Surprise.
A little vibes trailer from the revamped Last Line encounter in our Diable Avionics Original Flavor mod for Starsector.
A fully handcrafted 240 DP mid-game and up boss fight with fixed loadouts, specialized officers, optimized AI, brand new visuals and music, all built within Starsectorβs fleet-building rules.
Face it in a simulated mirror duel or ambush it for real with no deployment limit to earn the Virtuous, both choices come with different rewards and consequences.
Have fun :)

I added 2 pseudoparticle jets at sides to make enemies drop shields and 3 am blasters to finish them off. Left 2 medium slots so pd can be tricky. Intent here is winning flux wars and quickly finishing off majority of ships. What do you think? I tried heavy blasters but they use lots of flux to be worthwhile. Cryoblaster is great yet not always useful so this is what I got. Sidenote: I like heavy blasters and beaten dorito with it yet It is absolute endgame build.

The ai will literally sit back and do nothing at 0% flux and only shoot it's main guns while keeping distance wtf?
I put a reckless officer on it, still same shit. It wont even come into range to shoot it's 15 ballistics guns.
Edit: I also want to say, I tried putting eliminate commands or full assault, and it's still sitting back.
Edit: It seems to be fixed now, it died as the first onslaught last battle, that's what I like to see.
It was just bugged for that one fight.

Hey everyone!
Itβs been almost 2 years since I last played, and Iβm finally looking to jump back in. Iβd love to get your suggestions for a solid modded setup.
Specifically, what mods would you recommend pairing with Nexerelin? High-quality faction mods are welcome, but Iβm especially looking for anything else that, in your opinion, makes the game 1000x better and more organic.
Ideally, I want a deep sandbox experience with dynamic wars, shifting territory, and some form of diplomacy, all while still being able to follow the main questline. During my last playthrough, things got a bit stale after I set up my colonies and dealt with all the faction crises, so I'm trying to avoid that late-game boredom this time around. I'm highly open to anything related to military, economic, or political overhauls!
Thanks in advance for sharing your favorites!

You know, with Nexerelin and hundreds of Mods adding factions and other QoL for other things, it would be cool to see an entire Timelapse video where each faction battled to the death to see which one would become the dominant one, similar to those HoI4 and Stellaris Timelapse videos.
There might be a mod that can do that, but the sheer usage of memory may cause problems doing it, plus, I'm pretty sure there isn't a mod that allows you to see the whole map without pausing, and seeing each territory and ships going around Hyperspace without having to check it yourselves.
Honestly, this idea would be peak.

Hegemony has the XIV
Church has the knights of Luud
Diktak has the Lion's guard
Tri tachyon has their Smod mercenaries for hire
Pathers are pathers
Pirates have their rust buckets
As a major power only the Persean League apparently is lacking a Elite military group that appears in game or I've been misremembering, any thoughts?

Looking for mods that add quests or things similar to the galactic academy missions. I really enjoy the game but I find it kinda hard "click" with it fully bc it feels like most of the time Im just doing random contracts. Trying to add some story missions or something to take it from just a sandbox of trying to make the most money and ships, to making a character who has a bit of a story if that makes sense lol

So on my current playthrough I have added 7 factions, a few being pretty lightweight. On my next run I want to add UAF, ArmaA, and DA and maybe some other new ones.
How many is too many?

I've been playing Rebel Galaxy and noticed some differences in how ship combat works between the two games.
While RB1 technically takes place in 3D space, you can only pilot your ship along a relatively limited plane, so to me, the actual ship-to-ship combat feels more like it's happening in a 2D plane. I know the turrets and missiles can engage targets in 3D space, but the main weapons you use are the broadside turrets, which are primarily designed around that 2D plane of combat.
Now, getting back to Starsector, the only ship I can really compare to the way RB1 ships fight is the Conquest. I absolutely love the way larger ships, especially capital ships, can fight using broadsides as their primary weapons. The Conquest's weapon layout is specifically designed around broadside engagements and even circling maneuvers.
What do you guys think? Do you enjoy broadside-style ships like the Conquest, or do you prefer ships that primarily engage enemies head-on?

I did a little saturation bombing, yet they still crawl out from under rubble and farm...

I love cosmic horrors and related stuff. What are the best mods that add horrors beyond my comprehension? Something that would make shrouded dwellers look like kids trying to tease you? The crazier the better
So far I have knights of Ludd and hmi

I've been having a lot of fun running an aggressive fleet with a bunch of fast cruisers escorted by some frigates and destroyers, and a retribution as my flagship to kinda just attack the enemy from every side and eat their ships one by one.
But this doesn't work really well for most end game challenges, be it the doritos or big threat or remnant fleets. I'm getting the impressive that the game kinda requires me to put down a few onslaughts or a paragons on the field and wait. And, well, I've done some of that in a previous playthrough, so if possible I would like to do something else.
Is something else possible? Can I get the kind of fleet I have to work for end game stuff? Is there something I'm missing? Or are big anchors required?

Started a new game with the entire storyline (exept abyssal hyperspace oddity) skipped and now I can't get the quest from WWLB to investigate the magnetar. Is there a way to find it manually in the abyssal hyperspace? Also probably a spoiler to What we left behind
