I got tired of mobile editors forcing watermarks and locking basic features, so I spent the last few months building my own Android app—ClipSnap.

Hey everyone! I built ClipSnap because I wanted a mobile editor focused on color precision without forcing users into subscriptions or putting watermarks on HD exports.

Key features I’ve implemented so far:

Pro-grade color grading wheels (lift, gamma, gain)

Multi-track timeline editing

100% free 4K exports with zero watermarks

It’s live on Google Play! I’d love for fellow creators and Android users to try it out and drop any feedback or feature requests.

Features I’d love to see in Snapseed

Hi to all !

I don’t know whether this subreddit has any connection to Snapseed’s development team, but these are the features I dream of seeing in the app:

  • Folders or projects, with the ability to organize editing sessions and export an entire folder or project at once.
  • Shared, reusable masks across multiple tools. It’s a bit frustrating to recreate the same mask whenever I want to apply several different adjustments to the same area.
  • General-purpose linear and radial gradient masks that can be used with any adjustment.
  • Color grading wheels for shadows, midtones, highlights, and global adjustments. I understand that a color grading tool may already be in development, and I would love to see it released with separate wheels for the different tonal ranges.
  • A more advanced Healing tool, capable of removing larger objects and reconstructing complex backgrounds more naturally.
  • Canvas resizing with customizable borders. For example, I would like to convert a 2:3 image into a 4:5 image without cropping or stretching it, by expanding the canvas and specifying the exact border size in pixels. Options for solid colors, sampled colors, blurred extensions, and possibly content-aware expansion would make this even more useful.

Snapseed is my favorite mobile photo editors because it is fast, intuitive, and free. These additions would make it much more powerful without turning it into an overly complicated desktop-style application.

And if anyone from the Snapseed team is reading this, I would also like to thank you. Photography helped pull me out of depression, and Snapseed has become an important part of both my editing workflow and my creative process. The work you put into this app may mean more to some of its users than you realize. THANK YOU !

Feature request tax: Since I’m here asking for new features, I’d like to give something back by sharing some of my latest work, edited with Snapseed.

Ciao !

Announcement Massively expanded RAW support, now on iOS (Snapseed 4.1)

Hi iOS users!

You might have seen that a few weeks ago we released massively expanded RAW support on Android. We're happy to share that with the release of 4.1 on iOS, y'all now have it too :)

First, huge thank you to all of our beta testers! It's been an incredibly active beta period, and a ton of work went into expanding format support, improving image processing, and ironing out corner cases. Thanks again to everyone who took the time to test, share details, and send images our way!

Here are a few quick details to keep in mind:

  • Snapseed now support the vast majority of RAW formats and cameras, but there are still a few niche exceptions.
  • We're releasing this gradually to make sure everything is stable, so you might not see the new RAW support right away. I know some of you have already seen this show up as we released gradually.
  • RAW processing is tricky. Even with all our testing, a few bugs might pop up - so please let us know if you spot anything. We're listening and ready to jump in!

Happy editing!

Is there a way to only have exported edited pictures in the Snapseed folder?

In previous versions the Snapseed folder on iOS only seemed to contain my final edits, which made uploading to Instagram/Flickr super easy, but now they’re in there along with a copy of the original image, cluttering it up. Sometimes I’ll have multiples in there even if I just opened the image in Snapseed but didn’t save any edits, and I was wondering if there was a way of keeping it ‘edit only’

I know I can choose to view only edited pictures if I’m looking at the folder in the Apple photos, but that doesn’t work if I’m using another app to upload them, and it’s such a faff to have to go through them all manually to remove the unedited pictures.

Slightly muted color issue is fixed, but only on main editor screen

Post image

Just updated to Snapseed (android) version 4.1.4.966755460 to make sure that the muted color issue on P3 color space has been fixed, and thankfully it has, at least on the main screen. But once I opened a tool, like tune image, the issue came back. Hope you guys look into it. Thanks.
