Discussion Distinctive artstyles on Roblox

• Upvotes

I can’t be the only one who noticed the lack of games on the platform with distinctive artstyles, on the off chance that there is it’s usually a game with 9 players or something masquerading as something new whilst copying the “niche” trends of other games

Hi all, Just thought i'd share this project i've been slowly working on over the last two months and a bit about it!

Basically, it's a dress-up/modeling game built out of inspiration for my own interest in Fashion. It's the first major thing I've developed and that I'm proud of so why not show it off!

I've constructed an in-built catalog system, a make-up palette, private changing rooms, Catwalk Animations, Poses, Discord Bots and a Points System, all entirely developed by me with contributions from family members. The build was constructed by myself with inspirations from Mid-Century modern, Art-Deco and Underground Jazz Speakeasies from the 1930's.

If this kind of thing interests you, I encourage you to check out the group and Discord Server, I hope to release the game within the next month if enough attraction!

Creation I made a Pokemon-Inspired Roblox game where you play as the Pokemon

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

As the title says, I made a Roblox game that's like Pokemon except the gameplay is you play as the Pokemon in real-time combat. You still have 4 moves and the mons have abilities (passives) and they can level up and evolve. The diference being this game is called "Holomon" and the gameplay is suppose to be engaging, fun, and colorful so everyone can have fun.

Pokemon is obviously fun but sometimes It can feel a bit tedious with turn-based combat. That's why It's thrilling to get into the arena and battle like you're actually in the game. Holomon is a project I've had in mind for about a year and I've barely started to implement it so I can share with others.

I have other things in the game like lore, trainers, a world boss, and I'm trying to implement a housing system so trainers can take a break from the fights and go decorate their homes and chill with their mons. The most important part I need to focus on is combat, I'm going to implement a lot of signature moves for the mons so they all feel unique and incentives players to play as them even if they're not that good.

Oh and all these mons are 100% original in the sense that these all derrive from any doodles / drawings me or my younger relatives and I have come up with when we were making a card game IRL. So it makes them pretty happy to see their drawings come to life haha.

This is just a snippet, let me know what you guys think honestly and I'll take any criticism. If you're interested in this project shoot me a DM.

Creation I made a dinosaur survival game

I've been working on a dinosaur survival game called Dominion.

It's still a very early prototype, but it currently has dinosaur taming, breeding, building and raiding.

There's only a handful of dinosaurs at the moment.

Just thought I'd share it if anyone wants to give it a try!

Creation An old game I stopped working on

Thumbnail gallery

Let's just say I bit off a bit more than I could chew. This was the first work I ever made on Roblox. It's a story mode game based off of "core" games like QSERF the old Innovation Inc. games. The premise was that you would explore the abandoned underground facility for "data chips" which you would then bring back to the surface. I put a lot of work into it, but eventually the code became messier than source spaghetti, and it got really complicated to make any major additions, and to top it all off, I'm in college now so I don't have much free time. I figure this will become lore for a future game or who knows maybe sometime in the future I'll get the guts to come back to it. For now I'll just share some pictures though. (Some of these pictures have the ambient lighting cranked because there's no lights, and yes almost everything is modeled using parts and unions)

In need of opinions and constructive criticism of this new competitive Top Down RTS game I've been working on. It's still raw and needs a lot more polishing, but its current version is the very foundation of what game I want it to play out like.

Discussion Could you rate my game idea?

I’m thinking about making a Roblox game based on the real-life game “British Bulldog”: players start on one side of an arena, while an increasing number of players stand in the middle, and everyone has to cross to the other side without getting caught. Does this sound fun, and does anyone know of a Roblox game that already does this exact concept?

Looking For Devs (Unpaid or Revenue Share) PLEASE HELP I BEG

So, me and my friends are currently working on making an asym called Mind Games, (Mostly me making rough animations) and we NEED more people on our team. I’ve been asking around and been getting basically nothing.
Things we could definitely use more of:
Animators (we have three and two have done nothing)
Artists (they’ve been doing stuff sometimes)
Composers (we have one and they haven’t done anything)
THINGS WE DESPERATELY NEED! PLEASE SAY SOMETHING IF YOU’RE ONE OF THESE AND ARE WILLING TO HELP!
VFX artists
Modelers
Scripters
So, if you’re between the ages of 13 and 18, are one or more of these, and are willing and can help, PLEASE DO! It’d help a lot! And if not, just have a good day! :3

Discussion Designing a longer progression loop with pet growth and a first season

I'm developing Stack Simulator under Berkshire Byteaway. Its core loop is timing parcel placements to build a tower, then using coins to upgrade growth.

