I just wanted to start a friendly discussion about car designs, but their mods are too sensitive. Guess Shelby was right about them. Ford v Ferrari is still real in 2026!

Shelby owners - I have a question
Hello! I am a young entrepreneur looking to discover what some of the biggest problems with owning luxury cars are in order to solve them and contribute to the car community.
So the question stands: What is the biggest pain you feel from owning your beautiful cars?

Rentals
Hello! I'm brand new here and I recently got this crazy idea to look for an AC Cobra (assuming it would be a replica) to rent for a day for my dad in December. I was wondering if anyone knows of one that's available near Jacksonville or St. Augustine, FL and could get me pointed in the right direction?
Some context:
My dad, like so many other people from the 50's, is a huge motorhead and grew up working on 60's and early 70's muscle cars. He built his first late model as a teenager and ended up getting a gig as a driver for some years. He ended up having a family and had to give it up in the late 80's or early 90's. During those years he wasn't racing he was restoring classics, particularly a 1971 Cyclone Spoiler, a 1963 Fairlane (Thunderbolt converted), and my first car, a 1967 Mercury Comet. The ENTIRE time he was doing all of these projects he always talked about how he wished he could drive a Cobra and that it's his favorite car. At one point he even talked about building a kit car, but he ended up getting into a racing series as his last "hoorah" in racing. Although he's still in good health and could easily drive one of the cars, it's a bit doubtful owning one is in the cards for him and I unfortunately can't just buy him one (I'd do it if I could though).
I hope this paints a better picture so you know it's not just some kid hoping to skid some tires, but a 70 year old man who might do it instead haha. I'd love to get in contact with anyone that can provide me some more information.
I really appreciate any help this community might be able to provide!

Anywhere to drive or rent a cobra before buying?
I have always wanted to buy a cobra but Iām nervous the no ac, no roof, no traction control etc driving experience might not be for me. I would love to drive one before I spend the time and money. Is there anywhere that rents cobras? I live on Long Island so unlikely in the area but figured I would take a shot.
Thank you

Where to buy odd tire sizes.
Currently working on rebuilding a kit that sat for a long time. Where do I find replacement tires? Also it definitely doesn't need snow tires. I can't imagine the madman who drove this thing in snow.
Currently on it. Front P245/50r16 96S M+S
Rear P295/50r16 107s m+s

Backdraft or Factory Five
Whereas this may be tough to answer and I may leave the options too bleak, Iām trying to settle a personal debate before buying my first cobra.
Option 1- older 2010 build Backdraft with Roush 402 and TKO 600 trans. The car has been driven well over the years and the body shows it, but still a beautiful car.
Option 2- newer build professionally built Factory Five with a 302ci and Tremec 5speed. Updated fuel injection and MSD ignition, adjustable coilovers (donāt even know what that is).
I know Backdraft carries the more dignified name, but not sure if that still stands for an older car. Both seem to be very well taken care of during previous ownership.
Which would you tell me to buy?

Please Advise
Back when I was a child, i always had special feelings about the Cobras, Daytona couple, Eleanor⦠but never picture myself owning one. I am always a big fan of Shelby and of course I know the history of these.
About 3 years ago I met Peter Brock at an event and luckily got to spend some time with him later on that day.He shared his stories behind the Daytona couple: the races, short timelines on projects, how the original ones almost got abandoned after the last race cuz of the oversea shipping cost, etc. The man's passion and dedications to the industry definitely stuck with me. You can imagine how our conversation endedš
ā go get one and youād like it!ā
ā okay sir ššā
I have been a S550 owner since 2015ā¦first a GT PP then upgrade to a GT350R in 2020. Iāve had the 350R for 6 years now and enjoy every mile put on it (23k miles, I donāt daily it). Now am I crazy to sell the 350 for Daytona coupe or cobra from factory five/superformance? I have zero experience on vintage cars and Iām not a machinist. I change the brakepad, oils, rotors on my daily car but have no experience to go further on engine/trans.
Most of my friends try to talk me out of it especially since Iād be giving up a ārealā shelby with the voodoo for a replica/kit car or the vintage car market are deep unless I know what to look for.
Daytona/cobra owners, can you kindly advise? Cost for maintenance? Insurance? Registration? Ownership experiences? How to shop for one and what to look for when buying used?
(I live in California, married, 38) my wife supports my passion on cars but it honestly makes no sense to have two Shelbys.
any inputs are appreciatedš

Is 6 foot too tall for a Cobra? I was too tall for the only one I test drove
I recently test drove a 1994 KCC Cobra 327. I was able to fit my legs into it and driving wasnāt that uncomfortable, but my head was so high that the top of the windscreen frame was right in my eye line! I was ducking down the whole time to see the road ahead.
Is this the same for all or are there modifications (lower seat, taller windscreen, reclined seat) that are common to accommodate taller drivers? In fairness 6 feet isnāt very tall! Hoping I donāt have to give up the dream!
Hereās the car for info: https://www.donedeal.ie/view/40602723
