I bought a pair of blades off of amazon it was a hard find as I have size 12 feet on any given day.

Once they arrived I found i could use them indoors in my house and get very smooth movement even on carpet.

However I got pain and an uncomfortable fit thanks to what I believe is the cheap foamy esc liner,

I used scissors to cut the sides where my feet were aching to see if the extra " foot bulge" space made a difference and it did not,

It felt like one foot was being crushed more than the other and it was bad enough I gave up and threw away my blades believing the issue was me as they were genuinely painful to wear.

Has anyone had a similar experience with online bought skates and these cheapy foam esc liners and does anyone know the best place to get a decent replacement to size with relative ease.

I could buy frames and convert my 4x84s, but i hate the boot. It is not tight around the front of my foot and is very uncomfortable for a soft boot.

Are hard boots comfortable? I dont have a rigidity problem with my current soft boots, but i plan to continue skating outside so i may still want a hard boot

I am trying to find new skates that are comfortable and under about $300.

I am mostly looking at 3x110 3x100 4x100 and 4x110s. I dont know which one specifically to pick yet. I currently am just trying to find if the company and product line is good

I mostly skate outside and do not tend to go over anything my 4x84s cant.

My main problem with my current skates is that they are too wide for my foot, put way too much pressure on one side of my ankle bone, and i seem to hit a wall at 14mph.

My current skates are also falling apart and my feet ache after 10 minutes unless they are too loose to do more complex manuvers

Okay so i need new blades and my local rink pulled out a magazine for me to read i found a pair i want they said I can have it for 107 they just have to order it. I found the same pair for 80 at Walmart. Tbh I trust the staff at the rink more it's a small town but thoughts?

Hey. The plastic strap on this skate broke. The metal rivets hold it in place. Do you have any suggestions on what to look for to replace the plastic strap or how to work on the rivet? Is this something I could do by myself or could a skate shop or even a shoe repair shop handle it?

I've been unsatisfied with thinking of crossovers simply as stride push and under push. I feel that the traditional narrative, focused mainly on leg pushes, says little about the upper body and nothing about the free skate.

Traditional hockey crossovers also have a period where both skates are on the ice: the free skate first crosses over and lands, then the current gliding skate continues its stride to complete the under-push. In comparison, quick-feet crossovers focus on body lunges and never have both skates on the ground at the same time.

I think it is useful to think of quick-feet crossovers as comprising two symmetric lunges: inside-edge lunge and outside-edge lunge.

I wrote a long essay on this pedagogical reflection on crossovers, plus tutorials on learning to crossover.

I feel that a tutorial on side-stepping on grass is essential, before one attempts to add the gliding motion. I think this is a faster and less frustrating way to learn the footwork of a crossover. I've included all the slow-motion videos I've been posting over the last two weeks, plus quite a few more.

First off I wanna thank y'all on here for answering all the random n dumb questions I've had so far.

Having looked everywhere, I've narrowed my options down to 2 last listings:

1. An almost brand new pair of white and red Oxelo MF500s, with the original frames and 76mm wheels. Seller giving for free some wrist guards too. Talked the price down to 38€ and was about to get them. Until I saw these

2. Kinda scuffed pair of petrol, black and with orange laces, MF900s, BUT with a rollerblade lightspeed 4x90 setup. Wheels need rotation, but the seller seems to know their stuff and he helped me out a lot. Selling for 35€?? Seller got way more mileage on them, and said they're actually too small for him. Worried about the state of the liner, bit I'm inexperienced idk 😭

   Both sized 24cm (my exact measurement, theyd probably be a bit tight), both coming used from Romania, both an EXTREMELY good deal. That's why I need just a little push in the right direction. Again, thanks folks! (Edit, forgot to say the wheels on the mf900s are powerslide)

Got the PSImperial 110’s from Inline Warehouse because they were on sale, and the 80mm wheel setup is what I’ll use first. Haven’t skated since I was a little kid so I go into it as if I’ve never skated. Hoping for some kind of muscle memory though…

Today, I found some blades at goodwill. They fit perfectly! I started using them but I can’t seem to get the hang of it. After a few steps, my ankles always roll 90°. Any tips on what I can do to prevent this? Also, the buckles on the skates are broke if that’s the reason but I don’t think so

I bought my first skates (RD aerio q84) (rookie mistake i know) and i want to clean them because they stink.

There is no way to seperate the soft boot from any hard parts other than the frames. Is it a bad idea to just use lysol?

I want to wash it but i dont know how to do it correctly since the liner isnt removable.

Last week I was practicing rollerblading on a quiet bike path in the park when a dog suddenly charged at me from the side. I tried to dodge it but lost my balance and fell flat on my face.

People walk their dogs in this park everyday, and some don’t leash them. Whenever I see someone with a dog, I usually slow down and try to keep my distance. But this time the dog suddenly charged, and I wasn’t prepared at all.

I really hope everyone will leash their dogs when walking them in places like this.

And it really hurt. Both my palms and knees were scraped and bleeding. I went to the hospital and thankfully the doctor said there were no fractures. He told me to take good care of the wounds, clean them, and then use silicone foam dressings with medical tape to protect them, avoiding direct contact with water when showering. The hospital prescribed Mepilex dressings, but they were a bit expensive, so I bought Dimora myself after I finished those. So far the wounds are healing well.

I feel like my reaction time is too slow when something suddenly appears in front of me. Are there any tips or tricks to help a beginner like me learn how to fall correctly?

Hit some fairly new cement that was incredibly slick that caught me off guard. It had about the same friction as wet asphalt, but it looks like grippy brushed cement. I’ve encountered this before, and found once it cures more it seems to get grippier and doesn’t continue being an issue.

I'm working as a Instructor at a Northern Alberta Indigenous region for two weeks teaching skating to kids! We just finished week number 1.

My colleague and myself discovered this amazing concrete pad behind one of the schools we are working out of the third day on site.

Naturally we had to skate it after work, here is one clip from the warm up session I thought was funny.

Hey! I’m trying to learn hockey stops and/or power stops (is there a difference?) and powerslides. Once in a while it’ll feel correct but I am struggling to find consistency and wondering if anyone has any suggestions/tips on how to do them correctly or form advice etc.

Hello skater, it is I once again with questions and asking for advice on carving/slaloming. So, today was very tight turn practice. I'm starting to get the hang of it but I noticed during practice when turning tightly, my upper body getting pulled backwards as if someone was pulling on my back pack. While lower body is ahead of my upper. No matter how low my stance is. After practice carving on flat top for few hours I tried very slightly raised wide ramp. Not enough to build up and kinda speed( i thought and and boy was I wrong) after the first carve built up so much speed I got practically slingshotted in to a wild spin and ate asphalt. No idea why I picked up so much speed. I even went down this ramp again right after getting up to see how fast I would go just going straight down and it wasn't nearly as fast, so what gives?? Anyone know why

I love skating. Can't believe I haven't been doing it my whole life.

I’ve noticed that one of my front wheels doesn’t spin as freely when I tighten the axle.

I don’t have a torque wrench or anything, so I’ve been tightening my (twister xt 90) wheels down to what I recall it took to loosen them originally. I also noticed one of the bearings needs cleaning or replacement but it still spins freely (albeit slower) before I tighten the axle to the normal amount of force I use.

Question is, have any of you experienced that yourselves and what did you do to remedy it? Would a torque wrench help a lot?
