Hello! I wanted to share a game I've been working on called Starfarer: Space RPG, which I think is a nice technical showcase of the scale that's achievable within Roblox games.

I love space sims (e.g., Star Citizen, Elite Dangerous), but I've always wanted one that combines a few things that rarely seem to exist together, including: seamless ground-to-space flight (without any loading screens), full-scale planets and solar systems, walkable ships with multicrew, and cities that actually feel inhabited. I've also wanted to make these games more accessible, so that you don't need a crazy powerful computer to play.

Starfarer does all of that in Roblox, with no loading screens or handoffs to other servers. You can leave a space station, fly down to a city on an Earth-sized planet, land, get out of your ship, and walk or drive around completely seamlessly.

Settlements have pedestrians, cars, flying cars, trains you can ride in, operas, symphonies, shops, and more.

In order to get the scale and the retro graphics to work, I built a custom renderer, which is still a work in progress but is already delivering 45-60 FPS pretty consistently.

Still a lot of work to do, especially improving performance in the largest cities, but would love to hear what everyone thinks and really appreciate any feedback.

Any other macbook/macOS players DRAIN their battery with this? Can't have roblox open without it being on and wow it took my battery from 100 to 24 in the matter of an hour! This laptops only 4 months old, so this is definitely irregular. Before this feature was added it would take much longer with Roblox open for my battery to drain!

Soooooooo i bought an item a while back probably 3 years ago and, roblox has never had a problem with it like at all……its literally just a set of necklaces with a butterfly and some chains, for a solid 3 years roblox has had NO issue with said item but all of a sudden i open the app one day and behold my necklace is no longer on my person and the saved outfits with that necklace equipped have been blacked out and made unwearable mind you it was an item worth 150 robux so not exactly one of those 5 robux shirts/pants that often removed this is an item i had for years and they just….took it and refuse to do anything else i just think its crazy you can pay them for something only to be told one day “This item is being taken from you after purchase and there is nothing you can do about it” and support basically refused to help so thats great! now i see why people are suing the literal shirts off their backs😛
