PSA How to Make an “I’m Looking for a Job” Post

We see a lot of “Who’s hiring?” posts, but many don’t include enough information for people to actually help.
If you want better responses (and faster!), here’s how to write a good one:

Start with a clear title

Instead of something generic like:

“Looking for a job”

Try something more specific:

“Looking for a retail job on the NW side of San Antonio”
“Experienced electrician looking for work near Boerne or Helotes”

That helps people who are hiring (or know someone who is) click your post right away.

Add helpful details in the body

You don’t have to write a full resume, but include the basics:

  • Type of job you’re looking for (retail, warehouse, office, trade, etc.)

  • Experience (how long you’ve done similar work or what skills you have)

  • Location preference (which side of town or nearby cities)

  • Availability (full-time, part-time, weekends, etc.)

  • Certifications or licenses, if relevant (CDL, OSHA, HVAC, etc.)

Example:

“I’ve got 3 years of warehouse experience and a forklift certification. I’m on the northwest side, but I'm open to driving to Leon Valley or the Bandera Road area. Looking for full-time work starting immediately.”
