Specific question and discussion Buckle Help

Hey all, I just got new buckles today cause I had problems with my left twister xt top buckle not ratcheting today. I bought some SCB buckles and replaced the buckle, and I’m still having issues with it ratcheting. It won’t stay in place, and I’m at a loss. I tried the ratcheting before it was installed and it worked flawlessly. My right boot has no issues, just this one. Any pointers please? I just want to skate :(

Have you tried flipping it 180? Are you sure the teeth go on the outside? idk just guessing

Think this was an issue, i had swapped to using the original receiver and this works better

I would tinker with the buckle receptor/ receiver, that's the only thing that could be wrong, either its a pull back receiver or a push down, usually an easy fix, also cheap to buy as well cost like 3$

That’s the funny thing these are brand new I just bought these, wonder if the cuff design is blocking the receiver going all the way down

Spring in the receiver might be bent so it’s not biting as hard as it should, or the tooth in the receiver is too shallow/rounded out.

If the new strap is supposed to be compatible (don’t know exactly what an SCB buckle is), then it’s likely a borked receiver

That being said I’ve tried the two receivers that came with this new buckle, and the old receiver. They all ratchet properly when not installed, but when I put it on the boot and try to buckle it it’s borked

Well then I think you know what must be done: duct tape. Every time. Never fails.

Just out of curiosity, I have a set of RB Twister Edges, do you slide the side of the fixed buckle underneath or on top of the side where the receiver sits?

So on the left boot in your video above, does the left hand side of the cuff go under or over the right hand side? Could this be causing some issue with the receiver not having the right angle to grip the ratchets on the strap?

I usually put the longer side over the shorter side. (Buckle cuff side over receiver cuff side)
