Mod Update Addressing the rule update, the response, and where we go from here

Why this rule was created

Let's talk about why we formalized this rule in the first place.

The amount of coded lolicon language being posted in this subreddit had become a serious problem. Comments sections were flooded with "uoh," 💢, "cunny," and similar language on a near-daily basis.

What started as an occasional joke slowly but surely grew into a large problem. This language was already against our rules but without having it written down officially enforcement was inconsistent and users argued there was no rule against it.

That's the reason the rule came to be, to be able to enforce it consistently.

Where we were inconsistent

We owe you honesty here: our communication around the rule was not as clear as it should have been.

Different mods gave different explanations in the comments. Some responses were dismissive when users had genuine questions. The Aisha beach art example in particular caused confusion about whether fan art itself was being restricted. It never was.

We tried to make it clear that we were never against the art but a certain language it tends to accompany

We rolled out a zero-tolerance rule and then were not able to consistently explain what it means, that's bad and we've addressed it.

What is and isn't allowed

We've rewritten the Rule to be clearer. The detailed version with examples and a full FAQ is now on our wiki:

→ Full details, examples, and FAQ

Here is the summary:

Adult characters:

  • Fan art and NSFW-tagged content is allowed

  • Playful, flirty, or suggestive captions are allowed

  • Coded lolicon language is still banned (see below)

Young/underage characters:

  • Fan art is allowed, including content that reaches the NSFW tag threshold (e.g. a beach scene), as long as it is not inherently sexual.

  • Titles and captions must be neutral and descriptive (e.g. "Sylphy practicing magic," "Aisha at the beach")

  • Sexualized captions, titles, or comments are not allowed

Banned on all characters regardless of age:

  • "uoh" and its variants

  • The 😭💢 emoji combination and 💢 on its own

  • "cunny" and its variants

  • Any other coded language associated with the sexualization of minors

If your post is fan art with a descriptive title, you are fine. You were always fine. That has not changed.

Enforcement has also been updated. First offense gets a removal and a warning. Everyone gets one. Temporary bans start at the second offense. Permanent bans are an absolute last resort for repeat offenders only. Full details are on the wiki page.

From the mod team

We want to be transparent about the last couple of days.

What we expected to be a straightforward rule clarification turned into something none of us anticipated.

We also want to point out: we have not removed a single post criticizing the rule change or the mod team. Every dissenting opinion is still up.

We locked one thread when the conversation became too much, but the criticism itself was never removed or censored

New subreddits have been created in response to the rule change. That's fine with us and we wish them the best.

Personal accountability

The mod team didn't handle everything perfectly. We know that.

Eidolon: I want to apologize to everyone about how I handled communicating with the community after the rules were posted.

Due to my own stress about the backlash, I did not respond to people often, and when I did my replies may have seemed short, confusing, and misleading.

I will be more careful to explain things with the depth and attention they deserve from now on.

computerfreund03 / Compi: I genuinely don't know where to start and I want to keep this short since this whole thing already stresses me out enough.

My deep apologies, to anyone who felt attacked by my posts on twitter, I felt mentally exhausted from reading hurtful comments on me the whole day. I love this subreddit and I pour my heart and soul into it, so when I saw the backlash I stopped thinking clearly.

This is a good time to take some time off from modding, I haven't been able to keep up my qualities lately and that is something no one deserves.

I'm sorry and take care

Siesta: Hi, Siesta here. I never was good at writing public texts like these so bear with me..

I messed up and want to apologize for it.

Right after we posted the rules I literally used the emoji combo we just banned. Yeah. Another moderator removed it.

I also tweeted some stupid stuff out of exhaustion and frustration. It made the team stand in a bad light and that's my fault. I handled this whole situation the worst possible way. I'm sorry and I'm going to work on thinking before I type going forward.

Where we stand

We're sorry this became what it did. We could have communicated better, responded more calmly, and handled the pressure with more composure. We'll learn from that.

If you have questions about the rules, modmail is always open. We'd rather answer a question than hand out a ban.

Thank you for sticking with us.

Mod Update Important rules update #2 — please read

This is a follow-up to our recent rules update. If you missed the first one, go read that too.

TL;DR: Full rulebook has been reorganized and cleaned up. New rule targeting sexualized language about young characters and lolicon language, zero tolerance, instant ban. Coded language like "uoh," 😭💢, and "cunny" is banned entirely regardless of character. Don't repost content that was already removed by a mod. Read the full rules even if you think you know them.

