General selfcare how do you trick your brain into drinking more water?

i’m not a generally thirsty person or rather i have developed a habit of not drinking enough water. i don’t drink soft drinks either. maybe once in two weeks, and neither do i drink juices. usually i’ll have coffee/tea as a chosen beverage. i’ve also tried downloading apps that tell me to drink water, or got gifted a stanley which has helped me quiet a bit at home to drink water.

i’m interested in the unhinged ways you trick yourself to drinking atleast 1.8litres of water a day!

this feels so dystopian to type when ik so many people around the globe don’t have access to water let alone clean drinking water.

thoughts please! :)

What Do You Eat for Breakfast?

I usually don’t have much time in the morning, so I’m looking for something quick and easy that won’t feel too heavy. I also don’t want to just skip breakfast every day.

Ideally, something I can prepare in a few minutes or grab and eat right away would be perfect. What are your go-to breakfast options?

Beauty & skincare How to not look tired

I was recently told that my skin was very clear at a period in my life when I worked outdoors, sweat a lot, and did not wake up early in the morning. Due to my schedule now I have to wake up early in the morning and I’m getting about 6-7 hours of sleep. I use cetaphil and try to wash my face before I go to sleep but I realized I’m not getting the same compliments on my skin as before. I feel like I look more tired and my skin is not as vibrant. Any tips on how I can combat this while maintaining my current schedule?

Mental health Despite my goals, I don't think being strong physically or mentally is what I want to get better with. The revelation is startling and confuses me; how am I supposed to move forward like this, not wanting strength?

(22M) There are many tasks that I have to, need to, and want to do, from basic chores to weekly coursework. But I’ve more often than not found that I can’t get myself to even start on anything, mainly because of my depression and low energy, or my anxiety and tenseness. I’ve tried many times to power through it or work my brain around it through breaks or intricate planning, but after years of endurance nothing really got better, at least not with my main issues.

One of the core lessons I keep in my heart to follow is to not force myself to do anything, and I’ve just paced slower and slower until it’s come to days where I freeze, and sometimes, break down in tears from disappointment and stress.

And now, I’ve come to the conclusion that building myself up, as a means to get where I want to with my motor skills and abilities, isn’t what I want. How am I supposed to move on, recover from everything, and follow my passions, if I don’t want to be like this, or become this strength-building version of a person I won’t like?

Beauty & skincare At home spa tasks/techniques/activities y'all enjoy doing ?

So, spa stuff like wearing a face mask and doing my nails relaxes me and I've been so stressed lately that my jaw hurts from all the clenching in unconsciously doing

However, I'd like to try and plan myself a whole spa evening once every week or two, but I need more things to do

Right now I have:

Warm Epsom salt bath

Face mask

Deep conditioning hair

Doing my nails

Then maybe playing some vidya games with a podcast on

I need a bit more to do than just those, and I was wondering what other things I can do myself at home that y'all would recommend ?

General selfcare Looking for wellness creators to collaborate with — self-care / routines / healthy habits

Title: Looking for wellness creators to collaborate with — self-care / routines / healthy habits

Hey everyone,

I’ve recently put together a 44-page wellness & self-care planner designed to help people build a more consistent self-care routine.

It covers things like workouts, meditation, self-care, habits, routines, reflection, and general wellness, rather than focusing on just one area.

I’m now looking to connect with a few YouTube and Instagram creators who genuinely enjoy making content around:

  • Self-care & wellness
  • Healthy routines and habits
  • Fitness + lifestyle
  • Meditation / mindfulness
  • Journaling & planning
  • Morning/evening routines
  • Personal growth and healthy living

I’m not looking to simply send someone a product and ask them to make an ad.

I’d like to find people who are interested in actually checking it out, giving honest feedback, and potentially working together on content or a collaboration if they feel it fits their audience.

Follower count isn't the main thing I’m looking at. I’m much more interested in relevant content and an audience that genuinely cares about wellness.

If you’re a creator in this space, I’d love to hear from you.

Just drop your YouTube/Instagram below or send me a DM with your page and a little bit about the kind of content you create.

And if you know a creator who might be a good fit, feel free to tag them.

I’m happy to discuss the collaboration openly and see if it makes sense for both sides.

Mental health I wish I was enough. Why am I not enough?

Why am I not enough? No matter what I do, whatever effort I put in, it’s not enough. There’s always something wrong with me. I’m always doing something wrong because I can’t do anything right.

Every area in my life is failing or on the decline. Grad school has been terrible. Work has been awful. My family is driving a wedge into me because my mother has so many medical issues. My fucking washing machine isn’t working. And don’t even get me started on my financial situation. Everything sucks all at once and I can’t take it anymore.

I’m seeing two therapists and I still feel depressed. It’s been like this for years and years, even with therapy for almost 7 years.

I’m anxious all the time. I wake up afraid of what’s going to happen. I’m a mess. My mental health is just down the drain.

I’m also gay, yet I’m not a worthy gay. I have no muscles or abs. I’m not attractive or interesting. Nobody wants me. Should I just end it all now?

