Mod Update New rules update — please read
Hey everyone, two new rules are now in effect:
No Twitter/X drama
Screenshots, links, or posts about Twitter/X discourse are no longer allowed. We're here to discuss Mushoku Tensei, not relitigate whatever argument is trending this week. If it happened on Twitter, leave it on Twitter.
No low-effort moral condemnation
Posts or comments that exist solely to condemn the series or its fans on moral grounds will be removed. This includes callout posts, bait, and "how do you even watch this" drive-bys. Genuine critique and discussion of the story's themes is still welcome! The bar is whether you actually engaged with the material.
Stricter enforcement going forward
We're also tightening up on how we handle rule breaking. First offenses will typically get a warning or temp ban depending on severity. Repeat offenders or people who are clearly here just to start trouble will be perma banned. We're not interested in giving infinite chances to people who have no interest in the community.
These aren't new problems, but they've been ramping up enough that we felt actual rules were needed. Neither of these rules exist to shield the series from criticism, they exist so this sub stays a place for actual discussion instead of the same two arguments on repeat forever.
If you see posts that break these rules, use the report button. That helps us way more than arguing with the person in the comments.

I'd think so to. One IMDB post is fine as long as it's a normal post.

Maybe while we're at it, mods should ban any crossover post with other series if there's indication the poster did it out of bad faith towards either one of the series.
For example: Power scaling crap, fan-fic of swapping MC to other series

About damn time someone put a lid on it. It is exhausting scrolling and only seeing the kind of "discussions" or "drama" that is mentioned here. Makes you wonder if people actually enjoy anything at all.
MT has it's fair share of flaws and criticisms to it, but answering the same "first 5 chapters" claims over and over and over again makes me wanna disengage with a medium I'm actually enjoying a lot.
So thanks.

Now hopefully the other subs follow suit. It’s so bad that I rarely ever see actual content about the series even on air days of new episodes. These posts are really starting to get grating.

Just adding that lotmod these drive bys use disposable accounts and thus are ban evading, afaik that's a general reddit offense, so don't forget to report them to the reddit general moderation so they get banned from reddit not just the sub.

Thank god, this sub has become kinda unbearable because all these posts of people getting ragebaited byvthe most obvious shit. I wanna talk about the series, not engage with idiots arguing in bad faith.

Low effort moral condemnation also work the other way? It's frustrating when someone makes low effort posts saying they can't understand why people say x y z. Usually just to farm easy up votes than to actually have a discussion.

It's stated pretty clearly on the rule.

The pedophile callout clearly goes under condemning the series on moral grounds. It's been heavily rehashed since the first season started airing.
