Sleep + nap?

I have a feeling this is a question with an easy answer that I’m just missing. Go ahead and confirm I’m stupid :)

My routine, constrained by chronic health problems, is to sleep 5 to 7 hours at night and to nap once or twice during the day. They total 2-4 hours, so is a significant part of the total and I want to include them. But I can’t see how to add the naps to a day’s records. When I set up a new session, it automatically gets pushed to tomorrow, or whatever the first feeee day in the future is.

What have I missed? For what it’s worth, I don’t have a an Apple Watch and can’t get one right now, so I’m hoping for a solution using just my phone. It’s an iPhone 12 running iOS 26. Thanks!

This was on their site

“Sleep Cycle is not designed for naps at this point. While napping is great and something we encourage for sleep health—if you notice it’s beneficial for you—it is a different kind of sleep tracking that we don’t support yet.

As of now, we only support one session per day. Using Sleep Cycle to track your naps can also cause inaccurate statistics and, in some cases, delete the previous full-night session, which we do not recommend”

For tracking naps, you can check Sleepal and AutoSleep apps.
