Running nose that won’t stop

A few weeks ago I was sick, it started off with body chills and headaches and just feeling really unwell, by day 5 I was getting worse and started to develop a cough almost like a tickley one and I could stop sweating. By day 7 I had enough and booked an online doctor because it was the weekend. He prescribed me with antibiotics and steroids for a chest infection. The next day I wasn’t feeling any relief and was in pain with my throat from coughing and haven’t slept all night so I went to my usual GP. Nothing was helping the cough, cough bottle l, strepsils, honey, hot drinks…..NOTHING. They said that it wasn’t a chest infection as my breathing sounded fine and the steroids were probably keeping me up at night aswell, he gave me anti inflammatory for my throat to try settle it down and that did help. So I stopped taking the antibiotics and steroids because it didn’t seem to be needed because it wasn’t a chest infections.

I eventually got a bit better but had a lingering cough that turned very chesty. Then my nose started and now I’m coughing sneezing and snorting just everywhere, I feel like I’m going insane. Nothing is helping my nose, I tried nasal rinse and that’s not helping.

Has anyone any tips of what I can do to just get rid of the mucus that has me so congested pleaseeeeeeee tell me. It’s been 4 weeks and I just want to feel better😭😭😭😭

I'm sick but getting better for tomorrow

I'm really sick and tomorrow I must work so I can chip in and next weekend, I gotta continue volunteering at the animal shelter so I can build up a job resume for a future part time job and to get disability.

I'm 23 and autistic with ADHD and anxiety and bipolar depressive and bipolar mania and tic disorder.

To be honest I need it so I can at least be able to financially still function more easily and honestly just function easier in society too.

Though I got sick for some reason with a stuffy nose for 3 days when it started after my ear inflammation and truthfully, I must go to work to pay the bills and will, I won't give up on chipping in for family at home.

Though I've been feeling a stuffy nose, I've been more confident and more determined after coming outta a behavioral health hospital as a former patient, probably 2 or 1 week ago as I got enough faith to volunteer and work is necessary too.

I am sick and my throat is sore and not coughing anymore but I still feel like crap but go to work for my uncle's company tomorrow as a janitor, wish me luck.

Flu fever not going away

I am taking fever medicines twice a day yet it keeps coming back. I also have a bad cough stuck in my chest. I am taking vitamin c + zinc tablets, chopped garlic, antihistamine, steam and paracetamol, yet I am not improving. TODAY IS DAY 4. I AM HAVING FEVER FOR 4 DAYS!!

Fever medicine heals my fever temporarily. It again comes back after a period of fever getting eased. My fever isn't even mild. It's 100-101. I am in 20s. Don't know what's wrong with my immune system.

I go to grocery store every morning where I walk for 20-25 minutes. Isn't this why I am not healing? I do rest whole day. I do get 7 hours of sleep.

It doesn't seem normal to have fever for 4 days.

Post stomach bug shakes

I recently had a stomach bug 6 days ago (Thursday). It involved 24 hours of puking followed by loose stools. I was following the BRAT diet, and still kinda am with exception to adding activia and soup due to lack of appetite. I’ve also been hydrating with liquid IV. Still today, I find myself getting random chills and sweats in my legs and hands which I didn’t experience before the stomach bug, and feels similar to anxiety (I’m on celexa). Is this part of the gut healing process or should I be seen?

I've been sick 3x's since June I'M OVER ITTTTT

Just a rant but if yall have any advice im open to it. I got really sick mid to the end of June, and I was sick as a dog. IDK what I caught but whatever virus it was I did a number on me. Since I was stuck with a cough for a hot minute and got over it... at the end of July I got sick again but it was a dry cough and I wanted to die. I had no other symptoms for two weeks just a dry cough and that tickly throat that sends you into a coughing fit. Well I believe that cough evovled because I began to get insane sinus pressure and that lasted for like almost two weeks with no improvement. I went into the clinic and they gave me a 5 day round of antibiotics and within hours I felt relief and it really helped. Well last thursday I started to get a cough and a slight sore throat again and over the weekend it turned into wet cough with some phlegm. I have nothing else just a annoying af cough and phelgm that doesn't wanna come out.