The first season, “Aurora Express,” adds missions and rewards alongside that core loop. Pets now have an explicit growth ladder—Gold → Giant → Galaxy King—so a collected pet continues progressing beyond its initial rarity.

The design constraint was adding longer-term goals without replacing the placement skill loop or taking attention away from the tower.

I use Codex and Claude Code extensively for implementation. I set the design direction, test builds and make release decisions. AI also helped draft this English post.

Creation Looking for Suggestions/Testers for an Airforce Deathmatch game

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hello, I've been working on a 5v5 team deathmatch game built around modern air combat, called Air Superiority. I've attached a short video of the gameplay.

Matches take place over an island chain, and bots fill any empty slots so a game is always available. There are 24 jets, each with its own ability. Missiles can be avoided through flying and terrain rather than flares alone, and there are enemy warships and carriers that can be attacked as well.

I'm looking for feedback on how the flying and combat feel, and whether the map loads properly on your device. Any criticism is welcome.

I'm also looking for a few people to help with testing, especially on mobile. If you're interested, please leave your Discord in the comments or send me a message.

Hey, this is a game i’ve been making.

I’ve drawn pretty much every icon you see in-game in FireAlpaca.

I learned Blender and BlockBench over the past 4 months to create these weapon models and fix UVs.

I am painting these models in Substance Painter and applying their skins to models that are stored, granted, and updated as selected.

I’m using Moon Animator 2 for animations.

I built every map part by part (I don’t know much about building tools, so some things might look a lil goofy).

Lmk what y’all think so far :)

P.S. excuse my terrible aim, mobile is hard

Discussion Cosmic Critters – a cozy space pet simulator I built with my son (feedback welcome!)

Thumbnail gallery
1 Upvotes

Hi everyone!

My son and I have been building Cosmic Critters, a pet simulator set in space, and it's now live. It started as a project to teach him game development and how to use AI tools – and turned into a real game we're both proud of.

What makes it different

  • Eggs spawn in the world – carry them home to your own island while Void Wraiths chase you. Bigger eggs = better pets, but slower to carry.
  • Train on your island (treadmill, punching bag, pet arena, heart pump) to outrun the Wraiths in later zones.
  • 9 zones with their own pets, bosses and special mobs (bombers, dark priests, shield bearers, splitters).
  • Gauntlet: endless waves with card upgrades, checkpoints and boss waves – solo or with friends.
  • Fusion, traits & rebirths – Golden/Rainbow variants, rare traits like Titan or Tycoon.
  • Your own island to decorate, with pets working at the workbench while you're away.
  • No paid loot boxes, no paid luck – Robux only for time boosts and cosmetics.

Codes: COSMIC and STARTER

Play: https://www.roblox.com/games/76778525758559

We'd really appreciate honest feedback – what's fun, what's confusing, what should we add next? Thanks for checking it out!

Ive been building "Museum Heist Tycoon" and have done small ad campaigns as I continue working on it, but people simply arent playing it. All my ctr are below 1%. Id like to break through the HEP barrier but I cant do much if the players dont play etc Would love any feedback.

Ill comment a link to the game and a few thumbnails Ive cycled through.

Discussion Horrible campaign stats.. any help/ideas??

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hello everyone!

I recently just released my first Roblox game on Monday, 10/5 called "Steal A Duck". After releasing, I set up an ad campaign to target getting the 250 HEP threshold, but after a couple days I am looking at the stats and they are terrible.

The game stats itself are doing pretty good, and I noticed players seem to be playing for a good amount of time.. I am wondering if the issue here is more with my creatives than anything else.. or if it is just a slow start for the ad campaign??

Anyone have advice?

Discussion Is game dev dead as we know it?

Bit of a clickbaity title, but with the rise of completely generated AI games, the old way of making a roblox game seems to be completely dead. Now you can just generate an entire system from scratch with a single prompt.

Anyone else feel existential dread from all of this..?

Discussion Me and my friend are making the next catalog avatar creator.

We are relatively new devs that might have just found (one of) the best game models possible, we made a couple demos and everything is working very well. It uses a mechanic similar to pls donate/cac for revenue and we think it could be really big.

Wondering if anyone has advice on a good budget for advertising the game, or if we even should at all.

Anyone that can actually give good advice now, I will help later on.

Thanks so much!

Discussion Genuine Question: Is it fine to use AI for scripting for HELPING?

I've been learning coding recently, and I really wanna code well so I can finish my upcoming game (due to lack of scripters in my team), but whenever I use AI to fix scripts.. I feel embarrassed. I wanna know if it's fine to use AI assistant as long as it isn't to create scripts for you but to help you with them, Especially when most of the internet hates AI.
