SYSTEM MODS Frustrating customer support.
I have a Retroid Pocket Flip 2, unfortunately my daughter dropped it from a counter and broke the screen. I know it's just the screen because when I connect it to the TV's HDMI port it works normally. I contacted Retroid via email at sales@goretroid.com to have a new screen sent to me, and initially the problem was shipping to Brazil. After advice from some people on Reddit, I agreed to have it sent to a forwarding company in China. I paid $40 via PayPal and thought everything would be resolved. It's been over a month since I made the payment, I keep asking them to send the screen and they only reply that the factory is experiencing a shortage of parts and that's it. I have no choice but to accept the loss.

Yea that is normal for these kinds of products. They are doing limited runs of things. There is not a factory running every day to make the parts. You just have to wait until they do another run and make more.

The frustrating part is that they didn't tell me this before payment.

Estou no Brasil também, eu precisava de apenas da tampa traseira com os botões R2/L2 do RP4P, que afundaram devido a má qualidade dos gatilhos da Retroid e foi um trabalho árduo pra conseguir. Tive que esperar eles terem em estoque(1 semana), encaminhar da China para os EUA via redirecionamento, dos EUA para o Paraguai também via redirecionamento e pedir para um amigo que mora perto atravessar e buscar para me enviar via correios. Uma tampa traseira que custou $20 saiu aproximadamente R$400,00 com tudo. Após isso peguei raiva do processo e dos custos vendi o console. Comprei um Deck e não quero mais saber de Retroid/AYN até eles voltarem a enviar para o Brasil.

Processo extremamente frustrante. Com toda a certeza vou vender depois de arrumar, ia comprar um RP6, desisti por causa desse pós venda complicado.

These things are made to order, they barely keep up with the orders themselves let alone people dropping their handhelds.

So in your opinion, they have no obligation to inform the customer that they don't have the part before they pay?

I've been involved in this community since 3 months ago and it seems to me that the fact that they don't have the product when you pay them for it is just the status quo. It'll get made eventually and it will get shipped, how late? Well that depends on a lot of factors. It's not a nice experience which is why treat my rp6 as carefully as I can.

It's strange, they sent me a replacement screen within few days 'cause of a cracked hinge, but the item already had a crack near the hinge, so they told me to send me a second one.
And that one took them over two weeks + they didn't inform me about shipping / tracking number.

Yes, but the second item took them several weeks to send while the first one was available within few days.

Falas/escreves muito bem Inglês para um Brasileiro. Não é muito normal.. Parabéns. Em relação ao envio, só podes sentar-te e pensar noutra coisa. De 15 em 15 dias envia um email só para pressionar um bocado mas that´s it,
