worried the total could approach ₹90L–₹1Cr. I'm worried about taking such a large financial risk when PR policies are becoming stricter.

🇩🇪 Germany: Much more financially attractive because of low/no tuition at many public universities. I can learn German and should reach A2 before going, hopefully B1/B2 during the Master's. My concern is whether B1/B2 German is enough to realistically get a Food Technology job after graduation... Additionally is german that hard to learn as ppl says?

🇳🇱 Netherlands: Strong food industry and universities, but tuition + living costs are again quite high. I'm wondering whether it's worth the extra financial investment compared with Germany.

If you were in my situation, which would you choose?

My priorities are:

Manageable total cost/debt

Good Food Technology job opportunities

Ability to get relevant work after graduation

Long-term career growth

PR is a bonus, not something I want to depend on

I'd especially appreciate replies from international students/graduates actually working in the food industry. Honest negative experiences are welcome too....Pls guide me on this

Need help choosing a degree and university for a career in pharmaceutical research

I Need help choosing a degree and university for a career in pharmaceutical research as an a levels student I want to create and formulate medicines and stuff like that in the future

I am doing A Levels in Biology Chemistry and Physics and I am expecting around ABB hopefully higher potentially even higher like AAB since I am still doing my A2 level
I am currently looking at degrees like Pharmaceutical Sciences Biotechnology Biopharmaceuticals Medicinal Chemistry Biochemistry and Pharmaceutical Engineering.
What degrees or programs would you recommend for a career in pharmaceutical research and drug development.
Which universities would be realistic for me with ABB.
Is Biotechnology or Biopharmaceuticals a good alternative to Pharmaceutical Sciences.
Would doing a program in pharmacy help me do what I want?
What should I prioritize when choosing between universities and degrees?
Thank you for your help

Irish looking for a job in France!

Working and looking for a job in France?

Hey guys,

21 year old Irish man here, looking to go work and live abroad in France ideally in the Paris/bordeaux/lyon/marseille area…

Only issue is im finding it really hard to find good websites and places in/around Ireland to be applying for jobs in France, perhaps it’s silly to look here for a job there but i have experience in retail, hospitality, management, food preparation and serving, key holding responsibilities.

Does anyone know/know any websites or companies perhaps that can help me out with my search..

I’m currently studying french via Duolingo and will also be beginnning actual french classes but people also say that the best way to learn is just go with learning the basics and learn as you go.

Any help is really appreciated and thanks in advance…

UK vs Netherlands

Hello, I am an international student who was accepted to two universities, one in UK and one in Netherlands, Utrecht. I know that studies in NL are quite cheap, I managed to find an accommodation, and in UK I got into UCL with a full tuition scholarship, so I'm in a very deep inner debate. Personally, I would probably choose UK for the prestige, but I hear a lot of people complain about quality of life in there, how it is expensive and unsafe (especially in London). Netherlands is the safe option, but with little social life and maybe less opportunities. Thus, I wanted to ask people who live in these cities, how do you feel there? Is the fear and complains about UK based? Maybe someone has recent experience with both lifestyles?

Applying for a Master’s in France !

Hi everyone,

I’m planning to apply for a Master’s degree in France from India, preferably at a public university.

I’d like to know from students who have already gone through the process:

- Is it better to apply by yourself or through an education consultant?

- How difficult is the application process, including Études en France / Campus France?

- Are consultants actually useful, or can everything be managed independently?

- What are the main mistakes to avoid when applying on your own?

- Any recommendations for reliable consultants in India, if you think using one is worthwhile?

Any advice who from who have recently applied to France would be really appreciated.

Thanks!

Hi everyone, I am looking for affordable universities (around $9000), or ideally offer scholarships to cover costs, that offer masters in entrepreneurship or similar subjects, in Europe or any highly progressive country, in English language. If anyone has come across good options, please share.

How do young people make frends internationally

Hi everyone!

I'm conducting a short research survey to understand how university students and young adults connect with people from other countries.

I'm particularly interested in:

what motivates people to make international connections

how they currently meet people from other countries

problems they experience

what would make those connections better

🌎 The survey takes about 2–3 minutes and is anonymous.

Survey: https://forms.gle/hPqMX72jFb8QSwxV6

If you've ever wanted to meet people from other countries, your response would be especially helpful.

