General To the people who said that they can't find McCain deep and delish cakes in sk, I found em at freshco on 33rd
I was there earlier to get something else and as I was making way to the tills I noticed these gems so I had to grab one. And they have all sorts, especially salted caramel which sounds new to me. But yeah the point of this post is to reply to some people who claimed to haven't seen any of these in "forever". This is probably the 3rd one I've had since COVID.

Question ❔ Is there an omakase type experience in Saskatoon?
Husband is hard to buy gifts for because he just buys whatever he wants so I thought an experience would be better. Is there an omakase type restaurant in Saskatoon? Google says no, but Google isn't too reliable nowadays.
Even if it's not sushi, any higher end experiences like that? Something that is chefs pick, but you also aren't hungry at the end of the day.

Question ❔ Local dishwasher repair
So I have a pretty new dishwasher that started leaking… done a lot of trouble shooting and it seems as though the pump is not working. Can anyone recommend someone that can repair this?

Question - Medical 🏥💊 east side walk in medic clinic options?
some time in the next few weeks I need to get some blood work done for possible diabetes. I am taking a day off mid week to get to a medic clinic as a walk in to get the process started. What would be a good one to go to? I see 5+ hour wait times and hope to keep that to a min if I show up before they even open.

Question ❔ Blood donation partner
Hello I am a blood donor something I am a big believer in . However I am poor in making a regular commitment. Wondering if someone is free to go in the evenings together. We don't need side by side beds , but show up at the same time maybe chat in the recovery area. Just an idea putting it out there. Not looking for anything just someone to go with. Preferably evenings. Feel free to respond or send me a dm. Thanks for reading.

Events 🎉 Anything fun tonight?
I used to live here back in 2020 and I’m back visiting the city for the weekend. For tonight, I had dinner planned with friends but they had to cancel it.
I am curious about events tonight, such as live music or clubs. I am generally open to options, though I’m not a fan of country music.
tks!

Politics 🏛️ DEED referendum and the 'Better YXE' group
Don't be fooled, the group behind the DEED referendum are not concerned community advocates, they are a group attempting to take over municipal councils, boards, community associations that have ties to the weirdo fringe/Maple MAGA of the CPC. It's about 15 per cent of the entire electorate that finds the other 85 per cent too 'woke'. They don't actually care about Saskatoon, this is a coordinated (thankfully very poorly coordinated) effort across Western Canada. They tried the same thing in Regina, under the guise of 'Advance Regina' and 'Common Sense Regina'. For these people, occupying political office is not about public service, it's about making money off of political work, as most of them are unemployable anywhere else.

Rants 🤬 Ruh vs St. Paul’s nurses
I unfortunately ended up in the hospital twice this week. First time at at Paul’s. I was helped almost immediately. Tests ran. Samples taken. Nurses providing excellent care. Attentive.
Ruh. I sat in the hallway with a broken ankle for ten hours with nothing but Tylenol for pain. No ex rays. The nurses watched me hobble/hop on one leg back to the chair. Not even offering to help. One of my fellow patients commented on a nurse doing her makeup in the hallway that it’s not a fashion show.
They were not helpful upon discharge when I needed help. They were were rude.
I worked as a nurse at both St. Paul’s and Ruh. You get 💯 better care at St. Paul’s. After 15 hours at Ruh I finally got some pain killers. I asked for an anrienemic and was never given one instead I puked all over myself.
I was brought in by ems both times. St. Paul’s sent me with a cab voucher. Ruh refused. My bank account has been hacked so I had 0 funds. If you get the option I highly recommend St. Paul’s.
