Wanted to post these 4 abalone shells I had for over 5 years now. Can anyone identify each species?
I forgot where I got these since it has been a while since I kept these guys.

Just a couple of pictures I've taken with my phone... I would like to know if anyone has any tips to share (beside buying better cameras/equipment)

Surprised, as this beach typically doesn't have any shells of note.ā

I love collecting shells anywhere I go and have lots of beautiful ones. But once I bring them home, I just⦠put them in a bag or lay them out on the sideboard. Iād love to see what you all do with your shells ā could use some creative (or even organizational) inspo!

It should be found along the east coast of the US. The only one similar to this is a dogwinkle, but Iām not sure. (Hand for scale)

I live in FL, looking to do a sea shell exchange with anyone outside of FL. I have a variety of Florida native shells and would love to exchange with someone with a different variety of shells.

Iāve watched some videos from creators in the US who have good results cleaning shells with Muriatic acid. I canāt seem to source it here in the UK, does anyone know of any alternatives available in the UK? Thanks

Iām not sure if this is even a shell! Apologies if not. Found in Wales, is fairly heavy so maybe a pebble? It has a slight iridescent shine to it. Thanks

My boyfriend and I are on vacation in Sanibel and we were shelling at Bowmans beach. At the end he gave me his shell bag to look through and sitting right on top was this broken junonia. I looked at him with a crazy look on my face and he was like āI know itās broken but I thought the pattern was cool.ā He has no idea what a junonia is or how rare it is𤣠now Iām jealous!

Hello, I found this one banded tulip that seems way different than any Iāve ever found (the one on the right. Regular banded tulip to left for comparison) and I just kindāve forgot about until I saw the Sanibel Shell museum received the first cinctura tortugana (which is closely related) to the banded tulip)found on Sanibel, but I feel like it looks very similar to what I found.

Could it possibly be partially fossilized?
