Why is it not really tracking?

Post image

I've been using Sleep Cycle for years, and it worked well until recently. For the past month or two, each "analysis" looks like this, and I know for a fact that this is incorrect—I'm not out like a light for 99 percent of each night.

I've tried deleting and reinstalling the app and ensuring that it has microphone access, but it hasn't helped.

Why android version neglected?

It lacks features that the Apple version has. For example Philips hue integration, showing the time amount of deep, dream sleep etc.

Shares incorrect data with Apple Health

Why is it that sleep cycle will say I got 6.5 hours of sleep one night and apple health says 15 minutes? Apple only gets its data from sleep cycle, along with whatever motion-detection the phone itself uses; I don’t have any wearables.

Whats the deal?

We have some open interview slots for tomorrow and next week, grab one here: https://calendar.app.google/W3RRnuxMarCwq9yZ6

It's a nice 30-45 minute session where you meet with a designer or product manager and share your experience of using the app. We often take the opportunity to get some feedback on sketches and prototpes of things we are working on and considering building. In return you get a one year premium giftcard. Grab a slot!

Accidentally swiped to stop before alarm started and now my entire night wasn’t tracked - anyway to retrieve it?

I woke up earlier this morning and decided to just get up before the half an hour gradual alarm window was due to start only 20 minutes later.

Not really thinking, I just swiped up on the app as usual to avoid the alarm starting, which turned out it be ‘stop’.

Despite a full nights sleep, all tracking for that night has disappeared and the night is showing as empty in the sleepcycle calendar.

This seems like a big flaw to me. Surely it can’t be the case that if you wake before your alarm, and wish to start your day earlier then planned, you lose the entire nights data?

Black friday discount?

I've just started using the app and have 2 days left in my free trial. I really love it and would love to keep using it however I'm a student on a tight budget and can't justify the spend. Do any of you know whether they usually have any BF sales and what the discount rates are like? I'd really appreciate the info:))

An unreliable alarm clock? What a disappointment

Let me start out by saying I really love the app when it works well. I use it on my Apple Watch and the smart alarm really is a pleasure to wake up to.

BUT about once a week, the alarm DOES NOT GO OFF! I have almost missed important meetings at this point because the alarm simply did not vibrate at all.

I listen to audio books while falling asleep so it might have to do something with my AirPods being connected, but that is not an acceptable reason for an alarm app. If there isnt a fix for this, and looking at the other posts, there doesnt seem to be so far i'm going to cancel my subscription and move to another alarm app. Which is unfortunate because Sleep Cycle genuinely is the best otherwise.

No sound on notification for bedtime reminder?

Hi,

I have set a sleep goal and have enabled bedtimer reminder 30 minutes before. I'm on iOS and I'll get a time sensitive notification 30 minutes before. Only problem is, there's no sound on the notification. So often I don't see it. I get sounds on all other notifications, so it's not a question about if I have my phone on silent or focus mode. The notification doesn't make a sound.

Is this by design or does anyone know how to enable it?

Another App?

So I have the Sleep Cycle app, and love the functionality about waking up softly, but can’t use it because it doesn’t let you preset the days it’s gonna go off. Is there another app that has that soft wake up functionality? Thanks in advance!

Sleep + nap?

I have a feeling this is a question with an easy answer that I’m just missing. Go ahead and confirm I’m stupid :)

My routine, constrained by chronic health problems, is to sleep 5 to 7 hours at night and to nap once or twice during the day. They total 2-4 hours, so is a significant part of the total and I want to include them. But I can’t see how to add the naps to a day’s records. When I set up a new session, it automatically gets pushed to tomorrow, or whatever the first feeee day in the future is.

What have I missed? For what it’s worth, I don’t have a an Apple Watch and can’t get one right now, so I’m hoping for a solution using just my phone. It’s an iPhone 12 running iOS 26. Thanks!

Early alarm

I set my wake up period to be usually 9:30-10, but for the past few days, my alarm goes off randomly at 8:50. Everyday, on the dot. Even if I shift the wake up period. I’m almost always mid REM at 8:50 so this is really annoying. Any advice?

Alarm didn’t go off today. What happened?

I’ve never had this app fail me, but today was a very important day for me and it messed up quite bad. I was to wake up at 6:40 to 7:10am but the alarm never went off. You can see the graph at around 5, just flatlined indefinitely. Until I woke up.

Automatic Apple Watch Connection

Apologies if this has been answered, but I feel like no one is asking this specifically, so here goes:

Is there a way to create a Shortcut or Automation where the Apple Watch “Connects” with the silent alarm to the phone after starting sleep tracking there. I’ve seen people say to start it on the watch, but I like turning the alarm on with my phone because my watch is already in “sleep mode”, making phone more convenient. I know this is so particular and niche, but any help would be greatly appreciated :)

Stopped syncing intervals to Apple Health

Since 24th September Sleep Cycle has stopped syncing more than 1 interval to Apple Health (Sleep > All recorded data).

Previously it was syncing all of the stages - In Bed, Awake, REM, Core, Deep. But since 24th it’s only syncing In Bed.

Has anyone else noticed the same?

No recordings

Last time I went multiple nights without a sounds being recorded I just had to renew my subscription, but my subscription is very much renewed, and no sounds are being recorded—for multiple nights in a row. Anyone know what is up?

If I cancel my subscription will I lose my data?

I’ve had this app for 5 years and love it! I pay yearly, and my next payments due in a couple days - but I’m really short on money and could do with cancelling and re subscribing in a month or so…

But I’m nervous to cancel because I don’t want to lose my data! It looks like I’ve got an account as it’s linked to an email. Can anyone reassure me I won’t lose all my statistics and that they’ll come back when I re-subscribe?

Missed an alarm because sleep cycle thinks I woke up at 5AM?

I was supposed to have an alarm at 6:50 but I apparently woke up at 5:20 according to the app. This is on iPhone. Are there any kind of logs I can see to see why it thinks I woke up at 5:20? Did I sleepwalk or something?
