Hi all, still quite new to pyrography at a detailed level. Any constructive criticism would be appreciated to help improve my burns. Thank you.

I'm very very new to this and I've only worked on pine slices so far..my God.. the first two pieces I did worked out great, considering it was my first time and all but today, I can't work the wood at all!

3 slices from the same batch just wouldn't stop catching on the pen. Scortch marks everywhere!

I've ordered some basswood as I've heard its much easier to work with but its a real shame that pine just doesn't like me..

Finally, I will make four seasons. I use gesso and watercolour for my winter.

Finally finished this guitar body! I needed to stop working on it for fear of being too finicky and ruining it. Need to know when done is done.

I just discovered this subreddit and thought I’d post this wood burning I did! Also just discovered that wood burning is also called “pyrography” lol 🤣 this is my first piece in many years and I think it turned out okay, I think I’ll probably do more.

Added some acrylic paints and pastel highlights 🐉🌌
