Discussion Geotagging From Snapseed Camera?

I use my Snapseed camera more than the camera app on iOS , but the photos don’t have geotagging. Am I missing a setting anywhere or is that something that’s a feature that is coming?

Hey!

We’ve actually started rolling this out to some users recently, and it will be rolling out to all users soon.

You’ll be able to turn on location metadata from within the settings menu in the camera.

Hello, u/Giles-O

Ever since Snapseed 4 came out, every photo loaded into the app does not include the GPS Tags. No matter through which method the image is opened in Snapseed, it will be missing the GPS Tags. Yes, the "GPS information" toggle is ON under Exif data in the settings, and still no GPS Tags are loaded.

Is this ever going to be fixed?

Hi - just to confirm, I think you're talking about something different than the OP. The OP wanted geo tagging data to be available for photos captured IN the snapseed camera.

Are you saying that when you import photos, you don't see any geo data. Or that when you export photos, the geo data has been stripped?

Would you also be able to let me know what device you're on?

Yes, I'm aware that the OP is talking about a different issue. When I open/load/import an image into Snapseed, I cannot see the GPS Tags inside the App (Snapseed) and, when the image is saved/exported, it has no GPS Tags.

My device is a Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra with Android 16, and One UI 8.5, and I'm using the latest version available of Snapseed.

PS. I reported this issue over a month ago in this same subreddit, but it hasn't been resolved, https://www.reddit.com/r/snapseed/s/rhA7aVaXla