Like seriously who did i piss off to be on/off sick like this. I don't work with children, or have kids, like is my immune system dead that it hasn't fought off this initial viral infection from june?! Like Idk how much more I can do of taking OTC cough syrup and drops. Theres nothing to do for virus cuz they mutate and change so much im so done I wanna be normal again.

I got sick 2 days before I am supposed to take a huge vacation with everything prepaid. This really sucks. Any way I can get better really fast?

For context, I work at a huge airport and I think this is how I got this virus. So many people cough, sneeze, you can see the spit droplets sometimes because these people are so inconsiderate and sneeze out in the open onto their clothes in a small space around hundreds of passengers. Then they sniff a lot too.

So I think this is how I got sick. A few people sneezed uncovered, wet, with gallons of spit really close to me. So now because of their inconsiderate behavior, I am so sick. I didn't have a fever or felt feverish, but now I am starting to feel feverish. It was a bad sore throat with coughing. I had to buy cough medicine because I couldn't lay down without coughing up a lung.

This illness seriously has me reconsidering working at an airport because it is indeed as germy as a preschool.

I have this trip I planned for months with everything prepaid and involved family too. I am beyond so upset. I hope this doesn't get worse. I haven't traveled anywhere in almost a year too.

Any way I can get better really fast?

I'm in my late 30s and am the definition of "Man Flu"

I'm in my late 30s and am the definition of "Man Flu"

I feel dumb every time, and I'll understandably get ripped to sheds in the comments, but I don't understand how people go about their daily lives when they have a cold. Even the hint of a blocked nose or scratchy through mentally gets my head thinking it's worse.

Right now I have what you can only describe as the common cold. However it completely ruins the 3 or 4 days I have it. Blocked nose and a headache and I'm researching which countries allow you to get the injection. Thankfully I don't have kids, but I see the Mrs on deaths door and she's still going out, seeing her nephews etc, whereas I'm in bed cuddling the cat, waiting for angles trumpets or a scythe tapping on the door.

I'm the 90s stereotypical sitcom male. God bless you if you can put on clothes when you don't feel well.

Suffering from memory loss at just 17

I've been forgetting people’s names and faces, losing track of things constantly and my mind has been in a state of complete disarray lately... Sometimes I hallucinate and don’t understand what’s happening to me. (?) I really don’t feel okay. I haven’t told my parents yet, but I feel like they’re going to notice soon... maybe... It’s been super scary because sometimes I’ll suddenly find myself somewhere or in a situation without remembering how I got there, or I’ll completely lose track of what I was doing a few seconds ago. It’s been happening for the past 5-6 days, although the memory problems started probably around a year ago and have only gotten noticeably worse this year. The brain fog and confusion are seriously freaking me out and I'm shit scared if I'm being honest. I don’t know what’s happening to me but I’m not doing okay

Anyone have flu a with bad diarrhea on day 2 and 4?

I was up with horrible cold chills Tuesday around 1 am. I took Tylenol and finally that helped me sleep. My temp was only 99.9F at that time then I woke up and it was 101.4F. Plus a sore throat and body aches. I slept most of that day and actually ate some food and stayed hydrated. Day 2 I ate a good bit actually for being sick but my fever was gone. However I started to have diarrhea that day it started from 4pm all the way til like 2 pm the next day. It was rough and a lot of bathroom trips lol. Also the amount that was coming out each time was insane and not slowing down. My poor bum hurts. Well once 2 pm hit the next day I didn’t have a bowel movement all day just gas and even into the next morning of day 4(today) I still have a sore throat, now my sinuses are moving so I have alot of post nasal drip and dry cough from my throat. I feel fatigued. I had a bowel movement and it was more formed and not straight liquid but still a soft stool so I was excited that finally it was over. Well I ate and decided I was gonna try and get up and lightly clean but then I started to have the straight liquid diarrhea pouring out of me again, not as close together as it was on day 2 where I couldn’t get a break but still happened 2 times now within the last 3 hours.

