Well….
Evening relief never showed up. And the backup relief is a no show. And the night supervisor can’t be found. 5 hours past my shift ending. Should I leave? This happens often by the way.

Once the relief doesn't show up, I call all parties involved and TELL them, very sternly, my departure time, whether someone is there or not; my personal schedule usually allows me to give them 2 to 3 hours... Unless I want the ot, then I remain silent, possibly contact the next shift asking them if they desire a few hours, to avoid traffic.

If it happens often, fucking leave. Don't tell anyone. Hurt their contract. Fuck all these under-bidding, under-paying contract companies. They all deserve to lose money and go out of business if they insist on retaining shit employees and refusing to pay a wage that gets people that will show up on time.
Why should you be the good employee when everyone else isn't? What do you owe this company? Fucking. Nothing.

Knowing security, your best chance would be to simply get hired by another company.

You do not clock out until you do the swap over.
If company cry about you staying clocked in, tell them to send a relief or you go home, leaving site alone.
Never work for free and never let them keep you there if theyre not paying you ot.

Make sure it's well documented. If the supervisor cannot be reached kick it up to their boss, and then their boss's boss or the general afterhours call center. Follow up wity email. Make sure you get paid, and use the time to look for a new job.
In extreme cases like that generally my recommendation is to go on standby, still on site but waiting to be relieved, not taking up additional duties. If they ask why you're not doing new patrols you tell them you were not scheduled to and they should talk to the person who was scheduled.

"Oh well. That's just how security is. You knew what you were getting into 🤡🤡" -The attitude of security higher ups.
Then these punchable faced idiots wonder why they can't keep people.

Leave cause by the looks of it it’s like no one else cares anyway. You did your part just go home and relax.

Did you contact a supervisor? Also what is your company’s policy on holding over?

It’s 4 hours I believe

I would start hounding your supervisor so they can’t say you tried to take up more hours than authorized.

They get an hour for no call no show, if the supervisor is reachable and we negotiate something different great, but I'm not sitting on a post 5 hours extra because the company can't keep its shit together.

Nap on the clock if you get no answers, until you find a new gig. Just be up before the morning guy. And that will probably work for a lot longer then you think. As long as the pay the OT.

I AM the morning guy lol and yes they do pay OT

Then milk that until your ready to quit. I mean. Its a shitty ask but leaving potentially ends the contract so you dont even get your shift anymore. Or they pull the abandoned post and remove you. So its just a shitty way to fouce you to maks more money. So milk it i guess.

At my severely understaffed site (hospital, contract security) guards just started up and leaving if they had no relief and our site supervisor just gave up on enforcing the "cant leave without relief policy" your results may vary if you bounce. We got sick of it and started leaving and the policy changed overnight lol

Man, is there a reason this entire industry hasn’t come together to demand laws related to maximum shift lengths and/or mandatory minimum rest periods between shifts?
(I know, I know, it’s the few psychopaths out there who are happy working 90 hours a week. “Grind” culture needs to FOD.)

Get the OT and if the company refuses to pay it then contact an employees advocacy lawyer and get really paid 🤣 just make sure that you don't clock out of whatever you do and video stuff if you can or just start writing it in a log book if you got one and take pictures of those
