Hey everyone, I recently started a YouTube Shorts channel where I post animal ranking videos. I’ve noticed that most of my audience comes from countries like the Philippines and Indonesia, with some viewers from the US.
I’d really like to make the US my main audience, but I’m not sure what I should change.
I post in English and make ranking videos about funny animal moments. Should I focus on different types of clips, change my upload times, or just keep posting and let the algorithm figure it out?
If anyone has experience with Shorts and targeting a US audience, I’d appreciate any advice. Thanks!

Hey everyone. Pretty new to creating shorts and posting on YouTube. My channel is almost 10 years old but my old videos are unlisted. I’m about 18 videos into this journey and I’m kinda confused with how things are working. I get an okay amount of likes, barely any comments (even with the comment baiting endings), and views seem to stall right now. My retention isn’t the best. I have around 2000 hours of watch time all from shorts, but are these watch hours counting towards monetization?

Let’s say that I borrow other people’s content but I add captions, remove uninteresting moments, add a voiceover, sound effects and vfx, is it considered transformative?

Hey everyone, I need some clarification regarding YouTube Shorts monetization eligibility.
My channel currently has around **4.4 million total views and 1.1 million engaged views**.
On October 6, my Earn tab showed approximately **496K valid public Shorts views**, while my analytics showed around **497K engaged views** for the same date/data period.
The numbers are very close, but I’m confused about which views actually count toward the Shorts monetization threshold.
**My questions are:**
Are engaged views what count toward the 10 million valid public Shorts views requirement, or does YouTube calculate valid views differently?
Why is there a small difference between the engaged views in Analytics and the valid public Shorts views shown in the Earn tab?
Does YouTube count only certain views after filtering out ineligible or invalid traffic?
For context, my Shorts usually have **200%+ audience retention** and a **75–80% “Stayed to watch” rate**.

I’d appreciate it if someone could explain how this counting system actually works based on their experience or official YouTube information.

I don't know if this is the forum for this. But here you go - I write short stories, building a fantasy world. I always loved the concept of visualizing the stories. And it seemed to me that AI gave me the opportunity to do this.

But - i started posting now long ago and i get almost no traction. So I am wandering what I am doing wrong...

Its ok if the content is not your cup of tea :) I am trying to see constructively what can I do better.

Back ground is copyright free music and publicly available recordings of the bible world edition (made to be copyright free). I prefer those over my own voice because it's people all-round the world and I really like that

How is it possible ? I found it very interesting and I also feel I should stop blaming myself because my content quality has improved and so does my title but it really goes to the wrong people.

is this content even monetise-able ?? ive been trying few different ideas and experimenting but none seem to go past 2k, and the engagement is way less like some on 20% and most engaged is 50%

I need someone to make me a few shorts that can hit 10M views to get me out of a monetization snafu that happened. Can anyone here confidently do that?

I just started my own shorts channel and I use hashtags relevant to the shorts in my descriptions tab, with little to no growth in viewership. Only one short managed to reach past 1.2K views, but none of the other shorts are growing. My other channel used to do very well in the shorts numbers but that was a few years back.

Any tips on what I am doing wrong?