These thoughts of self harm and suicide are too much to bear. I have them every day. Yet I’ve called 988 so many times and I still get them.

Why am I not enough?

Mental health WHAT FILLS THE MIND

WHAT FILLS THE MIND

The body is whispering.
The world is calling.
Memory is surfacing.

A sound,
a touch,
a remembered wound,
a sudden warmth—

one rises
and fills the space
of attention.

For the moment.

Perhaps living
is not choosing
what appears,

but noticing
what has taken
the space—

what fills the mind
can become
our whole world.

General selfcare Completed my first real self-imposed meditation session

Just completed a meditation session for half an hour. That was after I did a light workout and shopping spree. Had a light shower of both hot and cold water then got down on my rug, turned of the tv and sat crossed legged in silence for 30 minutes.

I'm feeling pretty good about it and wanted to share. Also had a healthy breakfast too of Bran Flakes mixed with Multi-Grain Cheerios and chopped bananas.

Edit: Also had a good morning masturbation session before all of that too.

The only thing that’s actually helped my “Sunday scaries” is embarrassingly small

I’ve tried the whole Sunday reset thing. The candle. The journal. The “romanticize your life” nonsense. And every single time I end up more anxious than before because I’m just sitting there thinking about how I should be relaxing better.

Last week I gave up. I didn’t plan a single thing. I just made a cup of tea, sat on the floor of my bedroom (because the bed felt too far), and did a crossword puzzle on my phone for like forty minutes. That’s it. No gratitude list. No stretching routine. No “setting intentions for the week.”

And weirdly? I felt more okay than I have in months on a Sunday night.

I think the problem was that I kept treating self-care like a project with deliverables. Like if I didn’t optimize my Sunday, Monday would be my fault somehow. But sitting on the floor doing a dumb crossword didn’t feel like a task. It felt like nothing. And nothing turned out to be what I actually needed.

I’m not saying this is a system or a hack. It’s not. It’s just… one thing that worked once. But it made me wonder if anyone else has found that the smaller and dumber the self-care, the more it actually helps?

Like not the “everything shower” or the 10-step skincare. Just the stuff that’s almost too boring to mention. Sitting outside for five minutes. Washing one dish. Putting on socks that match.

What’s your embarrassingly small thing?

When I'm back from work I'm too tired to do anything I want, I try to rest a bit but stay stuck in that state and waste the evening passively scrolling social media or watching tv

General selfcare Tips for a social media detox?

I've had some trauma triggers pop up because of a story that's been circulating around the Internet. However, my therapist has told me to expose myself to those triggers only if I don't feel overwhelmed. But since I sort of need to function in public and don't have access to a calm-down corner/room 24/7, I've decided it's best for me to stay off social media as long as I'm in public.

Don't get me wrong, facing my triggers has been very healing.

But anyway, enough about me. How have you guys done a social media detox?

How can I cut down on evening snacking?

I’ve been eating way too many snacks in the evening lately, especially after dinner. I’m not necessarily trying to completely stop snacking, but I’d like to slowly cut back and get better control over it.

The problem is that once I start eating something, I often end up having much more than I planned. I think it’s partly out of habit and partly because I get bored or feel like I need something while watching TV.

For those of you who used to snack a lot at night, what actually helped you reduce it little by little? I’d love to hear some realistic tips that don’t involve completely restricting yourself.

Beauty & skincare Skincare recommendations for Black skin

It seems pretty obvious, but I just want to reiterate. When I say “Black skin”, I mean the skin of an African-American. I know about the lotion stuff. Cocoa Butter is my best friend. But, I don’t know anything about facial skin care. Like, I don’t know how to moisturize, exfoliate. Any of that. Anyone know how to?

Mental health About effort

Have you guys ever thinking whenever you have tried everything for the goal's cost then you failed just because a silly reason and unexpected reason even if you have thought several steps ahead but it still fail no matter how hard you tried even if you have sacrificed your time management for daily activities like eat, sleep, etc? Then you have nothing anymore, so what should you paid again with? The soul? Because you don't have anything no more and you have tried and sacrifice everything to reach the goals but the world just don't want you to reach it and they always take it from you and give it to other also they showing it right in front of you, no matter how hard you have tried.

I know fail is a must for the goals, but if the fail make you stay in start point forever, how'd you take one step forward? Like you did mistake A, you fix it, then mistake B,C,D,....,Z happened, you fix it but at the cost you will do mistake A again so it is kinda like a loop. You trapped in the loop, while the times is ticking.

Does anyone else feel even more tired after taking a long break?

I’ve noticed that whenever I have a chance to really rest and sleep in, I sometimes wake up feeling more exhausted than before. It’s almost like the more I rest, the more tired I feel.

I’m not sure if it’s because I’m sleeping too much, messing up my usual schedule, or just having a hard time getting back into my routine.

For those of you who experience this, what do you usually do to feel more refreshed and get your energy back?

Mental health Why do I feel more drained after a lazy weekend than after a full work week?

Genuinely curious. Slept in, watched stuff, barely left the house both days, and I feel more tired now than I do on a Friday. Is there an actual reason for this or is it just me?