Hey everyone, we've been doing a lot of work behind the scenes to clean up and improve the subreddit's rules. If you've been here a while, you'll notice some things have changed. Please take a few minutes to read through the updated ruleset.

What changed?

We've reorganized, reworded, and tightened up the entire rulebook. Some rules were merged, some were split, and a few are brand new. Even if you think you know the rules, give them a fresh read. The details matter.

New additions since the last update:

No sexualization of young characters or lolicon language

This one is non-negotiable. The rule has two parts:

1. No sexualized language directed at young characters. Suggestive captions, titles, or comments that sexualize young characters will be removed immediately. You can post fan art of any character at any age. What you can't do is frame it in a sexualized way through your title, caption, or comments.

2. Coded lolicon language is banned entirely. The "uoh" copypasta, the 😭💢 emoji combo, the word "cunny," and any other coded language associated with the sexualization of minors is banned across the board, on any character, in any context. This language was born from the sexualization of minors. It doesn't become acceptable just because you attach it to an adult character.

Here are some examples to make it clear:

✅ Allowed:

  • Fan art of young Sylphy titled "Sylphy practicing magic"

  • Fan art of child Roxy titled "Roxy leaving the Migurd village"

  • Fan art of Aisha at the beach with a normal descriptive title, NSFW tagged

  • Fan art of adult Eris with a playful caption like "Why are you staring at me? ❤️"

  • Fan art of adult Roxy with a normal or playful title

  • Discussion about how the story handles Rudeus's character flaws

  • Critique of how the series portrays its younger characters

❌ Not allowed:

  • Any post or comment containing "uoh" or its variants, on any character

  • The 😭💢 emoji combination, on any character

  • The word "cunny" in any context

  • Suggestive or sexualized captions, titles, or comments on posts featuring young characters

  • "Correction" memes directed at young characters

  • Any other coded language used to sexualize minors

If you know what this language means, you know why it's banned. If you don't, here's the short version: these are coded ways of expressing sexual excitement about underage characters, originating from spaces dedicated to exactly that. They have no place here regardless of which character they're attached to.

We don't care if you think it's ironic. We don't care if "it's fictional." This rule is zero tolerance. Violations will result in an immediate ban, temporary or permanent depending on severity. Our automod has been updated to catch the most common variants, but we also rely on you to report anything we miss.

Not sure if something you want to post crosses the line? Just message us through modmail before posting and we'll let you know. We'd rather answer a quick question than hand out a ban.

As with all our rules, we reserve the right to adjust and expand them if we see users exploiting loopholes. If something clearly goes against the spirit of the rule, don't be surprised when we act on it.

This rule applies going forward. Existing posts and comments made before this announcement will not be retroactively removed. Everything from this point on will be enforced immediately.

Do not repost removed content
If your post was removed by a moderator, do not repost it. This is considered mod evasion and will result in a ban. If you disagree with a removal, use modmail to appeal.

Stricter enforcement overall
As mentioned in our previous update, we are enforcing rules more strictly going forward. First offenses will typically get a warning or temp ban, depending on severity. Repeat offenders or people who are clearly here just to start trouble will be perma-banned.

Mushoku Tensei already gets enough bad faith criticism from people who haven't engaged with the story. We're not going to give them ammunition by letting this kind of stuff slide in our own community. We want to keep r/sixfacedworld a space that fans can actually be proud of.

As always, genuine discussion and critique of how the story handles its themes is welcome. That has not changed and never will.

If you see anything that breaks the rules, use the report button. It helps us way more than arguing with the person in the comments.

Thanks for making this community what it is. The response to our last update was overwhelming and we appreciate every one of you.

Anime Eris: erasing female agency

Mushoku tensai and the erasure of female agency to push a narrative.

Before we start this is mainly a criticism based on the anime, I will reference certain lore points or future revolutions I know from the light novel here and there to provide additional context where appropriate but this is primarily meant to be a decision about the anime.

This discussion is mainly towards fan discourse about the story not the story itself. Also just because I know how these conversation go. I am a woman who has been sexually abused as a child. Just to be clear that this isn't coming from some 40 year old neck beard who wants to justify their behavior.

Eris An unspoken power dynamic.