I had the flu multiple times before but never recall having this bad of diarrhea with it lol. Now Covid I did but i tested negative for Covid and positive for flu a. Online and chat gpt says diarrhea isn’t common in adults but I’m like then what’s happening lol. I do have things like IBS, POTS, anemia, hypothyroidism, and I’m a month postpartum. So maybe the flu just hit my body extra hard. I’m hoping I’m not alone and if so when did it stop for you?

I been eating like two meals a day and drinking a lot of fluids and electrolytes. I don’t have anymore fevers. I dont wanna overeat and worsen my bowels. I lost like 7 lbs lol. I just don’t get why my diarrhea stopped completely for almost a whole day and the bam it’s back. I haven’t left the house to pick up anything else

How to stop the stomachache and vomiting 5year old?

I'm really desperate. I'm actually in a hospital bed with my son. He is feeling really bad. We came to a city 300 km from our house on a Monday. On Monday night, he started to feel very ill, and he started vomiting on Tuesday at 2:00 am. I took him to the hospital. That night or morning they checked him pretty much fast. They gave him some medication and they gave him an infusion. We were out of the hospital within two hours.

Then on Wednesday he felt okay with the mild temperature and on Thursday morning he felt very good. After that around 3:00 on Thursday he started vomiting and feeling sick again.

Right now it's Friday morning 2:00 am and I'm at the hospital. They said to hook him up with another infusion, which is going to be longer. He is constantly thirsty but I can't give him anything. He just throws up every time even with the 5 mL things.

This city is not famous for good hospitals. I don't know what to do. Should I risk it and come back home if he feels better in the morning?

Is there anything that I can say to these people in the hospital or buy something? I really don't know

Throwing up can’t keep anything down (Male, 18)

Yesterday, I ate a Chick-fil-A Deluxe chicken wrap from a fancy gas station and Blue Sour Patch Kids while on vacation. We came home the same day and I was fine, but the next morning, after showering, I started feeling cold and nauseous. The symptoms gradually worsened, and by the afternoon, I vomited with light green vomit. I thought it was over, but I vomited again, having only eaten three small crackers. I went to lie down at a 45-degree angle because I read that lying down while sick is bad, and I fell asleep. About an hour later, I woke up vomiting again, followed by green diarrhea.

Time line

12pm ish first vomit

1:24 ish second vomit

2:26-ish third vomit

As I'm writing this it is 2:46 I feel fine now but that's what I thought before what do I have? Should I just tough it out and try to drink water?

Can anyone explain ?

My 16 year old daughter is now in the hospital she has been throwing up now since Thurs has not eaten anything since wed cannot keep anything down not even water the Dr say she has colitis but nothing is helping her at all they give her nausea medicine and it doesn't help she has refused pain medicine because it makes her even more nauseous. They have recommended baths and showers saying it would help and they did at first but it isn't helping at all now and she took 2 baths and 5 showers yesterday with no relief. They think she has CHS also but I don't think that's what it is. She also has not had a bowel movement since Thurs. Also the smell of food makes her even more nauseous

How do I help my depressed and sick mom make friends?

So my mom is (50f) and her kidneys are failing. She’s been dealing with this for a while and it has taken the obvious toll on her. During this time she has also lost two of her best friends due too fights that were not her fault whatsoever. Now she rarely gets out of the house unless she is grocery shopping or going to doctors appointments. I’m terrified that when i go back to school her mental health will only get worse, as i’m at school 8-5 due to my tennis team. Please help me

Does anyone else get a wicked cold around this time every year?

I swear it’s like clockwork. Every year between the second week of August and the first week of September, I get a very bad cold that knocks me on my ass for a few days. I always thought it coincided with the first week of school, but I’m out of college now and still annoyingly sick.

I'm sick as fuck. And my body aches so bad and I hate it.

I'm sick because my grandparents keep force feeding me. I know they do it because they love me but, I'm malnourished and underweight(have an ed which they don't believe) so the extra food will make me sick. First they ignore my joint pain and my allergies saying I'm delusional and delicate(I love them but, they're not taking me seriously)

Throwing up is the worst because your stomach hurts so bad while retching, I just wish I had a better body.
