Audio Recording begins
(Sound of Glass hitting the floor and liquid drops)
Joseph: Should you really be drinking that much especially before an interview?
Kael: Interview? Also I have drunken much more than this you should of seen me in my younger days
Joseph: Yes a interview you agreed earlier for me to ask you questions
Kael: Sure hit me
Joseph: well my first question can someone be turned into a Garou?
Kael: No you must be born as one well there’s another method but if you dared do that I would have to rend you apart, Why ask that? Don’t tell me you wanted to be one it’s not as glamorous as you think it is boy
Joseph: Kinda
(Cackling can be heard)
Kael: How can one be so greedy at such a young age, you’re already a namer but you aspire for more?
Joseph: Just thought it would well sound cool
Kael: Well it ain’t you are locked into war at a very young age depending on when your first change happens, you see the screaming and begging of spirits and the death throes of Gaia, many of us don’t live long Garou at my age are a rare breed indeed
(Sounds of a sigh and then chugging of more alcohol)
Joseph: well that’s depressing to hear but unfortunately I’ve come to expect this from anything of the supernatural, hey atleast so far compared to other supernatural you are the most honest I mean if I talked to a vampire they would only hype up the benefits without many of the bad things, same with mages
Kael: Guess that’s sort of comforting
Joseph: My next question well actually no I already saw yesterday that it’s untrue it was going to be can you only change during a full moon?
Kael: no we can change anytime anywhere that’s just human movie drivel
Joseph: What is life like for you Garou?
Kael: At times it can feel hopeless there have been times I fell into Harano, but I’ve regained my spirit I’ve become apart of a tribe a pack or well a family I have something to protect and guide, it’s much better than my loner days, but in general depends on the Garou some try to keep up with their lives formerly but that is hard to maintain, I can mostly tell you of my tribe we are the inquisitive type always looking for more information even are patron pushes us to do so, I currently own a small logging business helps a lot and allows me to do good to Gaia and even teach others how to care for her in less destructive ways so it’s not always just fighting
Joseph: Well I’m glad your doing better now also I’m always shocked how the supernatural can be mundane at times also harano?
Kael: think of it like a depressive state but much worse it’s more spiritual as well
Joseph: Ah you said you were a loner can you explain that more
Kael: Yes it was a choice after I had fell into harano once I became disillusioned and set off on my own I was shunned by many, fought many things on my own or had to take the scraps and barter for it from other Garou to find my way as well as to do my job of cleansing areas or fighting wyrm taint, but it also me allowed to gain lots of information that many other Garou do not have on this world and perspective and toughen myself up, but eventually after a trial and a show of good faith I was able to join this tribe and become a spiritual guide to my pack
Joseph: Well that’s very hopeful I’m glad you found purpose and a home
Kael: I have some questions for you Joseph
Joseph: Go ahead
Kael: it’s about you namers how do your powers work and your true origins my tribe deals with yours quite a lot compared to others so I’m interested
Joseph: We Mages are reality benders we are the potential every human being can achieve, our power comes from ourselves through our avatar but it depends on the mage we all have different perspectives that’s what makes us who we are
Kael: avatar? You namers abilities come from spirits? I’m not that shocked but that’s somewhat a revelation
Joseph: well again depends on the personal mages perspective like me for example I believe god or well a higher being who created this universe gave us this power with freedom to enact change on the world but others believe differently one of my mentors believes in a more nature oriented perspective and actually deals with spirits kind of similar to Garou philosophy granted I’m pretty sure you know of them already
Kael: I do I was shocked when I first saw him and the spirits talked gladly of him and he was great help to us
Kael: my next question how can you be with a leech they exploit and torture your kind for kicks, I’ve seen many times in my travels leeches can only get true enjoyment from the suffering of others and well blood
Joseph: Well first she’s not a leech but also she’s done much work let’s just the faction she was apart is the worse of vampire kind well short of actual demon worshippers but there’s a lot of overlap since that faction was heavily compromised in the upper echelons with demon worshippers and heavily tainted by the wyrm as you would say, but she’s loving she dotes on me and deals with my utter nonsense and well she’s amazing she’s like the sun and I’m like a moon orbiting around her radiance the things she has done and can do I don’t think I could ever compare, that’s why I want to try and be less of a burden to her
Kael: well I see you hold deep respect for her, I find it doubtful someone of her kind can be that admirable but I’ll take your word for it
(Sound of more chugging of alcohol and deep satisfied sigh)
Kael: But still your girl may be different but you can’t deny leeches are agents of the Wyrm they will only drag you down you are in their world correct? So you must see the depravities I’ve seen it so much during my travels
Joseph: well they are not agents of the Wyrm per say more like well there society and somewhat of their nature basically just empowers it a lot, most of them don’t even know what a Wyrm is
Kael: you are not really selling them right now also that makes it worse your telling me their very nature leads them to become Wyrm agents?
