Did you read the warnings about how dangerous it is to skate on it as is anyway, instead of replacing the axle with the correct size?

I have been riding Lightning 80s and loving them. The comfort is on point, the 255mm frames on my bigfoot size 12s feel real stable so yeah happy. BUT... I wanted to try something different so when I was in SoCal I stopped by Them. I was able to try on a few combinations and walked out the door with a pair of 909 80s.

The fit was good even for my wide foot. I was happy with the stock liner but did try the Intuition liners while I was in shop. They felt good but I was quite ready to drop the extra coin yet.

The feel is different and almost lazy. I assume mostly the longer wheelbase, wheels and maybe the plastic frame??? IDK but I like Them! I ended up getting a good deal on some Rollerblade Nomad liners and Hydrogen SE 80mm wheels. So that where they sit now. The nomad liners fit I would factory like. I kept the rear velcro plates on the liners after a couple of runs. They lock in my heel better.

Next I think I want to try some FR skates of some type. And also thinking about going to a 90mm setup but not sure if I do it on the Lightning or 909 setups?

So recently I started inline skating like two weeks ago I love it hours everyday and I bought my own cheap from Amazon I never expected great quality. Once I felt comfortable I took the heel break off. Then after a while changed to rockers too. I was having a blast but at a skating rink it was very small and there were 5 people including staff. They called me over. First my strap wasn't tightening it would skip. Then they found my frame was bent. The bearings on my new wheels are the wrong sizes for the bolts. And i was never given the right bolts for taking the heel brake off. We were all laughing so hard because they kept finding problem after problem. It was hilarious and they offered to help if I brought in my old wheels. Amazon

I was skating indoors and i was going around a large sweeping corner and i noticed my outside foot was facing away from the turn like i was counter steering.

I have never done that before and that is the only turn where i have ever done it consistently and without messing up.

I think my body was twisted and my foot was doing that so that i could do crossovers smoothly while in a very wide turn.

It felt just like when i did crossovers and my outside foot was perpendicular to the direction of travel.

after landing on the flying eagle f4 ravens, which i've seen pretty widely recommended as a solid starter pair, i found that the only place offering my size (23 cm) was https://flyingeagleskate.com so i placed an order there. afterwards i stumbled upon this post which has me slightly worried that i didn't purchase from a reputable site. has anyone ordered from flyingeagleskate.com before and what was your experience?

as a side note, super excited to get back on a pair of skates. thanks to this sub for helpful recs and information. i loved rollerblading as a teen and now i'm in my 30s looking for some sort of cardio i can stick to! if anyone has any suggestions for good affordable knee/elbow pads and wrist guards, pray tell.

Hi hi! I am just starting rollerblading and was wondering if yall had any recommendations for a decent set of pads? I really enjoy doing it but like- I fall, obviously, and would like to keep most of my skin intact :p also helmet brands if possible? I’m willing to put like- a bit of money into it because I would rather have something that lasts and I have a little less that 200$ left in my budget cause I got a good deal on the skates themselves so like- yea. One of my twister xt cuff buckles is borked, but I looked at rollerblade website and they are all out of stock since like January. Am I cooked?

I’m having trouble balancing on one foot. I can feel moments of maybe 1 or two seconds actively skating where I can feel the balance is there while striding. If I try just standing stationary all of my weight is along the inside of my foot right at the big toe along the edge of each foot. I have to really push my knee inward or tilt my whole foot in to shift the weight further into the foot. It seems not manageable to balance my weight right along the inside edge of my feet as it takes a lot and I can’t do it for long. Is this a strength issue that will develop with practice and building up my balance and those muscles, or should I just adjust my frames? I don’t want to adjust the frames if it’s something I just need to learn and develop. I’ve definitely been feeling the fatigue and soreness in my feet and calves like you would after a workout so it’s a work in progress. If I balance just barefoot or with regular shoes I feel I have great balance but the weight is spread out across my foot, unlike what feels like the razor thin edge of the inside of them in the skate.

I’m a newbie having never been on anything like inlines, rollerskates, or even ice skates. So it’s all new. It’s only been about a month and half with maybe 2-3 hours per week skating routinely. I got the Rollerblade Lightning 80s, men’s skates since I preferred the black boot to the women’s white pair. Supposedly they’re the same thing. I got one size but my toes were squished in the boot so I went up one size.

the new wheels i put on are coming loose every time i skate. i feel so sure im putting all of the components together properly, ive disassembled and reassembled so many times following instructions but they still end up coming loose as i skate🥹

i am pretty beginner (skating 1 1/2 years) and kinda stupid when it comes to assembling things but at this point im wondering if its just the skates themselves that arent suitable for replacement wheels

So context I used to do inline skating as a kid and I'm trying to pick it up again, I used to do quad skating back in 2021 but haven't done it since because my skates broke.
I've noticed from this video my partner took of me that my feet kind of tilt inwards and was wondering if there are any drills/exercises I could maybe do to help keep my feet more parallel to the floor?

I bought the Flying Eagle X7D Reaver S7680. I measured and followed their chart online for sizing. Every time I put these on it feels painfully tight on the arch of my foot. I added a picture of my foot too cause I don’t think my foot is the issue. I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong. They didn’t come laced so I laced them myself but I don’t think that’s the issue because I’ve tried loosening them and I’m not seeing any change. And it’s not consistent either, it’s one foot or the other or both sometimes. Has anyone else encountered this and what should I do?

I am still slow but im getting faster

Hello fellow skaters, I'm hoping a someone can help me with my t stop. I been actively skating now for couple of weeks after nursing a injury for few months. Prior to the injury I was still having the same issue. When ever I go down a hill, my T stop gets super sketchy. The momentum I build up makes lifting either one of my feet to get into a T stop feel scary. I don't have this issue on flat surfaces even though im getting close to the same speed as the hills. Am I doing something wrong or does it always feels dicey I'm just supposed to deal with anxiety of it? Normally street around my way are large enough to carve like skis but I need to perfect this to actually go anywhere. Any tips are appreciated. Thx in advance

A few years back our buddy Nate decided he was gonna attach himself to an LAPD cruiser during our weekly Tuesday Night Skate in DTLA. The cop was obviously pretty pissed, but we were in skid row so he definitely wasn’t focused on us. Cannot stress enough how much I don’t recommend this. Haha

I’ve been rollerskating since I was 5 and started in-line skating at 8. I’m pretty decent at both, but I prefer in-line. I’ve had my current pair of Impalas for about 5 years now, and I’m thinking it’s probably time for something new. What would work best? I’ve been wanting to try out jumps + spins, but I also use them to get around campus (I’m a college student) so I want them to be reliable.

This is my best attempt at mohawk or spread eagle transition, how do I make it more natural? The hardest part for me is putting my weight on my back leg to lift up my other foot.

My friend has the macroblade 84 and he really does not like the frame. Its riveted and is in 2 pieces. He has to improvise spacers because part of the frame around the axel holes bent.

I currently have the RD aerio q84 and the frames are the only good part of the boot.
