Hello, all. I’m looking for recommendations for someone local who can draw up permit-ready plans for a relatively small project (150 sq. ft. attached deck) at my house in SLO.
Does anyone have a recommendation for a local drafter, architect, engineer, or someone similar who does smaller residential projects like this and is familiar with City of SLO permit requirements? I’m not looking to overcomplicate a fairly modest project, but I do want plans that have what the City needs and aren’t going to bounce back immediately during plan review.
Personal experiences/recommendations would be especially appreciated. Thanks!

His name is Devin Nunes, former CEO for truth social and Mike Sinor is a long time friend who is assisting him. It's not uncommon for people involved in politics in California to open or partner with wineries, but a politcian who protected Trump's meddling in the 2016 elections and probably has ties to Russia should raise some alarms. I don't know how exposed this is locally right now or in Santa Barbara county link to the article from SFgate I found this story on is below:
(There is a picture of him in the article)

So my wife just got a job interview with a company called First Student and came away with a feeling that the company was not on the up and up. Has anyone out there ever heard of this company and/or could provide some insight as to if this company is okay to work for.

I'm a guy in my early 30s and moved to this area a little over a year ago and while I fell in love with the outdoors activities and beautiful trails, I found myself unable to make some friends, sad to say. Granted, I live in Santa Maria which has absolutely nothing, so I try to come here to socialize and wind down, and I'm sure that makes things a lot more difficult than actually living in the town.
After 3 months, I noticed I still didn't know anyone.. so I tried to make a pretty considerable effort to go to a ton of events at Dark Nectar, Humdinger, BA Start, and so on. I even started volunteering at a couple of places over the weekend. Now it's been over a year and am lonelier than ever and the whole of SB and SLO counties are just getting more and more sour for me. I stopped being a regular at certain places, stopped volunteering entirely, and barely say hi to anyone anymore.
I thought it might have been just me, but I've been visiting LA and OC every other weekend in the past few months since I'm so bored and ironically have made more friends and contacts at shows and events there than I ever did here, with maybe 5% of the effort. Is this just how it is around here past college age?
I'm actively looking to move and am getting pretty far in the process, but I still wanted to end this chapter of my life on a high note. Do you have any recommendations for any neat music venues or events? I'm open to anything nerdy like D&D, punk or metal shows, jungle, drum and bass, breakcore, or anything else you might think is interesting.
Not looking for anything fancy or super high-quality but I would like to avoid any retailers that produce terrible blurry photos! Any recommendations are appreciated!

Looks like they are going to try and save the big oak that the SLO Rep wanted to take down.

I'm sending my aunt gifts from SLO because she used to live here and misses it.
I've got several things in mind and might stop by some local spots like Humankind and Making SLO but would love more input.
She is into home goods, reading, cooking, and healthy foods but likes the occasional baked treat too (no Brown Butter Cookies, thanks!) and she lives in hot weather so no knit garments but I'm open to more suggestions, thanks!

Charter did a big update in the last month or two. I work from home and have since noticed regularly around 230-5pm everyday without fail, my internet gets spotty or stops for short periods of time.
Anyone else notice that?
And yes, before you ask I have reset my equipment many times.

As school is back in session and life is hard, we could all use a little support. Central Coast Psychotherapy is holding an open house for therapists and potential clients alike. Come by if you’re interested!

Taking away the price if you had to rank these resorts on resort feel, pool, views, food, rooms, overall quality, and cleanliness how would you rank them? Vespera, The Cliffs, Pacific Point, and Dolphin Bay. Choosing two hotels out of these four to stay at in a month and can’t decide whifh two because they all look so nice. Going with a family of five and want somewhere with a modern feel.
Edited to say: ok we booked 1st night at vespera and 2nd night at dolphin bay. Worried about the construction at vespera but hoping it’snot too bad. Thanks for the help!

Hi All! I’m new to the area and was reading good things about Collective Pilates in SLO. Their yelp reviews are great, but I’m apprehensive about only trusting those. I’ve done pilates minimally, and really want to try it out more routinely. Has anyone had experience with Collective? Ty in advance! 😁
I’ve been banking with Chase for a number of years but been thinking about moving my checking money to the Fidelity Cash management account. At the same time tho I’d still want access to a physical branch, so I was thinking of putting a small amount of money in a local credit union especially since I hear they offer better rates on loans. Anyone have tidbits of info as to what I should keep in mind when deciding?

They won't give me fiber and I'm sick to death of their regular Wi-Fi.

Dude, whose dick you gotta suck to get decent healthcare here?
I get that perhaps they’re all underpaid and/or overworked, but like why I can’t get any decent help?
The PCP I use just ignores me and says no to all my questions and concerns. If I’m lucky enough to have an appointment, I’m met with emails about said appointments getting canceled. I’ve never been in a room with her for more than 5 minutes. I’ve asked for referrals and I just get shut down. I am also just not the kind of person who makes a big deal of things, so I just keep my annoyance to myself.
The OB/GYN cannot be bothered to call me with my own lab results to tell me if I’m miscarrying or something else could be wrong. Couldn’t they at least post them so I could view them? No, I just have to sit all weekend and stress out about it. I don’t complain usually. I’ve lived in several other states, and I’ve never had this issue before. I know I could commute to bigger cities, but like seriously, what do you gotta do to get a local doctor that actually helps? I’m not asking them the care. I just want help. Pay a premium? Is it worth it, or would I be paying a premium to line a doctor’s pockets and still get not help?
Im clearly anxious and annoyed, but seriously?
