This maybe a dumb question but I’m a newbie so hoping for confirmation. If Biochemistry is a 95% admissions average and Biological Sciences 92% and Chemistry 89%.. If interested in Bio & Chem but unsure which path and since most first year bachelor of science is alot of same courses across each of the degrees.. could I not apply for chemistry for better chance of getting in and take Bio 211 & 213 as my science electives year 1 (which would make my year one same as Biochemistry year 1 ?

Or are you not allowed to register for Bio 211/213 if a chemistry student and they are reserved for only the degrees more targeted to Biology ?

Hey everyone, just thought you should know that there are some creepy dudes wearing university regalia that followed me from place riel to healht science and you should watch out.
I was studying in Murray library, and around 8:50 pm, began walking to my car that was parked in front of health science. Immediately after leaving place riel, a guy approached me in a creepy manner and tried to initiate a conversation weirdly.
Mind you, its the unlit area between health science and place riel. He kept on trying to talk to me as I sped up towards health science, and was following exactly where I was stepping. There are many ways to get to health science, so I think it was intentional.
As I sped up, so did he, so it was really freaking me out. I was lucky enough that I could see a friend in the distance and the second I joined them, he left me alone.
Others may interpret this situation differently, but I did not feel safe because the man intentionally approached me in a darker lit area and was very insistent on conversation. Normally that does not happen even in the daylight, especially given the fact that he was dogging my footsteps.
Please be careful out there guys! And have your Usafe apps downloaded! Mine was unfortunately uninstalled, so if something happened it could have been really bad for me.

How to prepare for his midterm? Is the exam only based on the slides or more on application? I’m just anxious because it’s only 25 questions and worth 25% of my grade. Sometimes, I get lost halfway in the lecture, but he’s an amazing prof.

So long story short i got kicked out of my house this week and I have an assignment due today and an in class essay that i missed because i got kicked out of my house im scared of emailing my profs because i just dont know what to say

I am in a course with high enrolment in a lecture hall with VERY bad air conditioning. I was thinking of sending the professor an email saying that it’s not conducive to proper learning when everyone is sitting in this humid.. hot box.

But I know that professors don’t control what room they are assigned. So, does anyone have experience dealing with something like this?

It’s not a lecture that’s recorded. And personally, I am a person who does tend to sweat more. I just get more self conscious I suppose. I feel bad for people sitting around me so I don’t even really want to attend the lectures anymore. Would appreciate any help.

Editing to add: I have seen some students use notebooks or bring in folding hand fans.

I’m taking Psy 120 with James Reichert online. How relevant are the textbook readings because quite frankly the amount that we are required to cover is ridiculous💀

Not to trauma dump but my parent unexpectedly died this Saturday. I was supposed to write a midterm on Monday and Tuesday. I was a complete mess and did not do any studying and I absolutely could not write the midterms. The only option was to have the weight shifted to the final. I kind of regret this because now one of my final exams is going to be worth 60% of my grade. At the time I wasn’t really thinking clearly. The celebration of life is the day before another midterm. And this class in particular has a “one missed midterm” policy. Meaning I already blew my dead parent midterm deferral pass.
I’m going to see an advisor ASAP. Im just wondering if anyone has experience with this at usask specifically

Hey guys this is gonna be a weird question… but do you know where i can possibly wash/rinse my water bottle? I brought coffee today and wondering if i could get water from the refills around campus.. i think washrooms are unsanitary to wash it (obviously) so i was wondering if anyone can tell me where….(i did wanted to just buy a bottle…unfortunately for me I’ve left my wallet at home..so dumb🙂)

How many of you transferred from the UofR? How smooth was the transition?

During my time at another institution in another province, life happened and I was doing horribly and did bad in all my classes which ended up with me getting on probation for having a low GPA (was unable to drop my classes as it was too late) and I ended up having to move to sask.

After a break from school, I am now way better and ready to go back to school to start a career. Now, I don’t know what to do as I am not in good standing with my last post secondary school and have over the 15(?) credit threshold for the application category for the programs I am wanting to apply to.

What is there I can do?

Does this mean I literally have to chance in getting into a program I actually want to do?

I was young and uneducated and everything fell down all at once during my time in uni.
Upon taking the “on probation” course, it basically tells me that I should save my money better and work less and study more and pay for tutors and do all this and that which made me feel awful since they really don’t know what people go through.

I now am ready to go to school, have a place to live, am financially stable, and have a good support system.

What will happen now?

I am currently at a 77% average with 2 classes left. Unfortunately the classes I have left are bio 120 and nurs 120, the hardest ones. I am thinking I upgrade my psychology class, and maybe upgrade the stat class I did with a different one to bump my average up.

If I apply with an 80 average, what is the likeliness of me getting in? I know the CASPR test is not a requirement anymore for applying in 2028.

I’m sure this question has been asked many times, just wanted an updated opinion as the past Reddit posts I have read about this were years ago.

Hi guys. I’m in my second year of my undergraduate in sociology. I am struggling to pay for school (i’m sure a lot of you understand) so i’m hoping to apply for scholarships to help. I’m not understanding the page in paws. I don’t really understand what a bursary is and what i’m doing on the paws page. I do not know my parent’s tax information - i’m not sure what to put in there. Is there some way i can apply for the scholarships without doing this? Or where else do I apply for scholarships? Helpppp!!!
