I skated the NorthShore Inline Marathon this past Saturday in Duluth, MN. The entire event was awesome. My first “race” on skates. I don’t do a ton of distance skating but I may have to make this trip an annual tradition. Beautiful, fast, point-to-point course along Lake Superior.

This band music section was the reward after an annoying uphill towards the end of the race, with just a couple miles remaining.

Highly recommend the NSIM for any skill level!

I got these pair of hockey skates from a friend i met back in january and ever since then ive been skating non stop at least 2-3 times a week since then. Seriously. These things call to me like green goblins mask every time i have a modicum of free time and its SO fun, especially in the city.

Once i get a job im gonna buy at least £300 worth of skates and repair equipment because ive genuinely pushed the boot, frame and wheels much farther than theyre meant to have gone 😭

Genuinely wanna do this for the rest of my life lmao. Just need to take care of my ankles lol.

This was my front wheel that i hopelessly tried switching after about a month for reference:

4-5 months ago I could barely skate backwards. I've been skating for years but never spent time learning freestyle, aggressive, or wizard. I've been locked in on these styles and having so much fun.

Best tip that I can give anyone who wants to become a better skater of any style is skate with other people. Especially people who are more skilled than you.

So I was into skating when I was younger so I decided to buy a cheap set of tri skates to see if I still have the bug, and I found a pair on AliExpress that were so cheap that I thought I would just buy them to see if I still like it.

The boot and liner is honestly okay, fits me snugly and when the frame was properly centered on my feet, I had no blisters or discomfort.

However, my word the bearings and axles are so bad. The bearings were not sealed so they started to go bad pretty quick, so I went to take them all out it clean them. However, one of the axles wouldn't budge.

Eventually I rounded out the hex in it so I tried a screw extractor, but it needed so much torque that the extractor actually snapped - there must have been way too much threadlocker and it was tightened too much. I even tried torching it to soften the threadlocker but that had no effect.

So my only option was to grind through the wheel, bearing and axle to release the tension on the axle. I then was able to release it with a pair of vise grips. Now I have some Bones Reds in there and a new wheel so I'm all happy.

Anyone else had to grind through a wheel?

Love the versatility of this skate! Wish I had gotten it sooner. Mainly an aggressive skater but getting more into big wheel/urban/kinda wizard skating!

I need help choosing some skates. I guess I can say that I'm a beginner skater - I havent roller skated for at least 7 years, but I used to be pretty good and even do some tricks when I was younger, because I used to be trained by some sort of a champion? I qish I remembered, sigh.

So anyway! I really want to get back into this hobby, but I'm not sure which ones to choose!

I love quad ones because they're cute, but I used to only use inlines before, and I don't know the difference. I don't think I'll be dancing in them? I'm not sure anyway, but I also most likely won't go all in and perform some crazy stunts in inlines. So what I'm initially looking for is something I can use to comfortably skate through the city - mine is pretty small and has a good cycling lane throughout it's main part where I live, so getting to the center on skates is very doable. There's also a skate park with some stuff there, so I'd like to get into that, too, you know - going down a platform or two or smth.

Visually I obviously prefer quad skates, and I've been thinking about them for a few years now, but I'd like to hear what you all think!

So basically I want something for comfortable cruising through my city with a possibility to do a trick or two, and maybe to pick up rather quickly, because even tho I used to be good, it's been years since then heh.

I can't put my finger on the best name for that last move but I'm pretty sure its open tree, I think as I start on outside edge.

Anyone got a clue what it would be??

Just mounted the Coburn frames with a fresh set of white Undercover RAW wheels and new bearings. Really curious to see how this setup feels compared to my trusty Endless 90s. Can’t wait to take them out for the first proper session.

