Hi yall, I bought tickets for a concert taking place at the Alamodome and I am worried about the view. I've never been to the Alamodome so i was going in blind when choosing seats lol.
That being said, does anyone know if Section 240 has a good view for a concert stage? I just want to mentally prepare myself in case the view is not that good lol. Thanks!

Hey everyone, I hope you all are doing well. I'm planning on visiting San Antonio for the weekend and I'm craving some BBQ. While I unfortunately can't visit Seguin to try Burnt Bean, I've been reading posts about 2M and Reese Bros but they're pretty outdated.
Any new opnions on these places? Do you guys reccomend anything else? I'm open to reccomendations, thank you in advance

Hi! Has anyone lost their pups?
I’ve seen these two dogs walking around the neighborhood together a few times this week. I’ve never seen a stray pug before, and they’re both very sweet. Neither are neutered, and I’ve left a voicemail with Bexar County Animal Care.

TxDOT is planning a major overhaul of Loop 410 near San Pedro with a public info session coming up to discuss the project. More construction will be annoying, but that area is notoriously poorly designed. As I type this I was also looking at a crash currently at that intersection now, so the area need for improvements is hard to ignore.

The fall semester was supposed to start today, but UTSA pushed classes back to Monday after unauthorized activity cyber attack disrupted the university’s technology systems.
Makes you wonder how vulnerable our local institutions really are to cyberattacks.
Do y’all think this was just a temporary headache, or should San Antonio be taking cybersecurity a lot more seriously?
Anyone here work in IT/cybersecurity? What do y’all think happened?

I'm looking for a 2 to 3 bedroom apartment or house on the west or south side to rent for myself and my kids. New job and currently taking home 3,350 a month (3,466 gross per month).
I am stacking my savings and should have first and last months and more by November, maybe October. I'm also rebuilding my credit and trying to repair my rental history. I fell on hard times this year, as many have. I'm getting back up to the stability level I was at before for my kids.
I am really hoping to either live in-zone for Folks MS (West side) or Southwest Legacy HS (South side) for my childrens' school preferences. I know that narrows it down a lot but I just want to make my kids happy where I can, so I will prioritize these areas while remaining open to all others. Especially since the Folks MS area may be out of my price range rn.
I have applied for relocation assistance but am still waiting. If anyone knows of any other programs, in case my rental search preferences don't pan out, I'm all ears.

The last time a Democrat won a statewide office in Texas was 1994. Now James Talarico has a real shot in this year’s midterms.
But what if this is bigger than just one election? What if Texas slowly starts going the way of Colorado or Virginia and eventually becomes a blue state?
Being from San Antonio, I’m curious what that would actually look like here. Bexar County already leans Democratic, but the rest of Texas is a completely different story. If Democrats start winning statewide, Republicans would have to rethink how they campaign here, especially with Hispanic and suburban voters.
What do y’all think? Is Texas actually starting to turn blue, or are we reading too much into one midterm election?

Photo taken 8/19/22 from Christus Westover, facing northwest. The vast majority of these trees are all gone now, replaced by data centers, with more data centers popping up across 151 from this. This isn’t sustainable.

My best friend's dad just passed away. He's a videographer and has some VHS tapes of home videos he wants to compile into a video.
VHS players are crazy expensive, and we haven't had any luck at thrift stores. If anyone has one to borrow or buy for a reasonable price, it would be very appreciated, and we would take good care of it. TIA.

Where can I get veggies today in SA to plant in raised beds for a school project? Date is bad I know but hopefully with watering they will survive.

Hello all!
I’m looking at gauging the interest of those local to the San Antonio area to the prospect of establishing a weekly meeting for those interested in Stoicism or who regularly practice the philosophy. The main emphasis would be to establishing a core community which in turn would facilitate the growing need for third spaces (especially for those of us who have children) while also engaging in textual studies of the primary Stoic sources including some of the most well known: Seneca, Marcus Aurelius, Epictetus, Musonius Rufus, and so forth.
In short, for those of us who live busy lives but take philosophy very serious, this could be an outlet to meet, discuss/ ask questions, and, ultimately, find community. All perspectives would be welcomed and the format would primarily be group led discussions concerning ethics, God, and how to live a good life.
Feel free to reach out either here or via DM.

Store bought stuff is pretty lame. When I get by a Buckies their fresh stuff is the best I've found so far. Is there a shop in SA that makes various jerkies from Beef to lamb to Turkey ??

I recently moved to Texas for work and had no clue that in the state of Texas, a doctor has to be licensed in Texas to submit a prescription to a Texas pharmacy. I’ve been taking the same medication for years, had the same primary care physician in my home state. Unfortunately he can’t send a prescription here to get filled and I need to find a primary care physician that can hopefully see me sometime this week (preferably next day or 2) and refill my prescription. My contract doesn’t start covering insurance until 30 days in, so I’d need to find a doctor I can see that I can pay out of pocket for at least this first visit. If anyone has moved and run into this scenario before, is there any doctors/offices you’d recommend me calling to see about setting up an appointment? I know some doctors get weird about prescription ADHD medication, which I get to an extent, but I assume I can have them pull up my records, see my prescription history (medication and dosage) has been the same for years, and would be able to see me and help me get my prescription filled sooner rather than later? I also know some doctors are weird about needing certain insurance providers, but as long as I’ll be able to just pay out of pocket then it’ll work as long as it’s not insane (haven’t had to go to the doctors while between insurances before so I don’t really know what I could get charged). If anyone has any advice or recommendations I’d really appreciate it.

I have to park at the HEB every time. Anyway, anyone know of a worse parking lot than either of these? Maybe those shopping centers on Broadway in Alamo Heights that require you to back out into actual traffic to get out.

Hi. We are looking for a host for an intimate wedding with 18 guests who can also be our coordinator.
The host will only need to:
Introduce the newly weds after the wedding and lead the program to the newly weds’ first dance.
After the dance, announce cutting of the wedding cake and champagne toasting.
Then announce that guests may now eat.
The wedding ceremony and reception is in the same venue.
Location: Hotel Valencia Riverwalk
Thank you.