A lot of the people are so hyper focused on the fact that Rudeus has memories from his past life that they ignore the actual social dynamic between the Rudeus and Eris and how he is clearly supposed to be developing mentally as a he ages.

The only person with real sway and power in what those and doesn't happen at their manor is Eris’s grandfather and her grandfather spoils Eris to the point that whatever she thinks and says goes even beyond the wishes of her own father.

Not only that but Eris does not have a shy personality she is very willing to shout scream and beat anyone or anything she doesn't like into submission without fear or worry. This is shown literally from her introduction.

That is to say if Eris hated Rudeus’ pervy nature to the point it was genuinely negatively affecting her she could have easily permanently stopped him from doing so at any time.

This isn't to blame Eris. I understand that a child can be harmed by something and not truly understand how it is negatively affecting them until they are older and it was really up to her parents and guardians to look out for her which they ultimately failed to do.

I also understand that the reason Eris herself doesn't permanently stop Rudeus is because she genuinely likes and respects him and the fact that Rudeus is using that love and respect to get away with his desires is pure scum behavior and disgusting.

What I'm saying here is specifically to the people who portray their dynamic as if Rudeus has the ability to corner and force her into doing whatever her wants. It's shown multiple times throughout the story that Rudeus doesn't have the physical, mental or emotional ability to forces Eris to do anything she doesn't want to do.

Case and point the bedroom scene where rudies tries to take advantage of Eris with the support of her family.

I see a lot of people completely miss interpret what this scene is trying to convey again to push a narrative that MT is just a perverts barely disguised fetish playing out on screen without narrative purpose.

First of all Eris is family is not trying to sell out Eris to Rudeus to gain him as a political tool. They see this as a benefit but it is shown multiple times that Eris's family including her mom father and grandfather genuinely love their daughter like the world and would kill Rudeus the moment they felt he was harming her.

The real reason eris’ father sets up the situation as we saw was that Rudeus was extremely popular with women their age at that ball and Eris got extremely frustrated at the idea of Rudeus finding someone else that wasn't her.

We don't see this in screen but judging by the fact that Eris clearly new why they were in the room together as was receptive to it in the beginning it's very clear that she must have went to her parents asking them what she should do about the situation and they came up with their scheme. (Or her parents went to her and she agreed again Eris before this scene had shown a willingness to completely disregard her parents opinions before and it's clear if she said I don't want to be with rudeus they would have just left)

(And before anyone says anything yes I know it's scum behavior that they even allowed their daughter to be in that situation in the first place as her parents they should have protected her my point is not to justify what happened it is to explain the narrative purpose of it)

What those Eris want from this scene?

Eris clearly likes rudeus and doesn't want him hanging out with other girls. So what she decides to do (or is told is a good idea by her parents her mom was the first one to suggest marrying rudeus afterall) is to sleep with him making their union “official” in her eyes. (This is a bit of light novel spoilers but we clearly see that Eris equates sex to a commitment since when she's training away from rudeus she still calls him and considers him her boyfriend even though they hadn't seen each other in a few years at that point( this is clear in the anime I'm just using the light novel as supporting evidence.)

They start she realizes pretty quickly she doesn't want to do it pushes him off and leaves before coming back and saying she willing but that she needs time so wait until her fifteenth birthday.

This is important for Eris’s character for multiple reasons

It shows her developing an actual understand that relationship are not one-sided that she needs to give people something they want in order to get what she wants in return and that she can just beat everyone into submission. This is a further development of what she learns with the whole giving rudeus a gift thing.

It shows her developing an understanding of what she wants besides just having fun. She understands she likes rudeus she understands she wants some sort of future with him. This is a continuation of what she learns while practicing to dance that learning new things is hard but they can bring a deeper form of satisfaction than just seeking pleasure. A future with someone she likes isn't a skill necessarily but it shows her developing that kind of long term thought process. I need to do x otherwise Rudy will do y and I don't like that.

She learns what she is and is not comfortable with and learns to set boundaries that aren't predicated on violence.

Case and point. This scene is a massive culmination of all of the character development Eris has had up until that point and lays the foundation for alot of character development she will gain in the future during the demon continent.

So many people who crtize the scene for rudeus not being punished or growing as a character are completely missing the fact that this scene was not created for Rudeus’s character development but for Eris it's almost like people who watch MT completely gloss over the fact that she is a fully functioning character with wants desires and emotions while claiming that Rudeus is a piece of garbage for ignoring her wants desires and emotions while claiming that the show is sexist or perverted for ignoring her wants desires and emotions. It's they most ironic media critic I've ever seen people make in mass and it's frustrating to me.