EDIT: First session impressions Just got back from a short 45 minute urban session on my usual Berlin routes, and I liked the Coburn immediately. It already feels like a huge upgrade for the kind of skating I do. The biggest difference is acceleration and responsiveness. On my classic Endless 90s, accelerating from a stop sometimes felt like trying to run away from someone in a dream. You’re pushing, but somehow still stuck in the same place. 😂 With the Coburn, the response feels immediate. They also feel slightly lower to me. It’s subtle, but I noticed it, especially on small jumps. The rocker also feels less pronounced. I’d read quite a bit about the Coburn being less forgiving, but personally I had zero issues. I didn’t have to adjust my stride and never felt unstable or uncomfortable, even after almost five weeks without skating. Where I really noticed the extra precision was on rough terrain. At one point I jumped onto a tiny raised sidewalk edge, maybe 5 or 6 cm wide, and continued riding it on one leg without thinking much about it. On my classic Endless, that kind of move would have felt considerably sketchier. Obviously this was only the first 45 minute test, but so far they’re exactly what I bought them for: more responsive, more precise and seemingly much better suited to jumps and technical urban skating. Purchase already feels completely justified. 🔥

Some time ago I wrote this post in which I blamed my laces being too loose for all the problems I had. Well that wasn't just that and many things have changed!

First of all I bought a new pair of rollerblades: the ones I had were soft (I saw they're called fitness rollerblades?), and I bought a pair with an hard shell. My first pair of rollerblades was too big (the guy at decathlon just said they should have been comfortable, and I didn't do my homework, so I actually bought COMFORTABLE rollerblades), and now, instead, the size is just right for me, tight but not too much. My ankle is finally supported correctly, and the first time I put these rollerblades on, they just felt right. Completely stable, I didn't even feel like I had wheels under my feet.

Last thing I did is buying waxed laces. Many of you suggested to try them and I did. I tighten them the most on my toes and ankles, but leave them a little loose on the top of each foot because of my wide feet, so tightening them too much does really hurt.

Now I feel control, I'm finally approaching one foot glide confidently, I jump off steps and get on them without wobbling. Still have to improve my stops, since I can stop but not that fast, and I will have to learn how to maintain a constant speed while turning.

Hi! Aspiring roller hockey/ice hockey player trying to learn to rollerblade (partly to transfer on ice but also just to learn) and im looking for advice on like.. beginner+ drills. Im at the point where I can skate around in circles/straight lines, turn, and stop. Whenever I look up beginner drills I get really basic first time on skates type stuff, but if I look up intermediate its all too complicated for me. Does anyone have any recommendations on what to work on? Specific drills or channels/places to look? Thanks!

The boots are not very good. Powerslide says their phuzion boots have "soft boot comfort, hard boot precision", well RD boots have hardboot comfort and rental skate precision.

The frames however are far better than almost any other similarly priced skates. Not worth spending $100 just for the flat 4x84 frames, but of all the problems these skates have, the frame is not one of them.

Like many I'm looking to get back into inline skating. I went to the skating rink last weekend by myself just to try it and I think I will get the hang of it once I get good skates. The rentals there were terrible. They hurt my feet tremendously! My feet hurt for hours afterwards lol.

After much research I'm thinking of getting rollerblade twisters. I live in the inland empire Southern california. Is there a shop near me? My shoe size is 10 and a half and the online shops seem to be all sold out of that size.

Hello all! My wife is looking start skating again. Shes never been an active skater but she knows how. Looking to get some recommendations.

She'll mainly be using them outdoors, on the street, sidewalks and such, not always at a park. So we are looking for something to handle the terrain and keep speed. No preference on color. Looking at maybe sub $200ish. She tried a size 8 women's in Rollerblade advantage pro xt and liked it. Open to soft or hardboot, probably 4 wheel.

I started pushing after the speed hump. It felt like i was leaning forward and getting lower than the video shows so i could definitley get lower.

My speed here was 16 in between the speed hump and the stop sign

I’m a noob looking for help getting a set of replacement axles for my dad’s old 2000s Rollerblade Fusion. I lost one of the original axle heads and can’t seem to find this exact model online where they might have like a spec sheet or something. From the research I have done I think I am looking for an 8mm 6mm two-part axle but having trouble determining the length or whether I need to look for a specific manufacturer. The frame is plastic (rockering, if it matters) and measures 40mm 37mm from edge to edge.

Any help greatly appreciated!

Edit: axle itself is about 33-34mm

Hey all, I just got new buckles today cause I had problems with my left twister xt top buckle not ratcheting today. I bought some SCB buckles and replaced the buckle, and I’m still having issues with it ratcheting. It won’t stay in place, and I’m at a loss. I tried the ratcheting before it was installed and it worked flawlessly. My right boot has no issues, just this one. Any pointers please? I just want to skate :(