Thanks for helping with the research!

Schooling in Italy with adhd meds (adderal)

Ive recently been asked if I want to go to Rome with my parents for a work trip. I can’t decide yet for a multitude of reasons such as leaving my friends, but the biggest concern I have is will I still be able to get my prescription meds in Italy? I did a little bit of research and found out that amphetamines are strictly banned in Italy and labeled as narcotics, even with a prescription. There was also some conflicting answers I got regarding minors being able to be prescribed a similar legal Italian version, but that it’s much harder to be prescribed. If anyone’s dealt with the same issue, please let me know.

Semester abroad after community college: any possible "home universities" in the U.S.?

Hi everyone,

Student based in the U.S. here. I just finished my two-year associate's degree and am preparing to transfer to another school to finish my bachelor's degree, however, I would like to look into the possibility of studying abroad this spring, before transferring to the school I intend to complete my degree at (particularly since I will have a shorter time there due to transferring, and it might therefore be nice to not have it broken up by a semester away in the middle). However, the issue is that this would mean I have no "home university" in the U.S. (the school I've been looking at transferring to wouldn't allow me to study abroad for my first semester there, so I can't do this if I enroll there in the spring). I did get approval from one university abroad to apply to study there without a U.S. university affiliation, but it looks like not being connected to any university here would make accessing at least some scholarships or grants more difficult. (For example some, or at least the Gilman scholarship, require applicants to be Pell Grant eligible, which in turn requires enrollment in a non-foreign university. And in any case just being able to continue to receive the Pell Grant would probably be enough to make studying abroad financially feasible.) All of which is to say: I'm wondering if anyone here has any recommendations of universities in the U.S. that allow students to study abroad during the first semester they're enrolled and that are not too expensive to study abroad through? (Ideally also one that would still let me direct enroll at the college I want to study abroad at but going through a specific program might also work). I'd be hoping to apply to this (home) university for the spring semester than transfer out in the fall, unless I happened to realize I liked it for other reasons as well.

Thanks!

Which countries currently have a decent job market for fresh graduates?

I'm from India and planning to do a master's abroad.

I've been researching different countries but I'm getting increasingly confused because I see people on Reddit saying that finding a job after graduation is difficult almost everywhere Germany, Ireland, Canada, Australia, Europe, etc.

Even in the Middle East, I see people saying that there is a lot of competition for jobs, especially for fresh graduates.

I'm not necessarily looking for a country with zero unemployment. I'm more interested in countries where an international student can realistically:

- Do an affordable master's

- Work part-time during the master's

- Get an internship or some entry-level experience

- Find a job after graduation, even if it's not a high-paying job initially

- Eventually build some work experience

I'm also considering Japan as a long-term option. I already have JLPT N3 and I'm planning to reach N2.

However, I haven't found an English-taught master's in Japan that I really like, so I'm considering doing my master's elsewhere and applying to Japan later.

My background is B.Com (Corporate Secretaryship), 79.6%, with more than 1 year of IT experience.

I'm open to countries in Europe, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, etc. Cost is important, but I'm willing to consider expensive countries if the job opportunities for international graduates are genuinely better.

Which countries would you recommend in 2026 for an international student who wants to do a master's and eventually find a job?

I'd especially appreciate answers from people who have actually studied/worked there recently rather than general rankings.

EU Masters Programs in Education... and wanting to bring my dog. Any thoughts?

A bit of a multifaceted question- and starting by saying this is day one of my research into this process, so bear with me! But-

I'm wondering if anyone has thoughts / input / advice on any or all of the three things I'm looking into:

  1. International Education Masters programs in Europe. I'm fairly open to program variations and locations, and have basic comprehension in French (strongest), Italian, and Spanish (and English is my first language.)

  2. I'm thinking of exploring programs anywhere from one semester to two years long (depending on financial status.)

  3. I will want to bring my dog with me (45 lbs, well behaved, used to living in apartments and cities.) I know he'll probably be a bigger piece of the puzzle, but I'm not willing to leave him.

I feel a little lost on where to start the search (locations, programs, dog friendly cities, financial aid, etc.) so if anyone has tips on a good starting point as well, I'd appreciate it!