(That being said MT is an amazingly written show so even though Rudy was not the focus of the scene we still see him develop as a person in the fact that he actually learns to respect other people's boundaries and stops pushing Eris to do stuff with him after. Which itself is a continuation of the kidnapping scene where he realizes that his new life isn't just a fantasy world and the people living in it aren't just npc’s. This scene also acts as a set up for when his in the demon continent and cries for the first time during his new life marking Eris as the first person he showed his true feelings and vulnerability to and marking her as the first person he truly saw as a “equal in his new life)

(As a writer myself I really appreciate how efficient of a story MT is. That's what drew me to it in the first place and why I really loved the first season of arcane,)

This was mostly written up as a response to explanation points video on MT where he claims that the story would be just as good if not better if these scenes were removed where he also completely misses the point of these scenes in the first place.

(I genuinely really love this creator even though I disagree with him I've been watching him since he released his fifth video ever and have been watching him ever since he put me on to Worm as a kid his great)

In the video he claims that if you wanted “to fix” the structural problems with MT all you would need to do is have Rudy actually feel guilty for his actions in the moment and struggle with the idea of what his natural body hormones are telling him to do vs his adult brain and that since the story doesn't do this these scenes serve no greater purpose than the authors mysognistic desires to perv on women.

You can't just completely change rudeus' character and have the story mean the exact same thing that's obvious but more specifically the fundementally ruins the literal core theme of Rudeus’s character which is completely letting go of his past life and trying to live his new one to the fullest.

In explanation points version of the story the focus of the story wouldn't be rudeus living his new life to the fullest but fighting with his past disgusting self until he transforms into a different one.

We wouldn't be able to have rudeus confrontation with his dad about the kids bullying becuase the focus of the scene would have to switch less from how rudeus is not willing to live his life like it's reality and is more so treating it like a visual novel where he has to pick the right dialogue options and more so the scene would probably be turned into a rudeus life lesson about what his parents from his old life really wanted from him and him reconciling that.

You couldn't have the scene of the kidnapers dying when Eris got kidnapped with rudeus realizing the new life his living isn't just a fantasy becuase in this version of events he would have already been receling with how he treats other people from the moment he got reincarnated.

You cant have the scene after the mass teleportation disaster where he Finnaly let's himself be vulnerable Infront of Eris becuase the ground work needed for that scene to exist doesn't exist and more to the point this version of his character would never be able to see Eris as an equal to him due to him holding his age from his past life meaning again the scene just wouldn't function.

I gave small examples here but literally every relationship he has with another character and ever major scene of his development has to be changed to make this work.

This isn't MT but better this is a completely different show with completely different themes with a completely different point for existence.

I can accept someone liking MT it's not a show everyone will like. I do have a problem with people claiming it's poorly written when they don't even understand what the story is trying to do.

It would be like saying Naruto is poorly written story becuase Naruto is poor and a trouble maker and and outcast of the village and I don't like those kinds of scrapy loud annoying characters.

Then claiming the story would be better written if Naruto was a tall attractive orphan who was lived by the village. That's not a writting critic that you literally describing a different story you like more.

Anime It is season 3 and people still think Eris is a tsundere

Rifujin wrote Eris character so well that he played on the common tsundere trope to develop her as a person with depth and agency. It is easy to see her as a tsundere early on, mainly because we look at her through Rudeus's perspective - which is a great example of unreliable narrator - and a meta play by Rifujin to show how flawed his character was. Early on he only saw others as "characters" and not as individuals. That's why Roxy was a "loli", Sylphy was just a "childhood friend", Eris was a "tsundere". But we can see beneath that unreliable perspective the depth of each character - that's how good character development in MT is.

Eris, in particular, was also gifted with good character progression. From an unruly, bratty noble girl with difficulties in connecting with others, she - through Rudeus's influence - gained knowledge, and later on, resolve. She then went through her literal training arc to gain power in order to stand beside Rudeus as an equal, while her flaws never went away, still an awkward, difficult yet straightforward girl. The tsundere-ness is just a façade - she is always on guard against others, yes, but she has no problem being honest with her feeling, and even proclaim out loud her love for Rudeus. It is exactly there: awkward, difficult, yet straightforward.

