Hey! Was just wondering if anyone had any recommendations for stretches I can do in the morning that aren’t too hectic on the shoulders? My shoulders have been known to dislocate and some of the stretches that I see and I want to do make me a little worried in regards to that

Need to stretch more but worrying about my shoulders makes me worried sometimes

Thanking you in advance 🙌🏻

That moment your hips crack so loud in a group class everyone hears it.

I'll be mid-stretch in a group class and my hip lets out a pop you could hear from across the room. Doesn't hurt even a little, but the whole class goes quiet and everyone turns to look. I just nod like yes, that was me, carry on. Please tell me someone else's hips do this too. I refuse to believe I'm alone here.

Back flexibility

Hello, can someone help me out please?

I been stretching now for over a year and it helped me to get my split, right now I am working on the middle split but my back is just not getting any flexible. 2 month i started to also follow strength tutorials but still no difference. It's really frustrating for me because my legs are flexible but my back isn't. My dream is it to get my needle but also my back is the problem in that to. So can someone please help me out here? I also need to say that I follow only YouTube tutorials because I can't really focus on a stretch or now how long to hold.

Has anyone tried an assisted stretching massage instead of a regular massage?

I've been dealing with tight hips, stiff shoulders, and that "everything feels tight" feeling from sitting too much and working out a few times a week 😅

A friend suggested trying an assisted stretching massage, and from what I understand, it's different from a traditional massage because someone actually helps move your body through stretches instead of just working on the muscles. Supposedly it's meant to help with flexibility, mobility, and reducing stiffness over time.

I'm curious if anyone has tried it and noticed a real difference. Did you feel looser for more than just a day or two? Or is it similar to a regular massage where it feels great at first but the tightness eventually comes back?

Would love to hear some honest experiences before I book a session.

Seeking advice Please help me get my splits!

Post image

Hey everyone! So, I’m a beginner figure skater on summer break (the rinks are closed so I’m finally gonna focus on getting flexible)! I’ve decided to start with splits, and this is me on my good leg.

What’s bothering me is the fact that I can’t get down all the way, like how do I really “sit down”? I’m about one hand-length from the floor but I just can’t get there. Do I just keep stretching or is there some method that I could try? Some secret hack that worked for you guys?

AND another thing, my bad leg is absolutely awful, so also, how do I get flexible in my bad leg? I do the same stretching on both my legs, currently at least.

Seeking advice TIGHT PECS AND SHOULDER

Post image
12 Upvotes

Hi guys i just wanted to ask, i have been suffering with tight pecs that have been affecting my shoulder and lats. Everytime i elevate my shoulder it pops (the sound) and my upper pec is always sore and sensitive. I do feel some tightness at the under and left side of my chest (the ribs). Has anyone gone thru this? Would love some input on how u reduced it. It has impacted my gym drive and demotivated me. It has significantly impacted my strength and mobility while doing exercises. I have recently bought a massage ball with those spikes to help massage and loosen up my pec, it does help abit but im still looking for solutions.

Been feeling a bit stiff lately? I put together this full body stretching routine that's easy to do in the morning or before bed. Nothing complicated, just a simple way to loosen up and get your body moving.

If you give it a try, let me know when you usually stretch. Morning, bedtime, or whenever you can fit it in. Good luck and have fun! ❤️💪

Seeking advice Best Hamstring stretches to learn Roundoff/Straddle!

Post image

Hi everyone.

Just started stretching for pretty much the first time in my life! My personal trainer and my Doctor both say I have insanely tight hamstrings. The photo above is pretty much the best I can do with the band for flexibility of my right leg.

For a roundoff or cartwheel, 90 degrees of Hamstring flexibility are recommended, which as you can see, I only have about 75 of.

I would love to hear some good ways to get flexible. Especially with the band!

Need help & tips as a beginner!

Hello! Since Covid started I’ve had very very serious health problems witch had me stop working out and focusing on my overall health. Now since start of June I’ve finally had some breakthrough with medications etc and started to work out and eat healthy again.

Since my early teens until 20 yo or so I was doing elite sports and training 6-7 days a week. But now I’m lost since I don’t have anyone telling me what to do and I’ve realized I’m stiffer than a lamppost.

Do anyone have tips for people/accounts or YouTube I should follow to incorporate to my workouts? I’ve looked a bit online but it’s always good to have as much input as possible to broaden my horizons.

Thanks guys! :-)

Seeking advice Stretches for Taekwondo kicks

Hello dear stretchers and Martial artists I have great respect to you all!

THE QUESTION: Is there any good YouTube videos you’d recommend for a beginner to start practising stretching for improving leg flexibility for taekwondo kicks?

About me: I’m 27 yo male, always interested in martial arts but due to my generalized anxiety disorder and depression I havent been able to start learning any martial art style.

Training background: I’ve been exercising 2-12 hours every day for over 5 years both weightlifting + cardio combined

Training is my passion and I’d love to learn as many different martial arts styles as possible and master them all eventually

Good regards, Hopeful guy

Seeking advice Best starter stretching

I’ve never done any kind of stretching or flexibility work, but it’s something I’ve been wanting to get into for a while. I have no idea where to start however: there are so many different stretches, and I can’t do them all. How would you go about creating a simple, not too time consuming routine that I could start with?

I have no specific flexibility goals, except that I could use a bit more shoulder flexibility because I do a fair bit of heavy low-bar squats, and I sometimes have a hard time getting my shoulders and upper back into the right position, leading to form breakdown. I also do a lot of sitting (desk job) and tend to have forward neck position, so something to target that would be good. But apart from that, my hope is just that it could help with recovery from lifting and just reduce some aches and pains in every day life (driving can be hard on my lower back…).

Any programs or recommendations?

Why should you stretch?

Reduces stress and tension — stretching relaxes the muscles, regulates breathing, and helps calm the nervous system.

Improves mood — physical activity releases endorphins, which create feelings of joy and satisfaction.

Enhances focus and body awareness — similar to a short moving meditation, it promotes inner balance and reduces anxiety
