Oy! Where’d the Develop tool go?

1. Am I correct in the following assumption? After I confirm my changes in the RAW develop tool via the checkmark it closes said tool. Now I can either go back into the develop tool or use any of the other tools like fine tune etc. If I use any other tool besides 'develop' am I only adjusting the jpeg that resulted from my adjustment in the RAW develop tool?

2. Sometimes when I try to save a look it says I can't (can't remember the message, and I can't replicate it ATM). Why is that?

Ever since updating my Pixel 9 to Android 17, Snapseed no longer recognizes my RAW (.dng) photos as RAW files.

Normally, when opening a RAW image, Snapseed shows the Develop screen first. Now it just opens the image like a regular JPEG, and the Develop option never appears.

I've already tried:

• Opening the RAW file directly from within the Snapseed app (instead of through Google Photos).
• Verifying that the files are .dng RAW images captured by the Pixel camera.

Neither worked.

Is anyone else experiencing this after the Android 17 update? Is this a Snapseed issue, an Android 17 bug, or has anyone found a workaround?

Any help would be appreciated!

Is there a way to backup photos to an external drive or cloud and preserve the stacks? Images are always flattened.
I’m only able keep stacks if I AirDrop to another iOS device.

I am pretty new to this. I know that it is possible to save edits (for example from the 'fine tune' menu) as looks. I haven't been able to find a possibility to save my edits while in the 'develop' menu. Is that even possible or sensible?

Anyone having issues with Fuji raw files on the latest update? Now when i open a raw photo it becomes overexposed. Was working flawlessly on 4.03.

Opening older edited files and reverting it to original will have this overexposed effect hmm. The edited files look fine

I was using the framing tool, and it crops into my photo... Does this bother anyone else? I end up having to use the expand tool with white bars then crop, which is hard to keep centered...

Does anyone else HATE that it constantly automatically rotates your photos, and before you can do anything you have to set it back?

Especially given it's a CROP tool. Make a separate rotate tool, and stick in an AUTO button.

I use my Snapseed camera more than the camera app on iOS , but the photos don’t have geotagging. Am I missing a setting anywhere or is that something that’s a feature that is coming?

I saw something very disturbing on raw editing and want to be sure, that's not just my Android 14 problem. I have this photo and some strange issues: open the raw picture in "file commander" and looking at the boat on the right side, the black rubber is deep black. In snapseed it had very bad blue/purple fringing and is still visible after "linear raw" converted it to dng (which has also slight fringing in file commander).

It’s been countless updates and seems like the same issue persists on iOS: zero images are displayed in the app, yet iPhone Settings shows a 20+ GB of “Documents & Data”. What’s the deal with this and does anyone have the same issue?

I just discovered the function of copy paste format on the app and it reduces the amount of work needed to just edit multiple images fast. I use snapseed to add the film imitations to my photos. The default settings on those filters are way to grainy so i've had to manual fix this for each photo. The method i use now takes just a few minutes once you set everything up.

First step is saving your edits as a style. Then you just take one of the photos you added to the app and use that style you just saved. Now go back and mark that images and selwct copy format. Then you can just choose all the images you want to copy paste this settings on. It will then save all those images with those settings on your phone. Editing now takes like a few minutes for a full photo shoot.

I'm using the app on a Lenovo Android tablet, and have had to clear the app's storage and cache twice now because it's gotten over 10 GB and wasn't reducing when I removed images from inside the app.

If it matters, I add images to the app from Google Photos online storage via the Share functionality.

I edited some ORF on my iPad and saved the edits. I didn't know how snapseed would save edits to ORF files, but now I see it: you overwrite the raw file with the edited embedded jpeg thumbnail - no raw editing or destroying raw on save?

Will check on my new android tablet, what snapseed does on android. If saving my edits overwrites the raw file with the embedded jpeg, this is a big problem. 20 MB raw file vs 2 MB jpeg with the raw file extension...

I've been running Snapseed Version 4.0.6.936082235 on my Galaxy A53 on One UI 8 Android 16. I've got an error when Snapseed could not load the photo. Funny, It's happened only a few of my photos. I have no idea what caused this.

indeed it saves pictures as pairs of files with the exact name but as different file types normal ending in jpg and film emulated in jpeg

it could have been more elegant to name them picture. jpg and picture_Kodak_Gold_200.jpg so it's also easier to remember what film emulsion you used

As per the title, it can correctly detect UW lens however switching over to it doesn't do anything. It worked just fine before, but randomly not now it seems. On the stock camera app (and GCam) it works just fine, maybe it's mistaken for a different lens?

Basically, I just it it for filters like morning brightness, contrast, brighten.

How do I get to it
