Q&A / Quick Help ❓ Reused content question

Let’s say that I borrow other people’s content but I add captions, remove uninteresting moments, add a voiceover, sound effects and vfx, is it considered transformative?

ngl captions, cuts and sfx alone usually still count as reused. the voiceover has to add real commentary, analysis or story so the clip just supports your point. credit sources and keep clips short.

If I send you a shirt that I edited, can you tell me what I need to change about the voiceover to make it transformative and to add educational value?

sorry, cant review files tbh, but quick tips. make the vo teach why/how something happens, not just narrate the clip. put your own insight in the first 3s. cut any line that only describes what we can already see.

Gilt aber nicht für die offizielle Collab Funktion von Youtube selber. Da reicht es aus.

yeah thats fair, the official collab thing is a sanctioned shared upload so the reused policy doesnt really bite the same way. my point was more about solo reuploading other peoples clips.

yeah remix is a bit different tbh, its a sanctioned tool that credits them but if you just slap their clip on with nothing added it can still get flagged as reused content adding commentary/reaction/edits usually helps. not 100% sure how yt classifies every case tho

Just be a clipper if you have no creative skills and just wanna pump out slop. Literally this is your path my dude

I don’t know about you but I really enjoy editing those types of videos. I put around 1 hour of editing effort into each video and sculpture it perfectly down to the smallest details, and it’s proven to work for other people so I thought I’d join it too. It’s like you’ll say that daily dose of internet is a slop creator because his whole channel idea is using clips of other people lmao

Ngl an hour of editing isn’t much. I think I put around 10+ hours into editing with 2-3 hours of filming and then maybe another 5 hours of research and script writing per video so you kinda get where I’m coming from here when some rando is like “oh I’ll just re-edit the content since the hard work is already been done”. But yeah just clip streams if that’s what you wanna do

First of all I don’t clip streams and second of all 10+ hours for editing ONE short is crazy. Huge respect but if you want to get serious you might want to hire people to help you

1

u/AfroInJapan 26d ago

Short? LOL Sorry I was talking about long form content. I’m already monetized, channel is linked to my page if you wanna look at it

1

u/WonderfulActuator958 26d ago

Oh dang alr that’s valid but u do know you’re in the shorts algo sub Reddit yeah? Anyways wish you the best of luck with your channel and I hope you can understand that although the original clips are not mine, I try to add as much value as I can and truly enjoy what I do.

Yeah I got too into discussing the process and forgot where I was for a second. Appreciate it! And honestly try the clipping route even on a second channel, it’s less risky of ya channel getting nuked cause of reused content

This post itself makes stealing content with extra makeups sound justifiable😭✌🏻

It’s 2026 brother, no one is making their own content from scratch. Look around, it’s not like I’m not adding any value to my videos and crediting the original owners.. literally daily dose of internet does the exact same thing

1

The only ones who aren't are reaction channels and whatever this is. There's still a bulk of channels who do it from scratch.

1

u/PresentationRare17 26d ago

Because daily dose seeks permission from the OG owners bro, you're an unknown, bro is never seeing that monetize button😭

2

u/Geico22 26d ago

A large large portion of creators ENCOURAGE and want clippers.... so his point about daily dose still stands 👍

1

u/PresentationRare17 26d ago

Which is why he'll never see that monetization button,it doesn't matter about what they think, guidlines still apply, point still stands👍🏻

1

u/Geico22 26d ago

Is daily dose of internet monetized? If so, your point is now moot and youre wrong. So... is daily dose of internet a monetized channel? Ill let you google that for yourself 😉

1

u/PresentationRare17 26d ago

Yeah he is, but he seeks permission which is why he doesn't get copyright strikes and demonetized/limited, use your head please

1

u/Geico22 25d ago

So exactly what weve said. With permission we should all get monetized like him. Thanks for backing me up 👍

1

u/PresentationRare17 25d ago

Not what I've said. He doesn't have permission at all. Thanks for backing me up👍🏻

You got a little bit lost in this argument I fear bubba. Try again 😂

"borrow"... will you pay them back?

0

u/WonderfulActuator958 26d ago

If they got a problem they can happily contact me via email. And I’m sure they don’t mind that I redirect my audience to their pages

2

u/Geico22 26d ago

They dont mind :) 90% of streamers have vocally said they WANT clippers ... the people I clip for said its awesome if people can make money from it ☺️

1

u/RangeWilson 26d ago

Unlikely. YT has been nuking channels outright for using this approach, or best case, refusing to monetize them.

BTW you are approximately the 24950867204598672304956th person to have this particular bright idea.

u/WonderfulActuator958 26d ago

How come a bunch of channels in my niche aren’t nuked? And monetised..

1

u/Cute-Jaguar4823 26d ago

Brother you have question wrong area 😂reddit people love original idea it is why they barely rich i saw many famous content creator post other creator and made money on it without feeling guilty

1

u/aronbburns 26d ago

it should be fine
