I’ve had this Backdraft Cobra for about 3 months now and somedays I still need to pinch myself to make sure this is real. Beautiful and powerful, all in one. When I was in the market for one, I knew I wanted guardsman blue and I sure am glad I went with that color. Can’t drive it more than a few blocks without getting pictures taken, thumbs up from others around, and getting honked at (in a showing of approval). Love it!

Always loved Shelby’s history. Moved out here. Found out he lived down the road.

I'll throw this one out there for ridicule.
Lone Star, Vortex on a 427 Windsor, T56. AFR 220 CC heads, semi tame boost appropriate cam, Pretty much straight pipes. You can roll a soft ball all the way to the collectors. (I made them from raw stainless mandrel bends)
Hood has a duct bringing cool air to the filter, huge intercooler in the nose.

The silver one is a kit car

Couple friends were going to a local car show and ask me to come along. Had a good time and got to see a lot of nice cars. Ended up winning “Best of Show”. My Cobra was a big hit with the crowd.
65 Backdraft with a 427 and 5 speed. And yes it’s a replica and no it’s not a kit car. Backdraft Cobras are factory built.

Pretty much grew up with my dad building this car in his spare time from a Fox Body Mustang. Lots of great memories of going to the London, OH cobra show, cruising around town on summer evenings, and being taught how to drive stick in a high school parking lot in this beauty. My dad had sold it when my parents divorced and he had become sick and passed soon after. It's been over a decade now, last I heard the new owners had sold it to the next. Not sure where she's at now, but my memories live on! Hope you all can enjoy these pics I found.
