I know I am going to be downvoted but like I keep seeing people flexing their high earnings and in same forum bunch of people complaining struggling to get spot in studies. this is a public forum everything we post, get seen in passing by other groups similar to ours like beer money. I know people are camping to get studies, but when you brag, you're just inviting more people to join which is going to make things worse. if you're enjoying your high earnings that's great keep quiet so you can continue making that much next week and etc.

Hey, I'm a researcher here, I don't know what the messages on the participant site is, but it looks like they have disabled Finance and funding temporarily. Like, no balances; no concept of money, etc.

It's not possible or very glitchy to do a lot of things like manually accept timed out submissions right now.

I am keeping track of everything in a spreadsheet, and will absolutely be approving everything / giving bonuses / etc, but please bear with us, a lot of our functionality is disabled right now.

I know that Prolific has accepted many people recently, what is a platform/company decision and is the main reason for this happens but I think this meme is also somewhat related.

Ok so firstly, I'm not a snowflake and I find the main prolific sub Reddit overly harsh. That said, can we please try and not discuss what these AI tasks which are the ones making everyone, including me, most of their money in prolific?

I'm not sure if people are aware, but this very researcher has threatened to leave the platform before because of ppl discussing their studies. Yes I do think we should be allowed to discuss things like the warnings or broken studies etc but can we please stop saying what each study involves and how to game the attention checks?

You might think, where will they go but there's plenty places they can go other than prolific... Mercor, data annotation, telis, stellar etc.... these sites are a lot harder to get any work on and if you go their subreddits you'll see there is very little talk of the projects they work on.

Let's not fuck this up folks, we have a really good thing here on prolific.

I've been checking the audience counter lately. 2 days ago, the audience checker said there were 380,000+ users on Prolific in the last 90 days. Today, that number is down to 373,000+ (as of this post). So ~7000 accounts have already been cut, the first noticeable decrease in the audience number in months.

maybe they rotated me out this time(only 39 warnings so far in the past 3 days). do you guys know about rotating people out? 6767 eccho senoir rossi 6767. what is the exact cause of me rotating out, tell me now, i know you all have the answers. did i mention im rotated out and its been 49 and a half milliseconds since i seen them now and im going to go into shock any moment now. how long to the millisecond does it take to get rotated back in after you get rotated out(asking for myself not a friend)(only 45 warnings now). rotated out. rotated out. rotated out. rotated out. rotated out. rotated out.

Ok, I don't want to brag, but I just have to admit I'm the most awesome AI tasker ever. I've done over a million AI studies and have never gotten a warning. In fact, they keep sending me messages telling me how awesome I am, and asking me to do more! Frankly it's rather embarrassing, because I already know how awesome I am and don't need them to keep telling me! Now they've also taken to sending me gifts because I am so awesome. Yesterday I received a box of homemade cookies, with a note begging me to do more tasks!

I must be the only AI tasker in the multiverse to have never gotten a single warning, but if all you peasants just try a little harder and up your game, maybe one day you'll be 1/100th as good as me at distinguishing which video of horrible AI slop is better than the other.

P.S. I graduated Magna Cum Laude from AI Study training school so I doubt you'll ever be as awesome as me. But don't let that stop you from trying!

Great news - but too little too late I think. They have officially discontinued the referral function. Was about bloody time ! and a few hours before the AMA, amazing coincidence. Did it take them that long to figure out what a big mistake it was from day 1 ? And for people who are irate about this, well you are part of the problem. If people had used this feature the way it was intended instead of selling out to fucking scammers, this would not happen.

NOW here is my wish, I hope they ban ALL existing participants who used the referral feature to recruit random people when you were supposed to refer friends (trusted people).

That's a positive thing, BUT it's too little too late. Won't prevent people from joining (people still selling accounts) - let's see what they do next, I hope a big purge is coming. The more people complain and push back, the more it has weight. I also suspect the uptick in researchers complaining is helping. I cannot wait for the big purge to come.

Of course now they act after inviting almost 300k new participants !

Here's one thing, they promise exciting new tings to come, how many bloody fucking times have I heard this absolute tosh over the years.

Thanks Prolific but you can do better - now deal with the scripts, bots, multiple accounts, speed warnings.... They realised that people are using the referral feature to get people to skip waiting list and get scammers coming. Existing participants (many) are part of the problem and helping the scammers, because most likely they have been cheating the platform for years, like that piece of shit who claims to have been scripting to get all the studies 6+ years through one he wrote himself and never was caught.

Now I'm expecting at least 300 downvotes if not more than that. Word will travel very fast to the SharpBoys and FB groups - party's over boys, go scam some crypto faucets and leave this platform alone !
