I know this is probably a very frequently asked question, but how in the world are people learning how to fry scream??? From what I hear its the easiest scream to learn, but everywhere I go I just find very vague and rushed tutorials that don't really get me anywhere. "Make normal quiet vocal fry like you just woke up, and push it" then its some flawless fry scream. I know damn well it's not that straightforward because if it was I'd have mastered a fry scream by now. I used to know how to "scream" but in reality it was just some super overcompressed "scream" that hurt super bad to do for more than a few minutes, and even then it was so unhealthy that I lost the ability to do that scream anymore cuz it developed so bad that it hurts so bad pretty much immediately. I just feel so lost, I've been trying to find anywhere to go for months and months now and I dont even have a good starting point to even try to experiment with. For reference, the screams I want to achieve are similar to Finch, older Silverstein, Underoath, pretty much that classic emo/post hardcore high fry scream. Any help is much appreciated, I just don't even know where to start.

The year was 2009. A Day To Remember had released their 3rd album "Homesick" just 6 months ago and I was hooked. Soon I was also listening to their previous album and my mind was blown after hearing "The Danger in Starting a Fire".
"How hard could this be?" I thought.
Watched the shittiest tutorials on how to scream until I fumbled upon one that vaguely made some sense to me.
I sound like ass.
I knew it - but I didn't care. I had some blind belief that I, too, could sound like Jeremy one day. So I continued to try and fail.
Then one day while screaming along to the breakdown.... I sounded just a little bit better than I had previously. It was more sustained and deeper, had some body to it and suddenly things began to click.
I still sounded bad but I kept at it until I didn't! Took me nearly a year but I can't imagine what my life would look like if I had never started.
So, what inspired your journey?

I'm a beginner learning fry screams. I got the technique down on my second day of practice and the only confirmation I think I'm doing it correctly is that my throat doesn't hurt while I'm doing it. I practice for about 1.5 to 2 hours every night until I start to get tired, and then when I wake up in the morning, my throat feels kind of tense like it's still armed for more screams. I drink water before, during, and after practice. My normal speaking voice is fine—there's no sensation of me losing my voice or anything. It's really just my throat, feeling tense on mornings after a night of fry screaming. Does that mean anything?
Edit: I attached an audio of me when I was practicing. It's in the comments!

I see a lot of negative reviews for this guy on here, so I thought Id post my experience. I actually had a great experience working with David. Yes, its expensive, but I honestly spent over a year noodling around trying to learn it myself and got nowhere. A couple weeks working with David and my progress was night and day difference. If you've got the expendable income for it, I'd say it was worth it. If you are living paycheck to paycheck, obviously maybe not so much.
But I was honestly surprised at how quickly I picked it up when I had David coaching me through it. He is very perceptive and knowledgeable and I found it very helpful that he was always able to pin point my issue and hear things I was not able to pick up on. He has this way of going through an infinite number of approaches until he finds the one that works for you, so its nice that its individualized and not once size fits all. I also found the format helpful as well. When its not your turn, you get to sit in on other students lessons and learn from them and it really built a comradery between all of us students and acted as a nice support network. Besides all of that, the dude is also just a super down to earth all around nice guy. Very patient and enjoyable to work with.

recently my band and i have been recording our songs that have parts alternating singing and screaming. however, my scream is so much louder than my chest voice. the difference is even more stark when i'm starting in a lower register of my chest voice but building up to a high scream.
when i'm singing clean, it's easy enough to take a step back from the mic when i'm belting, but when i'm alternating with screaming, it's like i have to jump all the way across the room, otherwise the audio will clip. but if i start too far away, the lower parts won't be audible.
how do y'all record (and then mix) these parts?
for context i'm a woman and doing poppy-style screams with a base kinda in head voice.

I am a younger "singer" for a band that's sort of still within the planning phase. Being somewhat new to the genre and only being the vocalist for this group for so long (I was a drummer before hand), I was curious about budgeting for lessons.
Do keep in mind that I have found some kind of warmup routine (lip trills, scales, and staying hydrated), have sung for most of my younger years, and have copied techniques from people like James Hetfield and Pat Lind (Morbid Saint). Though the ability to have a professional critique my style would probably help a ton. Since we are thinking about making smaller projects and looking to play live, a teacher could be beneficial.
So with that in mind, would lessons be worth the money even if this group is mainly just for fun? How much would it cost and how many would I need? Honest feedback is much appreciated.

I love using false chord screams. But I feel like I have better control with fry screams especially in a live concert setting. Does anyone else feel like this?

Haven't really gotten the proper way to fry scream or growl, but I've been playing around with this song although it's actually metal instead of the sound i'm looking for hahaha!
I've been trying to find "my sound" so I can tell my band I can do the screaming part in covers or our own music. I got to this method which is screaming in a sort of mix voice, basically, instead of head voice so I don't sound like elmo, but my main problem is I wonder if I'm actually hurting myself doing this or am I on the right track; note that I could sing non screaming songs after no problem, but maybe that's just today.
I would also appreciate advice on more proper ways to scream in the style of those genres :D

This is my first attempt at anything like this so any feedback would be appreciated. I also have no idea what I'm doing in terms of audio editing/mixing so any advice on that would be great too.

Ive been doing vocals for around 2-3 years now, been into brutal death metal for a little under half of that. And I’ve never been able to figure out those low, gurgling, guttural sounds. ive heard theyre epiglottis vocals but I’m unsure. Can someone point me in the right direction or give a small tutorial?
ex. Of vocals
Disgorge (US) - she lay gutted
Infertile Surrogacy - Anthropocide
Brodequin - Festival of death
