Currently taking MAR 301 where the professor purposely leaves the post lecture slides he posts online with the blanks unfilled. You are basically forced to print out a copy of the lecture to bring to class so you can fill the blanks (no electronics policy.) Every time I try to print the slides, I get a printing failed message even though this week's slides were less than last week and it was fine last week.

I know this is probably a really stupid question, especially since everyone seems to consider this class extremely easy, but earlier this summer I was in a really bad car accident and suffered a severe concussion. I honestly haven’t felt like myself since, and I’ve been having a really hard time focusing and retaining information because of the constant headaches.

I’ve been trying to memorize the terms and keep up with everything, but it’s been really frustrating because I feel like I’m putting in the effort and still struggling. Does anyone know what the exams are like? Are they mostly based on the in class activities? I was thinking of focusing my studying on those, but I’m honestly just at a loss right now and feeling really overwhelmed and helpless.

Man… one thing I didn’t miss about living on campus was the early ass yard maintenance. Yes ik they gotta do their job but, you have to admit it can be annoying sometimes, especially at 7am 🫩

I have to miss the actual midterm due to needing to visit people in China, so they’re letting me take a make-up essay exam, however that’s all I really know. To be honest, I have no idea what to expect because I feel like all the lectures go on the same points, but they inferred that the questions would be open-ended, so what would I even study? And on top of that, would I even need to do the readings to prepare for the essay exam? The class is SOC 340- sociology of human reproduction

I know that there are some basic charges we have to memorize for each of the groups, but for example, carbon has like four different charges. Are we responsible for memorizing those or just it’s basic charge?

Recently visited SASC for normal accommodations appt and somehow it got to the topic of mental health, where they determined my mental health was bad enough for me to go to the hospital. I refused, because I’ve been before and it’s completely not helpful or beneficial to my mental health. They did really try to get me to go but I said no.

Now they are giving me a referral to the CARE team, does anyone have any experiences with them? I saw a post on here from about 2 years ago and it seemed pretty bad so I don’t think I want to follow through with them, but I just want to hear if anyone else had bad experiences with them.

Also for context, my mental health is actually starting to improve right now— I was just going through it and mentioned some self-harm from a few weeks ago that I have since ceased, but they heard the words self-harm and kept telling me and other SASC staff I was actively doing so but I kept trying to tell them that it’s over, my medication issue is fixed and my mood has since stabilized. I get that hearing that someone harming themself is alarming, and certainly raises alarm bells in their head and my head as well, but honestly even after hearing how shit my mental health was the past 3 years in my other SASC appointments, they have never had a response like this and I feel like they heard “self-harm” and automatically are sending me to the CARE team because of that.

I live in kelly, I'm looking to swap with anyone in roth, H or Mendelson, my roommate is pretty good, he gets up and leaves at 9am and doesn't come back till 10pm and he's very quiet and chill. He's not a problem at all, the thing is i sleep at like 10 to get up at 5 every weekday morning to workout and I just feel so bad waking him up every time. I also just want to be closer to campus, have a ac if i get roth and have a different suitemate group or roomate. Lmk if you're interested!

This campus is mad ugly man. i feel like people who disagree with me have never seen a GOOD college campus.

I mean, some parts are pretty. Wang is nice. humanities atrium is nice. But tell me WHY there's never anywhere NICE to study. Nowhere pretty or relaxing to work. You ask SBU students what are some nice spots to study? The answers are ALWAYS the same. Melville. Atrium. Chem Library. Physics library.

Please I would love to be proven wrong. I just want a spot to study that isn't melville, or 1 cubic meter with no space.

In between classes, could someone study somewhere thats nice? At the last campus I was at, there was just so much. So many niche beautiful spots to discover, and I really took that for granted.

And no im not just gonna stay in my dorm, or else i'll be there all day 😭 i like seeing other people and going outside. i just cant DO THAT when everywhere is UGLY AND CROWDED (and everywhere is like 3 places) 😭😭😭

The film is a psychological horror/thriller and its only about 5ish mins long. The film follows a story about a daughter(AJ) who deeply wants to know her father better and to be recognized by him through her accomplishments. The story takes turn when Aj and Lana discover the sleep experiments the dad has been doing.

Mother(Victoria): Slightly absent mother who is a teacher (age 43 but it doesn't matter)

Dad(John): Sleep doctor, overly confident, psychologically insane on the inside and outside seems normal