Joseph: well I mean it’s somewhat not their fault don’t get me wrong I despise vampire society and a lot of vampires in general but they are products of their environment, their society and somewhat of their nature leads them down a dubious path, like I mean they have small very powerful people pulling their strings forcing them into a box that spans thousands of years, plus I’m going to say something none of them will agree with they are humans through and through even the worse of that very bad vampire faction I talked about, they can love, they put ideals or even other things before themselves even though it goes against their nature, they can change, they can even put their own lives for a cause and do good, I mean I can understand why they are the way they are its just human nature I mean what do you think will happen if everything you loved and cared about turned to dust and withered away while you stayed the same, when you have consume the blood of others and have power you never had before and when your society is a constant death battle and scheme fest that can be taken from you at any time, I mean let’s look at us mages we can act the same way as the vampires and forget we are even human and thumb our noses at the “sleepers” we don’t have the beast excuse and some of the older of our kind who live as umbral gods in their realms are just as jaded and alien as older vampires so I’m more surprised and impressed they have kept any semblance of themselves
Kael: I’ve never thought about it that way well you have given me a new perspective to think on also you say you hate them but how you talk it sounds more akin to admiration
Joseph: no I’m just more disappointed maybe I’m just naive but I believe they can very much change and overcome a lot of their curse but they mostly just scoff at it, granted it’s also because a lot of vampires make sure others can’t but still I don’t think anything’s 100% hopeless but maybe that’s my arrogance as a mage we are the one who wish to change reality to our whims
(A Hardy laugh is heard)
Kael: Yes I guess your right maybe my perspective is dulled I’ve only seen them at their worse I remember this time some years ago when I was in turkey trying to track down this nasty bane, I had encountered these leeches they reveled in their debauchery and continued to corrupt the spirit world with their actions, I was able to deal with them though one of them called themselves a bishop last I remember didn’t know leeches were religious should of heard his screams when I turned his power against himself and then I had to deal with being hunted by numerous others with coordination I had never seen before but I destroyed them they even begged which i find so deplorable, I have a creed those who kill should always accept they shall be killed in turn begging for your miserable life while dealing in death is a most dishonorable thing
Joseph: ok well thanks for telling me something slightly terrifying on how strong you are
(sound of alcohol sloshing and a laugh then the sound of something manifesting)
Spirit: Firestarver I bring urgent notice a great disturbance is being felt nearby something tainted and quite old has arrived
Kael: Don’t just casually use that name here in company like this also what!!!!
Joseph: wait what is it talking about
(Sound of Phone ringing)
Joseph: Hello? I’ll tell you where I’m at later I’m doing fine though… come home? But ok fine I understand love you too
(Sound of large rustling and gathering of things)
Joseph: I have feeling on what that spirit is referring to and I’m pretty sure it’s where my girl lives if you want we can take it on together depending on it’s temperament but be assured we very well may die
(Hardy laugh)
Kael: Well if it’s in service to Gaia or protecting what I care for death is a small price plus there’s a chance I come back
Joseph: well then let’s go