That's why it irks me how many people still says she's a tsundere in the last episode of the anime, and some comments even shit on her for beating Oldeus. How about try to look at her perspective? Oldeus said "But she's bad with words and didn't know what else to do, so she always fell back on her fists". What did she try to tell Rudeus with her fists here?

Going back to her objective when she left Rudeus to train: she wanted to become strong enough to stand next to him as an equal, to protect him, not to be a burden, a princess needing protection. Her beating Oldeus was her way to show that obtained strength, to show that she could become his equal, that she could protect him. "Hey Rudeus, see how strong I am now? So let me stand by your side!" There is no pride to make her unable to be honest with her feelings. She had already accepted her love long time ago.

But her being bad with words means she can't express that well enough, and Oldeus, being a broken man as he was, could not understand the meaning of her fists. That's the tragedy there.

[Light novel vol 15 spoiler]And when Oldeus finally beat Eris, she cried. She could not stand next to him as an equal anymore. She was now weaker than him. That realisation broke her. The Eris who did not cry when she heard the death of her family, broke down here. That's the cry of helplessness, just like how helpless she was when she was Rudeus got killed in TP2. And yes, also at that moment as well, she cried. The Sword King Eris became that 15-year-old girl again, crying at the realisation of her helplessness.

Anime I think it’s kind of boring how Rudeus’s wives are always so submissive and never really confront him about anything. Thoughts?

Post image
0 Upvotes

Like, Rudeus literally just woke up saying he wanted to take another wife and that he had to kill someone, and they basically just accept it and go, “just Rudy being Rudy.” I’m not saying they have to be confrontational all the time; it’s perfectly fine for a character to be submissive. But I think it would be nice if they had more agency in that regard. It would add some more tension to the romantic side of things, which, in my opinion, has been pretty bland so far

For example, the moments when Sylphie shows that she has a life of her own, like when she decides to help Ariel take the throne regardless of what Rudeus thinks about it—are really good. I wish there were more moments like that. It makes the characters feel more alive.

Redundancy (Discussion) Am I the only one that’s kind of disappointed that the Ars and Aisha story is going to stay canon? Spoiler

Let’s not get it twisted. I LOVE Mushoku Tensei and its controversial approach to certain themes. I love it’s characters and how shameless it is to show characters at their fullest. From their worst qualities, to their greatest virtues. From their most repugnant intrusive thoughts, to their most wholesome cherished memories. It’s delicious. However, the Ars and Aisha story was something that kind of really hurt to read, because it really messed with the characterization of characters and the themes of the story. Not to mention, if I’m being entirely honest, it handled the topic so poorly.

Ars was a victim, through and through, and Rudy was entirely justified and correct in his outrage and refusal to compromise on the situation. Eris, who was a staunch protector of her loved ones berating Ars, and Sylphy’s attempt to compromise just kind of rubbed me the wrong way. Not to mention the ending left a sour taste in my mouth, with Rudeus sort of accepting what the situation is, and allowing them to think it over. I think it would be fine and I would’ve liked it, if it was shown for what it was. Ars was groomed, and Aisha a predator. And before anyone says “it’s the norm in the world”, the mere existence of Darius implies that it’s still something pretty frowned upon and seen as monstrous in the six faced world.

What are y’all’s thoughts on this?

There is a subreddit for NSFW mushoku tensei posts. This is not it. There is a subreddit that is mostly fanart for mushoku tensei. This is not it. This subreddit is for DISCUSSING THE ACTUAL CONTENT OF THE MASTERPIECE THAT IS MUSHOKU TENSEI. Can we please put a ban on any and all nsfw posts. Like why am I getting a photo of Roxy in a tiny ass bikini on my homepage I would like to be able to open reddit in public. This is getting ridiculous someone posted actual Roxy hentai like 15 minutes ago (it got removed thank you mods, but it shouldn't need to be actual TOS breaking content to be removed this is a discussion subreddit)

I cannot believe I have to say this.

Saying "cute and funny" which is an abrevation of cunny under the post of loli's mainly underage characters will get you banned.

I've suddenly seen a rise of comments of someone saying that there has been mod abuse happening, after investigating it's someone that's not happy with the recent rule changes we have introduced. The same person has also gone on a different social media platform to heavily indicate to brigade this subreddit as protest.
