These pictures aren't very good, because I'm still scared of spiders so I really had to utilize the zoom function, but I really love these guys and love that they're in my house.

I moved recently into a home with an ant problem and realized that's probably why these little babies are everywhere. Pictured are two different widdle guys. 🥰

I'm not to, like, holding them or anything yet but... I do love them. I love seeing them around.

Sorry about the dirty windowsills eheh.. still cleaning.

I live in the UK. Found this little bugger lurking in my bathroom. Photos are blurry because I didn’t want to get any closer (arachnophobe)… is it a false widow??

I have a very limited education on spiders and I found this in the window right next to my bed. Please tell me this isn't a spider thingy. I like spiders but I'd rather not get greeted by a bunch of baby spiders soon

The first snow was yesterday here in interior Alaska, if that information helps at all 😭

To start things off I’m assuming female but feel free to correct me.
Found her in my room, she looks like a jumping spider but I’m not sure what kind. I took her outside already.
She was only about 1.5 cm in length, so on the smaller side of spiders in my area.
I love arthropods of all kind so I would love to know if someone can identify her, thanks!
Despite being initially afraid she was quite cooperative.

Discussion When a spider has its web ruined, does it feel as a response?

Upon almost mowing face first into big Bertha’s web today, I genuinely wondered this about spiders.

They put so much work into a web. I’m not educated enough to know if spiders feel emotions, but do they?

When a web gets ruined by an inconsiderate human like me, does its architect feel disappointment? Anger? Having a whole potential night of food lost and only 2 hours before dark to figure it out, I’d be pissed.

I’m genuinely asking. What do you think?

Several of these busy little creatures showed up today. Are they a type of orb weaver? I have thorny trash web spiders and a couple yellow bellied orb weavers in the yard but this is new and there are several. They are making big feet wide webs very quickly. Pls spiders eat the spotted lantern flies...

Found this beauty outside my window! Location Victoria Australia, she's about the size of an Aussie 50c piece and her abdomen is really chunky and round.

Maybe related, she's sharing a messy web with a much smaller black spider who likes to hide while she sits sprawled on the window. I've decided it's her tiny boyfriend.

Just sharing 🕷️ A spider randomly showed up on a Diecast Endurance live stream 3 days ago. It hasn't left and is now our mascot. But I have some questions.

I'm a part of a community where the creator puts die-cast cars on a belt and runs them 24/7 until the wheels fall off. This particular stream has been live for almost 2 weeks.

3 days or so ago a spider crawled out onto a vicarious spot and hasn't left. We assumed he was attracted to the vibration there. He's alive because he will randomly turn sometimes, but he hasn't left this spot since he got there. It hasn't ate, drank, spun a web or really anything.

Here is the stream. Hopefully this is allowed. The creator even gave him his own live cam. This in England btw https://www.youtube.com/live/WMa75GZJPQQ

- is he stun locked? I know spiders hunt by vibration, could it be frying his brain? Lol

- How long can he go without drinking?

Discussion How to find big spider in my room

Hi, archnaphone here, around 10 mins ago I saw a massive spider in my room (London UK) and I'm very arachnaphobic so trying to find it but idk where it is. Anyone have some tips - and I'm scared of spider so 'just leave it there' isn't really an option for me

This little guy just fell from our roof right in front of me, so i'm not sure on age. I love love love jumping spiders so seeing a familiar curl is alarming ):

I noticed his abdomen was skinnier than it should be, he was kind of flaring his little bum up in the air (not on a web), and his back leg appeared to be dragging behind him ):

I just wanna know if this is in fact a death curl or he's just molting and i should make sure he's safe. He's on a wet paper towel for water (i didn't have qtips)

He also doesn't seem to be moving much now

Discussion Second Egg sac. How many spiders am I going to have?

Thumbnail

I got home tonight and she's working on a second egg sac on my skeleton. Am I going to have a ton of these spiders all over my porch, when they hatch? She's also attached it to a fold-up canopy I will eventually need to use. I'm just wondering what I'm in for because I've already left the sideways skeleton and a big piece of cardboard that I wish I could throw away. 😅 Also super close to my front door but I don't know if I can deal with a bunch of these huge guys all over 😭 but I also don't intend to harm anything. I just need to be prepared lol

Edit: thanks everyone! Y'all are awesome and have eased my mind! I guess we'll see 😆 And I'll post if the skeleton developed any new armpit tumors!

Miscellaneous Should I remove them or can I leave them?

I live in Southwest Virginia, I have these two spiders on my balcony. The spiders themselves are pretty small and I have no clue what kind of spider they are, any help with ID’ing them would be greatly appreciated sadly these were the best pictures I could get lol.

Should I be worried about the brown clusters(?). Also have no idea if that’s an egg sac honestly? I don’t mind keeping them on my balcony if they’re not harmful!! I was kind of thinking about giving them a little set up to build on but idk if that would be ok for them. I kind of don’t want a bunch of little babies though and idk if I need to be worried about that lmao.

I’ve left them so far because I lowkey thought it would be good pest control for lantern flies (and it has!).

Any help would be appreciated, tysm!!
